  To activate you need your Apple ID and password. If you forgot their date on https://iforgot.apple.com.

  FWIW, you didn't say what iMac or which version of OSX, but reinstalling OS x is the only way I know.

  You may be able to change the Apple here ID

  Reset of the iPhone won't work - it'll still be hooked on the lock activation - it is what the Apple ID has been designed - in other words turning off the Find iPhone requires that you know their Apple ID and be able to provide the password
