You can hide the menu bar in Firefox 3.6 on Windows, on "view > toolbars" or via the contextual right click menu on a toolbar.
Press in and hold the Alt key to display the menu bar.
Go to "view > toolbars", right click on the menu bar, or press Alt + V T to select the toolbars to show or hide.

  • How can I remove hao123 homepage hijack without resetting Firefox?

I've seen a few posts on hao123 but nothing works. To clarify, I don't have the tools/software toolbar on my computer (at least according to the control panel) and I uninstalled WeChat of Tencent in the case which was the cause. However, I always get the diversion of hao123.

I also ran MalwareBytes and RogueKiller and deleted a bunch of results, but it solves for a little while before the problem returns.

The only thing I have not tried the reset is Firefox, but I would really like to avoid this if possible.

    My questions are:

-Are there a way to get rid of him without resetting Firefox?

-If not, is there a way in general?

-If I have to reset Firefox, is there a way to save on my bookmarks/settings?

    Thank you!

I think that I thought about it. Apparently the free anti-virus I used reported only recently begun to redirect the homepage of hao123. He has not done this when I started using it.

I uninstalled it and the problem seems to have disappeared. I'll leave this open until tomorrow to check that it is not.

Don't worry - if you follow the official guide to Mozilla then refers to all open Firefox, not your operating system windows.

    To reset Firefox:

    1. Open the troubleshooting information page using one of the following methods:

      • Click the menu button

        click Help

and select troubleshooting information. Should open a new tab containing your troubleshooting information.

      • If you are unable to access the Help menu, type Subject: support in your address bar to bring up the troubleshooting information page.
    2. At the top right of the page, you should see a button that says "Reset Firefox" which looks like this:

      . Click on it.

    3. Firefox will close and reset. After it's done, Firefox will display a window with information that is imported.
    4. Click Finish and reopen Firefox.
  • When I reset Firefox it deleted my e-mail account Outlook on my iMac

When I reset Firefox it deleted my e-mail account Outlook on my iMac computer. He also moved my AccountEdge accounting file in the data file of old Firefox on my desktop as well as all backups. It is also Microsoft user data files, and some Word documents in this file. I hope you can help because I don't know how to put these files back where they belong.

Back up and restore the information contained in the profiles of Firefox , it would help for files associated with Firefox.

However in regards to the Outlook e-mail, you can restore with these instructions http://email.about.com/od/outlooktips.../Restore_Outlook_Mail_Contacts_and_Other_Data_from_a_Backup.htm

I'm not quite familiar with the storage of outlook files in Firefox.

  • I can't go back to my home page. It means I have something open when I try to "RESET FIREFOX' HELP!

Please help me. I can't get homepage back even when I try to 'RESET FIREFOX' it indicates just that his embarrassment and im old and I have no idea what to do? I'd appreciate any help. God bless you, jeri

Sorry, it's a little confusing. You get the screen "embarrassed" If Firefox crashed and is not able to automatically restore your previous session.

If you uncheck old windows and tabs, Firefox should start with your home page after that.

Or it happens every time you exit Firefox and restart it?

What page you want as your home page? You can check the setting in the Preferences dialog box. These articles describe the steps:

If Firefox is ignoring your homepage layout and a different page, it could be caused by one of your modules, maybe one who snuck in unexpectedly.

You can view your extensions and disable those unknown or unwanted page modules. Either:

    • Command + shift + a
    • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions.

When you first get Firefox, it searches your system for extensions, so you can see something associated with your security software. But way General, extensions are optional and you do not need to allow an any of them, except if find you them useful.

If you can't do this in "tools > Options > Applications" then you can rename (or delete) the file mimeTypes.rdf in the profile folder of Firefox to reset all the actions file.

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder currently in use:
