You did not indicate EO to leave a copy of messages on the server, so when he downloaded from the server, they have been removed from it.  Go to tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties | Advanced and check the box leave a copy on the server for the future.

How can I configure Outlook Express to receive messages to different mailboxes (via POP3) but to send messages and responses using only a single SMTP account?

In other words, I need to download via POP3 messages sent to the * address email is removed from the privacy *, * address email is removed from the privacy *, * address email is removed from the privacy * but I want to send messages using Mar SMTP service associated to * address email is removed from the privacy *

If I get a message like * address email is removed from the privacy * I want to answer as * address email is removed from the privacy *.

    Is this possible?

You can do this if the Server SMTP allows you to send from a location that you are not connected via their internet service.  So if you have this permission, go to tools | Accounts | Add mail.  Then under the account of property | You want to set the server for incoming mail to the POP3 account, and then the SMTP protocol for the other account that you use to send servers.  And then indicate whether or not the server requires authentication, and if yes, then you will need to put in the user name and password for the SMTP server it.  Under properties. Advanced to define appropriate ports that may be different from the default value according to e-mail accounts.  You can also check the "leave a copy of messages on the server" for accounts POP3, if you access messages from multiple computers.

Once you have an account set up, then you can set others upward in the same way, but change the POP3 properties for each while leaving the SMTP ones the same.

Once you have all that in place, you might want to backup things in case something goes wrong: www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#6

  • set up outlook express and change the ip address on windows xp

I would like to set up outlook express and to change my ip address on windows xp home

Outlook Express is built into Windows XP.  To run it, click Start > all programs > Outlook Express .  To configure an e-mail account, click Tools > accounts > Add > Mail .

    To change your IP address:

    1. go in Control Panel > Classic view > network connections .
2 right click on your network connection.
    3. click on Properties .
    4. double-click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) .

However, you probably cannot change your IP address if it is assigned by your Internet service provider.  How to get your computer IP address, and why would you change?

I recently bought a smart phone and set up the email.

Now, all the e-mail goes directly on my phone.

How to configure Outlook Express 6 to allow a copy of my mail to get to my phone and Outlook?

Please don't say Outlook and Outlook Express in the same sentence. They are completely different programs.

In OE: Tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties | Advanced - Check: leave a copy of messages on the server. On your "smart" phone, you must do the equivalent.

OE or your smart phone, you want to check for delete after X days. Enough time to get the messages on both, but not exceed your space on your e-mail server.

Even if you have me say what kind of phone and which provider you use, I could not help you any further. If you don't see the option on your phone, call your support of wireless technology. You pay for it in your contract and they should be happy to help you.

  • How to recover deleted Outlook Express emails

    original title: permantntly deleted email

How can I get several years of e-mails that have been compacted and deleted Outlook express and are not in my deleted messages folder?

Two reasons the most common for what you describe is disruption of the compacting process, (never touch anything until it's finished), or bloated folders. More about that below.

Why OE insists on compacting folders when I close it? :
    http://www.insideoe.com/FAQs/why.htm#compact

    Why mail disappears:

    About file Corruption:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/IE/community/columns/filecorruption.mspx

    Recovery methods:

If you use XP/SP2 or SP3, and are fully patched, then you should have a backup of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin (or possibly the message store), copied as bak files.

To restore a folder bak on the message store folder, first find the location of the message store.

Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, the .dbx files are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in the Solution Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder options | View.

Close OE and in Windows Explorer, click on the dbx to the file missing or empty file, then drag it to the desktop. It can be deleted later once you have successfully restored the bak file. Minimize the message store.

Open OE and, if the folder is missing, create a folder with the * exact * same name as the bak file you want to restore but without the .bak. For example: If the file is Saved.bak, the new folder should be named saved. Open the new folder, and then close OE. If the folder is there, but just empty, continue to the next step.

First of all, check if there is a bak file already in the message. If there is, and you have removed the dbx file, go ahead and rename it in dbx.

If it is not already in the message, open the trash and do a right-click on the file bak for the folder in question and click on restore. Open the message store up and replace the .bak by .dbx file extension. Close the message store and open OE. Messages must be in the folder.

If messages are restored successfully, you can go ahead and delete the old dbx file that you moved to the desktop.

If you have not then bak copies of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin:

DBXpress run in extract disc Mode is the best chance to recover messages:
    http://www.oehelp.com/DBXpress/default.aspx

    And see:
    http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#4

A general warning to help avoid this in the future:

Do not archive mail in default OE folders. They finally are damaged. Create your own folders defined by the user for mail storage and move your mail to them. Empty the deleted items folder regularly. Keep user created folders under 300 MB, and also empty as is possible to default folders.

Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the CPUs, slows down sending and receiving and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes and has even been responsible for the loss of messages. Your up-to-date A / V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more information, see:

  • How can I stop Outlook Express to erase emails received on my iPad

When I look at my emails via Outlook Express, the program deletes ALL my emails, I received on my iPad (read and unread messages). Is there a setting in the Outlook Express program that could prevent this from happening?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Using POP3 in Outlook Express?

If so - is not Outlook Express failure or iPads - is the lack of understanding.  If you use POP3 and do not leave messages on the server - so you literally make a copy of messages on the server with Outlook Express and remove server.

Probably just iPad connects to the server (imap or something) and looks like what is on the server - if you have POP had everything, there is nothing there.

See how you can configure your e-mail with your email provider to leave email on the server, if you intend to continue to work in this way.

  • How can I reinstall Outlook Express

    Hello

Just doing a refresh of the PC and have lost Office and Outlook that has been set up to receive my work email.

I've also been locked out of my account that I've updated my cell number so do not have access to my product key to reinstall. Arghhhhhh.

If I purchase is there a way to make sure that I receive all my old emails or will Outlook back.

You will need to access your account (email), which is your proof of purchase (for Microsoft Office/Outlook - Outlook Express not...) * if * you have no other copy of said proof of purchase/product key/installation.

Regarding your emails - that depends entirely on regain you access to your email account and how you got the email it in your old Outlook (POP3, IMAP, Exchange, etc.) and what you have left on the Server vs. download on your local computer and if you have backed up your local PST files with your earlier version of Microsoft Outlook.

  • How to migrate from Outlook Express to Thunderbird?

I'm moving from a Windows XP computer to a new computer with Win7. Do I first move from Outlook Express to Thunderbird on the old machine (and what is the procedure?) and migrate them to the new, or configure Thunderbird to the new and export data from Outlook Express from the old machine? Thank you.

    Hi Jerryg,
After reading your query on how to Outlook Express to convert Thunderbird, I searched on the web. Finally, I have concluded that there is no manual method to convert Outlook Express messages in MBOX file. This process can be done in two phases, which are:

1 convert DBX file in PST
2 then convert PST file in MBOX file
