  I guess you mean keep the Firefox shortcut on the taskbar and Start Menu, and it's just the icon that looks like a generic Windows icon. If so, clear the cache of your icon:

  I had move the icon of the desktop Disk Defragmenter. However, I accidentally deleted. Also, I ran a disk cleanup after deleting it. I realize only the next day. Now when I try to use Disk Defragmenter, it indicates the shortcut cannot be found. When I search for (defrag.exe) and when I try to open it, a window opens that is black with a few words and then disappears.   I use Windows 7 Professional. In a completely unexpected way (probably after installing Nero essentials 8) pictures of my shortcut (with the classic arrow) icons have changed. Now ALL my shortcuts are represented with the same icon files that are not associated with any program (generic icon).  Now, it is very difficult to distinguish things and to distinguish between files and programs.

  Notice that this happens only with the shortcuts, all other icons are good.

  IconCache.db is no longer available in Windows 7, or at least I can't.

  I don't even know if it's a problem of cache if the icon itself of shortcuts is damaged or missing.

  I tried restoring the system five times, I try every restorepoints that would be prior to the problem, but it does not solve.

  Is it possible to solve the problem without having to reinstall windows?

  problem solved. Manager was a tweaker tweaker "EnhanceMySe7en. After a software update of the tweaker, it configured itself to not display the arrows on shortcuts. What made the photo of these icons didin't show correctly. It also makes the iconcache.db file unavailable. I solved the problem by setting her the right way.

  I would suggest trying the following steps and check if it helps.
  a. Click Start, type "Local Group Policy" (without the quotes) and press ENTER.
  (b) in the left pane, click a expand Configuration user, models of administration, Start Menu and taskbar.
  (c) in the right pane, right-click right on remove Action Center icon and click on modify.
  d. Select the option Enable and check if that helps.

  My guess is that you have a damaged or invalid certificate entry OS X KeyChain, but to directly answer this question, I would say that consider you something like HTTPS Everywhere. Note, it is not available for Safari. It is available directly through the Google Chrome browser extensions.
