Remove the Yahoo toolbar in Firefox 12
I can't get rid of the Yahoo toolbar in Firefox 12. It does not arise in extensions or add-ons.
I have eliminated all programs of Yahoo (toolbar, IM and update programs) in the Control Panel Add/Remove programs.
I restarted Firefox in safe mode. There is still no Yahoo modules or Extensions that appear.
I then went to help. Troubleshooting information | See file
I clicked on the record Show.
There is a folder called "Yahoo! Inc.". When I open Yahoo Inc., there is another folder called ytoolbar. I deleted Yahoo! Inc. when Firefox was open and it was closed. As soon as I restart Firefox, the file of Yahoo Inc. is recreated.
I can't remove the Yahoo Inc. folder permanently.
It is an invasive program.
How can I get rid of him?
The problem is resolved. I deleted a subdirectory in the Extensions folder, even if no extension was visible. Here is a screenshot:
http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/319/extensionssubdirectoryamw.jpgHere's where the folder:
C:\Users\KHS\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\is9gtev5.default\extensionsThe subdirectory highlighted contained a lot of Yahoo. So I just blew the whole subdirectory. The other key point is that the subdirectory is born at the date of installation of Yahoo.
Problem is solved.

My yahoo toolbar is not editable, and is essentially useless. The button refresh does not work, and none of the icons (apps) are ones I used to have. Yahoo instructions suggest using the sign, which doesn't seem so. I've seen other people with similar problems, but mine is with Firefox version 20.0 and Windows 7. My computer is new, and I used sync to keep my settings in Firefox, bookmarks, etc, which may or not be related to the problem. Yahoo help was better and more personalized. Now I can not even find a way to communicate with them. Someone elsewhere on this site gave a phone number, but I've been waiting forever. Any ideas?
One of the earlier answers suggested a reinstall of Firefox using this link
http://downloads.Yahoo.com/Firefox/?code=108
You don't have to uninstall Firefox.I tried on my first computer and it worked. Now, I did to the laptop and I ' m back in business. When I restart Firefox it does not update to a newer version. What I have not done is shut down my computer so, I keep my fingers crossed. I don't know who it is - the fault Yahoo or Firefox, but I hope that they prevent this from happening again. I am lost without my Special icons on the Yahoo toolbar.

I just upgraded to ver. 18.0 if there isn't a way to remove the Yahoo logo please direct me to re - install the latest previous version.
Thank you.The Yahoo logo is just part of the customizable themes in Firefox. Go to the Firefox menu, select Add-ons, then select the appearance tab. Select the theme that you want, or select 'Remove' to get rid of the Yahoo theme. There should be a default theme in the list. You can also go the site of Mozilla Firefox and download other themes, or even create your own.

For weeks I tried to get rid of Yahoo from my computer. I deleted it - or so I thought - by using the option remove in the Control Panel, but Yahoo icon is still on my toolbar, and when I click on it and now I get redirected to the Yahoo site! What should I do to get rid of this unwanted program?
Hello
Which toolbar do you speak? Internet Explore toolbar or some other?
If it is internet explorer, the problem goes away if you run internet explore without modules, probably accessible from Start - (all the) Programs - Accessories - System Tools.

How to remove the new toolbar as right click options
This toolbar when you right-click anywhere on any page of the page, it contains: back to the front/refresh/page/add a bookmark, it is large and of course made for touch screen in mind... How can I remove it since I do not use it?
If you prefer the text labels on the shortcut menu rather than the icons for the back, forward and Reload and the star to bookmark the page and then you can install the extension "Classic theme restaurant"
You can find the option for labels of text instead of icons in the context menu in Options/preferences of the extension of the TRC in the section general UI.
Replace page with label context menu icons (back, forward, stop, reload, page bookmark) -
How to remove the Yahoo! search engine
I have two yahoo search engines, appearing in the search box menu. One is Yahoo and the other is Yahoo! (with the brand of the explanation). It seems that Yahoo! has hijacked my browser as I am unable to remove it by using the search engine option to manage. Although it seems to be removed, when I close Firefox, I get a message indicating that a blocked program its withdrawal. Please tell me what I need to do to remove this fake search engine as it redirects me to what seems to be legitimate pages Yahoo saying the words I never typed cannot be found. Interestingly, redirects do not occur for all the sites I visit.
Thank you, Tony
Use most or all of the programs listed. Each works differently.
If a program forgets something, another can catch it.Sometimes a problem with Firefox can be a result of malware installed on your computer, you may not be aware of.
You can try these free programs to search for malicious software that work with your existing anti-virus software:
- Microsoft safety scanner
- MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware
- TDSSKiller - AntiRootkit utility
- Hitman Pro
- ESET Online Scanner
Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP, if you do not already have one.

How can I remove the floating toolbar by default in CS5?
For the life of me, I can't understand how to remove the floating toolbar. I get this toolbar, every time I launch Illustrator. I tried to delete the preferences file and that does not clear the problem.
Here is a picture of what I see:
He has no control on the toolbar. Make a right click has no effect. I am running CS5 on Win7. I can drag the empty toolbar and dock it right under the top menu, but upon reboot, it appears again in the middle of the drawing.
Does anyone have an idea on how to fix this?
-DK
Finally figured it out:
The floating toolbar has been invoked by the CADTools plugin. To make it disappear, go on:
Window-> CADTools-> hide all panels of the CAD tools.
Peace at last!

How to remove the default Firefox 38.0.1 yahoo search (Macintosh)
How can I remove the automatic reset of Firefox for the terrible yahoo search engine? I want Google as default search engine. Here's what I've tried:
a. choose Google over yahoo and then remove the yahoo of preferences: Firefox always springs back to yahoo.
b. download the app 'Google by default'. It worked on previous versions of Firefox, before V 38.0.1. But it seems that the commercial interests behind now bypassed Firefox that, as well, because that 'Default Google' application now no longer works.
c. erasing and then re - install the "Google by default" application. No improvement. If there is no way to deal with this, so I'm dumping FF and switch to Google Chrome.
Hello, I am wary of some of your extensions, please Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily disables hardware acceleration, restores some settings and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).
If Firefox is open, you can restart Firefox Safe mode in the Help menu:
- Click the menu button
click Help
then select restart with disabled modules.
If Firefox does not work, you can start Firefox in Mode safe as follows:
- On Windows: Hold down the SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
- On Mac: Hold the option key during the startup of Firefox.
- On Linux: Exit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox-safe-mode
(you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)
When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "start mode safe."
If the problem is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps described in the section Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems to find the cause.
To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.
