    Hello

you will most likely use the webutil.pll that comes with the installation of forms & reports (% FORMS_HOME%/forms). You will find a package as 'Webutil_file_transfer' and a 'AS_To_Client' function With this function you can easily transfer files from the application server for the client. If you want to have a progress bar is displayed, use 'AS_To_Client_With_Progress '. Subsequently, you can run the *.exe with a client_host command, also the webutil library.

    I hope that helps you.

  • How to set up a link ODBC Oracle's x 64 to SQL Server on Windows?

    Hello
I am running an instance of Oracle 10 g 2 x 64 on Windows Server 2003 x 64 which needs to extract data from a SQL Server 2005 which must be x 86 but I had the opportunity to test it in a x 86 and x 64 environment.
I created ODBC links on my Oracle server with the x 64 and x 86 ODBC Administrator and they work very well (with the SQL Server driver included in Windows).
I configured an init + SID .ora and edit the tnsnames.ora and listener.ora as you can see below. Then I rebooted the listener and the show of status that everything works as expected. If I have tnsping iondb+ the result is: OK (20 ms) .
I created a link DB: create iondb link of database to connect to sql_server_user identified by sql_server_password using "iondb."
And this is the error message when I try to select a table or a view, I received:

ORA-28545: error diagnosed by Net8 when connecting to an agent
Cannot retrieve the text of the message NETWORK/NCR 65535
    ORA-02063: preceding 2 lines IONDB

Did anyone had this error before or have any idea how to solve this problem? If not, I'll try the same solution I've done with my MS Access Database (see this post: between Oracle 10 g x 64 and Ms Access ODBC connection )

It seems that Oracle x 64 does not support linking ODBC to SQL Server... too bad.
HS is not supported on x 64. It took quite sometimes to find the information.

Published by: APQ on December 2, 2008 10:55

    Hello

HSODBC is not supported on Windows x 64. That's why you get the error ORA-28545
What you can do is to install DG4ODBC 11 g on a 32-bit computer.
DG4ODBC can be separately installed Oracle, for example on the SQL SERVER server if you can.
But it is only supported in 32 bit, too.
You can download on this site:
    http://www.Oracle.com/technology/software/products/database/Oracle11g/111060_win32soft.html
    ==> Oracle Database gateways 11g Release 1 (11.1.0.6.0) for Microsoft Windows (32-bit)

The last option would be to create a virtual machine on your X 64 machine with a 32-bit Windows and DG4ODBC 11 g.

Please let me know if you have any question.
    Kind regards

  • How to set a field in a form of DML to only display?

It seems that it would be obvious, but I can't figure out how to set a field in a DML form read-only.  Thanks for all the ideas.

The most obvious thing is to define the type of item to display only. Save Session State to Yes if the value of the item is required in after not submit treatment or if the value is only for display on the page.

Alternatively, if you want the element to appear as a normal text control, but do not be modifiable, set the item text field and the custom attributes type to readonly .

  • Oracle Forms 10g Web question

    Hello
Would appreciate advice on how to set up 4 paintings on my form.
I want to do is to have a "research question" Web on the top 1/4 of the screen visible all the time.
This canvas will be three buttons-defining the type of query that must be performed.
    __
The 3 buttons will call a go_block to each block B2, B3 or B4 - each set with a different canvas.
    __
Is it possible that I can have the appropriate Web pop up on bottom 3/4 of the screen?
Essentially, I want to lock the top 1/4 of the screen, with an area of results on the rest.
    __
    Thank you
    Sandy

    Sandy,
This could be achieved by using a content canvas (CC) as the main search (who would be the top 1/4 of the canvas). Each of the results (blocks 2, 3 and 4) can be displayed by using a stacked canvas (SC) (for each block of results) in the low 0 of the penal code. The built-in Go_Block partially controls the display of the correct SC, for navigating to an element in the block would cause the canvas, as the article is assigned to become visible. If you need to clear the results section, simply check if each of the SC program results are visible and hide them using the built-in function Hide_View.

    Hope this helps,
    Craig B-)

  • How to set up the schema and users?

    Hello

I'm looking for the best option for the implementation of the user and the schema in my used Oracle instance only for reports. Version using Ora11g.

    Background-

Oracle Ora-Ainstance, is the live OLTP system.

Oracle Ora-B instance will be the new system of reporting , I am building this new system as a reporting instance. My question is how to set up users and safety for installation below?

    Planned - approach

Instance Ora - has, some subsets of data is moved to instance Ora-Bnight batch. Using the dblink, I'll be the data.

    Required users on Ora-B.

    1) ETLUser. -Will extract the data instance Ora-A and load B Orapending.  (User charges/written in the tables only)

    2) ReportViewer - read only access on the tables in the instance of Ora-B, for the generation of reports. (User reads only the data in the tables)

You want all report data in a new scheme called 'Report', in the basis of the declaration.

So, how I setup user and schema?

    Thank you

    Krishna

Unless you are using versions of the previous decade and material, I do not recommend a separate database.  Material and modern versions run mixed workloads much better that the older systems were, so the need for a statement of the separate databases is dwindling.  The current trend in the industry is to CONSOLIDATE, less material treatment and bodies less.

This has the additional advantage that your refreshes need not go on the network - you get faster performance of refreshment.  They share a buffer cache, so you can get the benefits of data already in memory.  If you are concerned about the damning reports of the treatment, the resource manager may set limits as needed.

Your planned approach to ETLUSER and REPORTVIEWER is solid - good separation of responsibilities.  I would just create these ORA - a, the size of the SGA and CANCEL accordingly and allocate storage, assuming that the hardware supports the need for capacity.

Users and schemas are almost synonymous concepts in Oracle.  They are separated in other platforms to database (such as SQL Server).  In Oracle, when you create a user, you have created a pattern.
