How to replace the CD/DVD-Rom on Satellite Pro 2100
Hello
My laptop's dvd - rom drive is old and broken, now that I have here an other dvd - rom drive, but I don't know how to remove the old dvd - rom without removing all parts of my laptop. Is there some service manuals how to replace the dvd - rom drive?
Hello
I m not 100% sure on the CD/DVD drive replacement on this laptop, but I assume that the procedure is very similar to other portable players.
For the most part the ODD is secured with the screw at the bottom of the unit.
You will need to remove this screw to get out and to swap the drive.
But be careful and don t there if you have no experience!
Moreover, not all readers are compatible and supported in reason parameters master/slave/c-salt. If you n t know which drives are compatible you should ask the ASP in your country for advice!

Hello!
AFAIK, you must remove the keyboard first, before you can replace the CD/DVD drive. Remove the screws on the lower side, and then you can push the disc if you have replaced the keyboard.
It seems to be a bit trickyMaybe you should ask a technician for laptop to help. They can replace the CD/DVD drive for you.

I m not, of course, what car models are compatible with your device. In my opinion the best thing you can do is to contact a Service partner and ask for more information.

How to remove the password of BIOS on Satellite Pro A120?
I have a Satellite Pro with a system password, when I started, I asked Mr. password I was its power off for over a year now, because the number 9 key was stuck in position, so I couldn't even try to type a password.
Two days ago, I've corrected the keyboard. Now the system will just to the point where it asks for a password but I don't know anymore, I tried more than 40 passwords I've used in my past.
So I ve open. Removed the battery during the night. no use. I've read on this forum about the keydisk, parallel dongle. Don t have a parallel port, or floppy disk. I also read another post on this forum about a brand under the RAM that needs to be grounded and I found no such thing.
can someone help me please? There must be a jumper on the motherboard as well.
The system is a Toshiba Satellite Pro A120
Hi Rob
I know that you are so happy to pay for it. Friend of mine has paid 60 Euros for the removal of the BIOS password.
Anyway, please believe me you can not do anything alone. Sascha is right when he wrote about the different ways for the removal of the password and your model has the worst. I mean it can't be deleted so easy.Your laptop uses a sort, I'll call him, code stimulus / response. Service must send a code specific to the seat and wait for the response code. If the code matches the code deleted challenge the BIOS password cvan.
Thus, there is no way to be removed from your own.

DVD copy on Satellite Pro 2100 player Exchange
Is it possible to exchange the internal DVD Rom drive against a slimline DVD burner?
How this is done?Hello
I think you can use several internal hard drives, but the reader must support the master/slave/C-salt settings right.
I downloaded the user manual for this laptop from the Toshiba support home page, and it had listed several compatible players. But unfortunately most of these readers is supported only for DVD playback. ;(In my opinion, you have a point of service authorized in your country for details on compatible drive. But of course, maybe not DVD burner is available for you laptop because it s a bit older.
However, what do you think on an external DVD burner?
Several months ago, I bought an external DVD burner and it was much cheaper as internal a drive for laptop. I use it only at home and so it was not very important for me to buy an internal hard drive -
A new DVD burner for satellite pro 2100
Ive got a satellite pro 2100 and I want to change the recorder to a dvd burner. is there a template I can get which will be a swap of right for in-house or will I need an external dvd burner? Thank you.
HI Jamie,
DVD writers usually come in two varieties, IDE usually designates those intended for 'slimline' and Office Tower systems which are generally mounted in laptops.
The physical form of the player is usually constant models (in this case Toshiba use different brands in their notebooks). The device will have various plastic components fittings attached to it which will need tro be transferred to your new unit and have threaded metal accessories which are used to secure the unit to the laptop. These must also be transferred to the new unit.
You also need device drivers dedicated to this new unit that can are provided on a CD or even be downloaded on the website of unit manufacturers.

How to replace the CD/DVD in Satellite 5005-S507 drive
My cd is defective, I got a new but I maintenance manual have'nt.
Could you gave me the process to replace this drive?
Thanks by avdvance
Hello
The replacement of CD/DVD is not really difficult.
The STRANGE is fixed with a screw hidden under the keyboard. To remove the keyboard you have to remove the thin plastic which is placed above the line of F1 to F12 key. You will then see the screws securing the keyboard.
Remove the screws to lift to the top of the keyboard.
Now, on the left, you will find a screw that holds the ODD.
Remove this screw and now you should be able to move the disc. But attention ;)

-Should be master, slave, or cable selectInstallation Guide would be useful

Hi Rickski, I've changed the discs on the a120 so many times I'm sure I could do it in the dark eyes bandaged, it's really easy and it only takes a few minutes.
If you can give me a few days I'll put together an easy to follow step be step explanation. I ask only for a few days because I have to run and do not have the time to do it right now, sorry, but I will as soon as possible.

