  Six months ago, I deleted some files with specific names. A couple weeks later, I deleted these same files to the trash, and accordingly the information cited above, these files should now be removed permanently.

  Why, if these files have been deleted definitely four or five months ago, they appear on a list of files scanned by my anti-virus software. (The anti-virus software identified their location as $Recycle.Bin.)

  I would greatly appreciate it if someone could explain that to me.

  There are several levels of "deleted".  First is the trash, second is when you empty the trash, but even in this case, there may be more than one basket and this is probably what you AV is to find.  You can check in instead of just looking in the Recycle Bin, you open Explorer and navigate to the $RECYCLE. BIN.  INSIDE, you can find today's trash > and there are perhaps more than in this capture.

  Even when you clear all the recycling bins, the fragments are still on the hard drive, but they are not indexed by the system.  They will be replaced by more but if you really want to do something unrecoverable you emplay other methods

  Drive G is usually used by business networks to store user information. You company Help Desk or system administrators should be able to help recover the deleted user information.

  If not on personal computers (XP) it is usually c:\documents and settings\ {username}

  but you should be able to find it in your Recycle Bin and recover from there (if you have not already emptied your recycling bin).

  Assuming you are referring to automatic (Windows) updates (vs upgrades)...

  Ideally, you would never, EVER use system restore to "Cancel" a patch, Service Pack or update of IE (which leaves the system in a State "confused" or "torn")!  Instead, uninstall the update, Service Pack, or the IE update & reboot. If that does not resolve the problem, then try System Restore.

  As you have learned the hard way, System Restore does NOT restore deleted files anyway.

  One time, I was trying to make my yahoo account the default e-mail account. However, in the process, I remove my Comcast email account. The Comcast email account still exists on my computer (iMac with OSX Mavericks 10.9.5) with all folders and etc. I am trying to restore this account so that I can see some old files I had with some specific information that I need.   To read the content of a message, double click on the subject line of the message. Once read, the message gets so connected at the top of the screen, these are accumulated and must eventually be closed one by one. I'm sure that I have setup where the double line object by clicking to read the content of the message was not necessary. I can live with the double-click to read but have to close each message from the top of the screen link becomes tedious b/c, on which they accumulate on and.   You can activate the message pane by pressing F8 or by going to the Menu bar and selecting pane display-in page-Message.
  Then when you single click a header to select the message appears in the messages pane.

  After you open messages in tabs and neglect them close, you can right click on one of the message tabs and choose close other tabs and then use the x to close the last of them. This saves you from having to do one at a time. Or better yet, close the message tab after you read.
