Restore my HP Pavilion laptop to factory settings it is a good idea?
I recently accidentally changed my default settings of the police, I did everything I could, except for the restoration of my hard drive to its default settings. However, since I bought this computer a year ago, I noticed faster internet and less connection issues, as well as some other problems fixed. I'd be willing to sacrifice my default settings for performance, so I was wondering if it would be a good idea to restore my computer to its default settings. Also, I currently do not have records to back up my data, so I'll need to do the same. Another thing, my HP Advisor advised me not to restore my laptop unless I really need to.
Yet one thing, lightning struck our House a few months ago. Unfortunately, I accidentally turned off my father the day before surge protector. Anyway, he destroyed all of our equipment to wireless internet, as well as the fan of my father. We then contacted AT & T and they sent us a few tricks, with phone, download order software online to make our internet work. I do not have these registered Web sites and I don't know how in the world I would like to reinstall that software. So, I was wondering if I drop everything this software if I did a factory restore.

__Restoring your laptop to factory settings _
I'm certainly not great computer so I need some help on how I would be able to restore my laptop to factory settings, since I don't have disks for it at all. I HAD PURCHASEED IT OF A FRIEND OF A FRIEND AND ALL THEIR INFO IS ON IT AND I have JUST the WANT DELETED.
See which of these methods apply to you:
Vista recovery media obtain and/or use the Partition Recovery Vista on your computer to the factory settings .
There is no Vista free download legal available.
Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.
Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Also ask them if it is possible to do the recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.
They will tell you how to do this.
Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, Acer, recovery disk/s etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu
Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
Save all data, because it will be lost during a clean installation.
I bought my laptop with microsoft office 2010 is installed. I restored my laptop to factory settings, the product key sticker is faded so I used jellybean keyfinder to get it. While the re-activation of it Microsoft office said "this is not a valid product key Office...". »
What should I do to make it work again?Please note that if you use the Windows 7 product key located on the certificate of authenticity attached to your system label, this will not work, it is only for Windows 7. You need a product key Office 2010. Also using the value default key OEM SLP for Windows 7 does not work with Office 2010
If your computer comes with a trial version of Office, you need to get a trial key or buy a full license:
Trial license:
Full license:
Get the key;
If you purchased Office 2010 and get no valid product key error to refer the article mentioned below:
If I reset my laptop to factory settings it will wipe windows also?
I have a new hp laptop (for me), I want to erase all the stuff, news, programs and diverse, that the previous owner has on it. What is the safest way to do this? If I put the laptop to factory settings this will also wipe away windows and other programs with it?
Yes, without the disc. It has a separate recovery designed for this partition. You should have no problem... It will fill, and then do the initial Setup Wizard, so you can set your laptop to your personal settings.
How can I get my recovery disks to work? I just got back my laptop to factory settings.
I have a HP Pavilion dv5 laptop MODEL # 2045 X, (Windows 7 home Premium) Serial # CNU0202M8K
Due to some problems, he was advised to return our computer to factory settings. I did as instructed by my computer, my computer has been provided with a set of 5 recovery disks made and who is given to us in a global market by the seller of Best Buy Geek Squad. After "wiping the computer" and return to the factory settings as I was not able to load the recovery discs when inserted the computer simply wonder how I want open, only option was to read the files, I looked at the and he didn't file labeled 'start' or 'auto start' or 'autorun' so do not know how to install these recovery disks they have programs and important files on them. Please help me!
Hello:
You cannot run Windows Recovery discs.
I guess that the disks are labeled 1-5?
You insert disk 1 into the DVD player. Restart the PC.
At the beginning of the HP welcome screen, press the F9 key to start the start time menu. Select the DVD - ROM drive, and then press the Enter key.
Watch then a line will appear on your screen to hit any key to boot from the DVD. Press a key.
The PC should now boot from the recovery disc and you simply follow the instructions on the screen.
Before using these disks, make sure that you have backed up the files you want to keep, like everything you have on the hard drive now will be lost once the recovery process starts.
The only thing I do not understand in your message, it's that you say that you have restored your computer to its factory settings.
The recovery disks will just do the same thing. He won't do anything more or less on the recovery disks that is on there now.
