  (1) if I choose 'New window' (Ctrl-N), it re-opens those same three tabs. When I open a new window, I don't want to reopen these three tabs. They are already open in the main window. How can I stop Firefox to do this? I can't find a way to get there.

  A new window opens to the home page (s), so you should set the home page to about: blank or create a bookmark to the defined location: virgins and hold the Shift key and left click to open this page in a new window.

Af: commandLink calls a procedure that made an internal validation (calls a pl/sql package to get a token of Apex connection), then redirects the browser to the site of the Apex. I would get this upcoming Apex site in a new tab in the browser (or a new browser window), but there is no target property on the commandLink or redirection procedure I use (ExternalContext.redirect ()).
