How to resize the awesome bar in 10.0

I have Firefox 10.0 on my new computer. I tried to resize the awesome bar as I did on my other computer by the chrome of the user in the containing folder, but there is no chrome user in this folder that contains. is there another way to resize the awesome bar?

Place the mouse pointer between the address bar and the search bar, and it will become an icon of resizing that you can drag to the right or left to adjust the relative size of the two bars.

If you have a few buttons between the address bar and the search bar, you can place the button on left side of the address bar or on the right of the search bar.

Check and tell if its working.

  • How to resize the scroll bars in Windows 8?

    Separated from this thread.

I do not understand why Microsoft, when an operating system existing in a 'New' Win 8 OS, which is supposed to be optimized for mobile/tablet devices the repackaging would remove an existing function to easily resize the tablets (Excel) and scroll bar which must be done more to be worked by fingers on a touch screen.  The regedit solution looks like it might work, but it wasn't a complete answer for someone unfamiliar with this process. (1) does it also work on Win 8RT?  Otherwise, what is the procedure to Win 8RT?  (2) with my keyboard screen, how to do in regedit?  Which screen I should start with?  There is no 'Windows' button on my keyboard to windows screen.  (3) once I can get to 'scrollheight' in regedit, and I want the scrollbar and Excel tabs at about twice the standard size, what-225 is replaced by (-450,-112,?, etc..)?  Help, please.  Thank you.

    Hi Bill,

Sorry for delay in the response. Given that the application relates to how to expand the tabs and scroll bars in Excel. I suggest you to send your request to the Microsoft Office community to better support forum.

  • How to resize the task bar to take advantage of the full screen

original title: upgrade of the screen

I can only use about 2/3 my screen because the bottom with the icons below have climbed about 3 inches.  What should I do to use the John full screen

    Hi John,.

First right click on the taskbar and check to see if the taskbar is locked. If this is the case, then unlock the toolbar. You should be able to change the size by going to the edge of the bar of tasks and when the pointer changes to a resize cursor, left click and change the size. This should free up space on the desktop for you.

I followed the instructions provided by Mozilla.
    IT DOES NOT WORK.
No matter what I do, if I type in the bar location... also called the address bar... also called the Awesome bar... should have been called the useless bar... old sites Web will show that I have not visited in more than a year.
Even if I clear my history every day.
Yes, I select AS my calendar.
Yes, I click AND DOWNLOAD the HISTORY of NAVIGATION.
Still, whenever I type anything in the bar of Useless, old sites Web is suggested.

    Hello

To disable the address bar to not display search history results. You can do this by going to Firefox-> Options-> privacy and select the option that says: "when you use the location bar suggest" and set it to "nothing". I have attached a screenshot that might make it easy for you to locate.

    I hope this helps.

  • I have updated, but how do the awesome bar and the line at home to show?

Miss me the line having the awesome bar and the Home icon.
How can I get this crucial line?

I've updated to the new version and here is the result.

Make sure the toolbars like the toolbar 'Navigation' and the 'personal bar' are visible: "view > toolbars".

    • Is he missing elements then open the window customize via "view > toolbars > customize" or "Firefox > Options > toolbars»
    • If a missing element is located in the toolbar palette and then bring her back in the window customize the toolbar
    • If you don't see an item on a toolbar and in the toolbar palette, then click on the "Restore default" button to restore the default toolbar set up.

  • How can I turn off default 1 search result in the awesome bar?

Since the release of 43, it seems that the Awesome bar fills the first result as a generic 'visit' or 'Search' for anything typed in the bar. It's very frustrating because I know where I want to go, and my search history used to fill specific sites, I went to. This new feature to the Awesome Bar takes you is a generic search engine default search, or right on the first page for a specific site.

For example, it may be a forum page that I regularly to. and in the latest Firefox would fill this page first in my results, which allows a fast navigation. However, the most recent update makes it do that the first result is a query to perform a generic search for what I typed in, or at best to take me to the first page of the site in question, make me have to either type the URL complete, favorite every page ever, I want to navigate to and just use bookmarks now or , or cross my fingers and pray that they default 1 result in the Awesome bar accurately reflects my wishes of navigation (which he never does).

    Is it possible to either:

    1. find the process that causes this 1 default result in the Awesome bar and disable/delete, preferably with extreme prejudice.

2 prevent the features of Firefox that interacts with a browser default search?

In its current form, I deliberately ignore the 1st result of the Awesome Bar, because it never fulfills what I want. Specifically, it will fill never I don't want things.

    Hi Danon72.

To disable the 'Visit' item in the list, please edit the preference browser.urlbar.unifiedcomplete in The editor of Configuration of Firefox to false.

    Hi Lew100

You are in full screen (press F11 to toggle)?

    You see the Navigation bar?

    • Firefox menu button > Options
    • View > toolbars (press F10 to display the menu bar)
    • Right click on empty toolbar space

You can check the problems caused by a corrupt localstore.rdf file.

For example: if I type "site:support.mozilla.org browser" in Google or even some new-tab for Firefox addons, I get a page with the Google search results on this site for that keyword. If I type the same line in the "Awesome Bar", I get an error page.

I would like different settings of Google search through when you use the address bar to search.

This should work if you type search terms and additional parameters such as site:xxx.com at the end.

  • How can I customize the "awesome bar"?

I just got the upgrade forced to 12 Firefox, and while I don't like for much of the new interface, I can cope. That said, I can't stand the changes to the "awesome bar". It's very distracting that it appears highlighted whenever I have my cursor on it, and I don't like that all of the text other than the main domain (e.g. mozilla.org) is grey. Is it possible to return to normal?

You'd be able to get almost all the customizations you want via Add-ons and personas. There is a good post about that and more here.

  • The awesome bar in FF4 does not display the URL of the previous page visited the current.

The awesome bar to view the URL of the visited page, given that the upgrade to 4 FF is no longer the fact. It displays the URL of the first page visited say a goodle search so if you navigate to another page or return to the search results, it continues to display the URL of the old or none at all.

A few possible causes. There may be an add-on that is not compatible with Firefox 4 the cause. For details of how to troubleshoot see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes

The URL does not update can also be caused if there is a problem with the file that stores the browsing history and bookmarks. To see if this is the case, open your profile file, for more details on how to find this see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Profiles

Now, close Firefox and places.sqlite and rename it places.sqlite.old. If there is a file called places.sqlite - journal you can remove it. Restart Firefox and it will recreate this file, import bookmarks from a backup, if browsing history will be lost. Now check if the URL changes.
