  There is no Vista free download legal available.

  Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

  Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

  Thank you.  I'll do it and change my Windows Update settings.  BUT, FYI, in an act even more incredible, the same night I posted my question here, my computer was said upload, and I was still in place at 03:00 (when Windows is set to d/l and install updates).  I went to the kitchen for a bit and returned to my computer to find a countdown - he downloaded updates and "will re-start in 7 minutes" or so and counting down... Once I realized that I just typed as a new task and it reappeared.  The problem I have is that since then I had no toolbar or start menu.  I tried to access it through the control panel that does not work; I tried Ctrl Esc, which does not work, I tried everything I can think of? What's weird, that's all my desktop icons are great, and for some reason if I have Ghost click my mouse in the lower right of the screen I open random programs usually on my toolbar, I can even drag on my desk.  I tried to find common ground, if my toolbar is there somewhere?, do to slide it back on my screen, but it was done without success.  Another thing is when I start my computer in safe mode, my toolbar appears with my Start menu icon?  Anyone know what may be the problem?  I am running windows vista family premium. operating system: 64-bit

  Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
  A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
  The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

  There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

  If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

  Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

• Recently, I did the update of security and had 17 updates to install for Windows Vista Home Premium SP2.

  Recently, I did the update of security and had 17 updates installed.  After installation I closed the computer for the day.  The next time that I started it upward, I received a stop error message 0x81ecbe79 and he started a reboot loop and I kept getting error code 0 x 81 different whenever it restarted.  The first 4 digits are the same with the rest changing with the exception of the 79 at the end.  So far he has done about 30 times until I finally stopped him frustration.  Also sometimes it would ask if I wanted to check on the web for a fix, but he continued the loop.  The loop stops at different places during the boot sequence.  Once he got almost completely before it restarts and a couple of times, it was in the screen of welcome and rebooted.  Is there a fix or do I have to do a clean install?  The way it is now I'm not sure that I can make a back up of my wife's Family Tree Maker files and get it all.

  Plug a Flash Drive/Memory Stick, BOOT with the Live CD, and you should be able to read the hard drive.

  When the desktop loads, you will see at least two drive hard icons on the desktop (one for your hard drive) and one for the USB key.

  Click on the icons of hard drive to open and to understand which drive is which.

  Click the icon for the USB drive and click on "Actions > Change the read/write mode" so you can write to disk (it is read-only by default for security reasons).

  Now to find the files you want to back up, just drag and drop them on the USB. When you're done, shut down the system and remove the USB key.

• Drivers are interfering with Windows out of the standby mode after installation of Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 2.

  I have these sides:

  CPU - 4.7

  RAM - 4.8

  Graphics - 5.9

  Not - or at least not likely (but the drivers, firmware or software updates regular for the device using Vista may helo).  The ratings are based on this device using the disks appropriate for your version of Vista device and it.  How it works in Windows 7 (if it works in Windows 7) is from THESE drivers and the operating system (and other components on this computer).  Even if you can and did move to Windows 7, there is no guarantee that you would get all the numbers even better less significantly better numbers - although it is certainly possible amd I know that it has been the case for others who have updated.

  The best place to check the updates of device driveer (or firmware or software related, if applicable) is either the manufacturer of the computer if it came with the computer or the manufacturer of the device.  Their websites should have the links and downloads and they will be the most recent and the best available (better that what you could get through Microsoft - in fact, I suggest strongly you never use the drivers supplied by Microsoft and always bring manufacturers directly. What is the most recent will be available to give you the best possible results (before the upgrade of the unit such as adding more RAM tp the video card if your system and it can accept more RAM).

  You cannot use Windows 7 device on a Vista machine drivers.  Not only which won't work (if it allows even the facility) and will not improve ratings but that could seriously damage your system or device.  Please take my word on it and don't even consider that it.

  Just check out the manufacturers for updates of device (drivers, firmware and/or software) and keep your system up-to-date with the latest available, and that's the best you can do.

  You will need to make a direct download of the SP1, SP1 is no longer available via Windows Update.

  You don't say what that 'little' version of Vista you have (32-bit or 64-bit) and x 86 in your question is the 32-bit version:

  Click Start > right click on computer > left click on properties > it will tell you it.

  Select download OK "bit".