How to replace the hard drive internal on Satellite 2450?
Hello!
Last month, after a BSOD displayed (I don't have the code of error message, unfortunately) my laptop decided to not work again.
At the start, he reached the start menu and then displays a black screen... no message, no auto restart... nothing. Just a weird noise coming from the hard drive (like a scratched cd).I tried to format the drive, but without success. After choosing the boot source, trying to read the cd and the black screen appears again, with no message. I checked if the Bay of cd is not working properly and it is. (I think)
So I replaced the HDD in my satellite 2450. A new toshiba ide 2.5 30 GB hard drive. But when I install a new one, the system does not recognize. The control panel of the Bios says that "no hard disk" is available, and I can not change this option. (locked)
With the Windows Xp cd in the drive, the Setup program runs all properly until the 'select drive' format menu, witch says that no hard drive is recognized (with a new drive hard in).I don't really know what to do!
Is something missing in this process?Thank you for the patience
Hello
The laptop did not recognize a new HARD drive. Which is one reason why Win XP cannot follow the additional installation steps
I can't say exactly why the HARD drive is not recognized, but the 30 GB IDE should be ok.
I remember one of my friends had a similar problem with the new HARD drive.
Some hard drives have a jumper (3.5 HARD drive and 2.5 IDE HARD drive too)
Maybe you should check if a rider has been set to the right position (slave?).Check it otherwise that I recommend to test with another new HARD drive
In the worst case the disc HARD controller might be faulty, but it would mean replacing a motherboard

How to disable the standby/Hibernation on series Satellite Pro U mode
Hello
I have on my Satellite Pro U installed Windows Vista professional series.During the defragmentationprocess my machine automatically goes to sleep.
Does anyone know how to disable temporarily on hold, the defragmentation process can be completed successfully.Published by: Admin on December 1st, 2007 08:13
Hello
to disable the standby/Hibernation mode on your system, you should just go to "Control Panel" and open 'powersaver' to change settings powersaver.
The Powersaver contains profiles where powersaving all associates are defined parameters. You can change this profile and disable the sleep/hibernation mode to perform your defragmentation.
It would help if you post what system you have...

How to remove the password of BIOS on Satellite Pro M10
Hi guys,.
I searched all over the web to find an answer, but has no success. So I really hope one of you can help out me.
I have a very old Toshiba Satellite Pro M10 with 512 MB in it. The laptop is protected by a BIOS password that I know. However, the problem is that I want to remove the password of BIOS completely. I know this isn't a big deal, but I find it annoying to type the BIOS password over and over again. Mostly because I am preparing this old lady for my oldest daughter. Furthermore, I just installed Windows 7 and it works well, but I have all the original software Toshiba, for example the HW configuration utility. I expect the download somewhere on the net, but unfortunately this is not as simple as that.
Any help is appreciated!
Thank you
Jeroen
Hey Buddy,
It is easy to remove the BIOS password. Follow the instructions posted by Al - eX.
As new password just enter anything and then the password is removed.I m wondering that you have installed Windows 7 on Satellite Pro M10. It is a very old book, and in my opinion Windows XP would be the best choice.
In addition there are no downloads available for this model and Windows 7 on Toshiba page -

We cannot explain what is happen with your laptop, but always is it BIOS password cannot be standing alone. Maybe someone else has access to your laptop and have done to make you angry, who knows.
BIOS password is very important characteristic procedure and the removal of security is a kind of top secret information and we can not discuss this topic on the public forum. What you need to do now is to contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help. They can remove for you.

How to install the adapter wireless network in Satellite Pro A10
I'm trying to set up a wireless connection with my Satellite Pro A10. I thought it was active wireless, but when I switch the wireless switch, no light comes on and there is no card listed under network adapters wireless (so I guess not).
Is it easy to install a wireless adapter (i.e. can I do it myself or I must be done by a professional)? Can anyone recommend what card I should by (or any other that I should avoid)?
Thank you.
Hello
According to the specification of the specifications your A10 Pro Satellite is WLAN ready. In notebook specification it has listed two compatible WIFI cards:
PA3212U-4MPC (Agere 802. 11b) and PA3273U-2MPC (802. 11a / b).I don't really know if you can use some faster wireless network cards with the g standard. You may be lucky and someone will post here results update WLAN card.
I'm not sure 100% where the WLAN slot is placed but check it please under the lid placed close to the battery.

My DVD/CD drive does not work much more and I want to replace it, but cannot find a way how to remove it from the drive. Anyone able to help me with that? Which screws I need to remove and where? Thank you!
Hi caribman,
As much as I know the ODD of replacement is not so easy. The drive is secured by a screw and to remove this screw, you need to remove the keyboard and the other parties as well.
In my opinion, this should be done by a technician of laptop because it s a delicate procedure. It is not as easy as on the desktop, so I would contact a professional help
