How to restore my Internet Road Runner once manually, I reinstalled Windows XP?

I used an old Time Warner intallation disc, but it gives me an error message "Unable to load vt\\vtres resourcedll. DSR.dll or vt\vtres.dll.

Hello

Did you clean install?

Once you re-install your Windows XP, you will not be able to restore anything, unless you take a backup. I suggest you to install the driver network card and software of roadrunner from the manufacturers Web site.

original title: How can you recover files, folders, software and drivers after reinstalling windows xp family? Please help, I've lost everything!

When the update Norton Internet Security 2009 to 2011 on reboot, windows cannot open.

Root\systems32\hal.dll Windows prevented windows from opening.  My machine in a Dell dimension 8300.

On a Dell website, I found a method of recovery if you can reinstall windows xp from cd.  I was able to do it, but lost all my files.  How can I recover all my fortune, images, software, drivers, etc.?  There must be a way to extract this information from the hard drive.  Any help is the material and can save my marriage!  Thank you.

    Hi MarkS_02127,

Since you've reinstalled windows, you will need to re - install applications once again, you will be lucky (if you format the drive) data on your computer. You remember that location, it was in my documents? If yes it just open C:\Documents and settings and locate your old username, you will find your old desktop, Favorites and Documents.

    I hope this helps.

  • Internet worked well until I have Reinstalled windows vista 64 bit, now my Internet does not work, says that I don't have a driver from the Internet.

Internet worked well until I reinstalled windows vista 64 bit on my Dell laptop, now my Internet does not work. Went into Device Manager and there is no network adapter. I tried to reinstall the driver that came with my laptop disk but it doesn't seem to work, says that I need an updated driver. I don't know what else to do, I have to install a new driver from the Internet? Ugh becomes very frustrated!

    http://support.Dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=Gen

Go to the website of the manufacturer of your computer/laptop > drivers and downloads Section > key in your model number > look for the latest Vista drivers > download/install them.

The computer you are using now if you have an Internet connection with the other > download / save drivers > copy them into Flash Drive > transfer / install on another computer/laptop.

  • How can I recover my old email after you have reinstalled Windows 7?

Under the direction of the MS Support, in order to solve a problem, I had to reinstall Windows 7. After installation, all my old email was absent. Support MS staff member told me that he was not trained to retrieve my email and sent me a link to try it on my own. I failed miserably. I managed to get a few email (Comcast) but only from the date of the re - install and none of my old stuff. In fact I managed to do it in triplicate. As you can see I'm not a computer person. Can someone help me? I need step by step instructions.

    Thank you

  • Internet slowdown on a PC after reinstalling windows 7

Thus, as part of my COMPUTER classes, I had to show I could maintain a computer. Then I took mine apart and put back together, checked it worked then wiped the HARD drive and reinstalled windows 7 ultimate 64 bit version. It is up and running now, but the speeds I get from my internet connection is incredibly slow.

My main PC (that I'm having issues with) got up to 2 MB download speed until I reinstalled. Now, I have gone on speedtest.net and discovered that a ping takes 1074ms, I have a download speed of 0.66 Mbps and upload of 0.19. My laptop on the other hand, (both using the same network without wire in the same room on the same desktop) 30ms ping, D/L 14.97 and 0.81 upload speed. I tested it several times, making sure that the two ping the same destination, but the results are always the same.

I reinstalled the driver wireless twice, I reinstalled the LAN connector twice and I have reset the BT homehub twice again the speed didn't get closer than two days ago. I spent many hours fishing trawl a few forums looking for advice, but I can't find any solution that helped. I tried a wired connection, I used invites them to drop and to renew the INVESTIGATION period. The only thing I noticed which seems strange to me is that neither of my a IPV6 connections.

Can someone help with this problem?

    Hi, Will,

Welcome to the Microsoft Community Forum.

I suggest you check out article below and check.

    Important notes:

Antivirus: Data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means there is a risk of data loss.

Internet Explorer: The Reset Internet Explorer Settings feature might reset security settings or privacy settings that you have added to the list of Trusted Sites. Reset the Internet Explorer settings can also reset parental control settings. We recommend that you note these sites before you use the reset Internet Explorer settings. Reset Internet Explorer is not reversible, and all the previous settings are lost after reset.

When you disable the Antivirus: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attack.

Let us know the result. We will be happy to help you further.

I lost these icons and don't know how to get back them.  They are not in this toolbar customization.

    2 ways to recover...

1 do a system restore. Use a date where the icons were present on the notification as your restore point area.
Start button > Search box, type system restore > press the Enter key > uac prompt > click on choose a different restore point > next > select dates as your restore point, until the click > next > finish
To sit and wait. The machine restarts when it's done.

2 use this tutorial: use the three method.

  • How to restore the My Documents & Settings folder after a reinstall of XP

I just install Windows XP3 Pro on Windows XP2 Pro and I have not backed up my files (pictures, mp3, doc, etc.). Is there a way I can recover these files?

Its possible, he didn't delete the old user information and its always there somewhere.  Try to go in the Panel. Folder options | View and uncheck Hide extensions of known file types and check the option to show the hidden files and folders.  Then do an advanced search and include files and folders hidden in the Advanced property search and search for (*.jpg and *.gif for images, *.mp3 to the music and.doc for documents with *.dbx OE messages if you used OE).  If you can't find them, then they have been abducted or are inaccessible.  For the latter, you can try to connect in SafeMode as administrator, and then do the search again, just in case.

Otherwise, as noted by Syed, without a backup you are out of luck.

    Hi George,.

You may need to boot into the recovery console and fix the Master Boot Record (MBR).

Step 1: To boot into the recovery console, refer to this article.

Description of the Windows XP Recovery Console for advanced users

Step 2: Run Fixmbr and Fixboot from the recovery console commands.
