How to stop Firefox for Android to crash on my Kindle Fire.

Installed OK, but when I opened, opening page appears, takes about 5 seconds and then disappears. How can I stop this?

Firefox for Android is known to crash on the Kindle HD. We have a development version that should solve the accident at http://nightly.mozilla.org

I use a HTC D316d (CDMA) with Android 4.3 in China.
Up to v36, Firefox to work without problems, but v37 crashed seconds after starting. I reset all the data, but without success.
Then, I installed the nightly version (38 at this time here), and it worked without problem.
It updates everyday, and now with v.41, the same problem again, Firefox hangs at the first page loaded.
As I put the bookmark page as my home, I can open Firefox. It will crash in a few seconds the display of web pages like de.yahoo.com or www.google.com.
There is no error message, the phone comes back just to her homepage.

  • Hey, how to use the files as in Firefox for Android?

Hey all. Since the add-on of Ghostery for Firefox Beta for android (36) has not worked, I contacted Ghostery customer service, and they responded with a beta version of the Ghostery add-on to see if it would work. There is a file as... I was wondering, how can I use it in Firefox for android? To make use of this add-on? Thank you!

    Hi Ererer

I have never installed an add-on third party directly to the Android operating system (only on the desktop). If you find the as in your folder Android downloads or via the Android file manager if it is in a different directory, try tapping on it and see if it will open in Firefox for Android and settle. Don't know if it will work because this cannot carry on Android and I do not see in our documentatino: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/find-and-install-add-ons-firefox-android

Please let me know if the above works.

    See you soon!

  • How to enable offline mode in Firefox for Android?

I know how to do it in your desktop Firefox. Cannot find an option in a mobile version (Android c. 2.3.6 Firefox v. 31).
I have a web application that uses appcache, but I still get "Server not found" error when you try to access it while the device is in offline mode.

There is no option in offline mode on Firefox for Android. You're the developer of the web application? You would file a bug on the question?

  • How to export a client certificate on Firefox for Android?

In the process of registration on www.startssl.com a client certificate was added to my Firefox for Android.
Now I want to save this client certificate, but I don't know how I could export it to the mobile version.

I would also like to use this certificate on my Firefox Desktop, is it possible?

    Thanks for any help!

    HI SumoAlex,
Thank you for your question. I apologize for being a little late in coming in responses. If we are unable to find an answer, please post your question again once.

I understand that you would like to know how to export the client certificate to the Android and also use it on the desktop.

IT may not work on the desktop, but I don't know that you can turn on remote debugging in Firefox. The cert.db on the desktop stores all certificates. (is it the same on the Android device?)

Try the Cert Manager add on for Firefox for Android. Ref stackoverflow.com

    I hope this helps.

  • Why Firefox for Android crash when I try to play any multimedia content or plugin?

I got this ASUS MEMO Pad unit for 6 months and Firefox for Android has never been able to play any media or plugin content without crashing. I tried to play with the appropriate flash installed plugin flash and without and it crashes every time (it should not crash even without the plugin - it should do).

Same HTML5 video and audio mp3 will cause an accident each time (with tap to play on or off).

There is already a bug filed for this and I don't know the exact cause of it, or what to offer as a solution.

  • How to change the resolution of the screen in Firefox for Android?

    Hello
    I have a Galaxy Note 3, which is display resolution is 1920 x 1080.
If I go to http://www.whatismyscreenresolution.com with Firefox, I see that it shows my screen resolution 640 x 360 (even with the "ask Site Desktop" checked and tiny text size ' ").
I tried with other browsers, and some of them were able to display 1920 x 1080.

    The question is:
How can I use Firefox for Android in screen resolution of my screen (which is 1920 x 1080) MAXIMUM?

Could you try to open this page: http://dev.jeffersonscher.com/resolution.html

The script should show the screen resolution 'effective' as well as the device pixels, which gives the real screen resolution. (The page is not recalculate when you rotate between portrait and model guidelines, so you'll need to manually reload after having done this.)

Note: There may be rounding errors for more extreme values.

Assuming that the device pixels is closer to 3 to 1, you can try to change a hidden parameter to see if it improves things.

Open a new tab and type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press the Enter key on the keyboard. You can bookmark this page for future alterations.

In the search box, type css, and then press the keyboard entry.

When you find layout.css.devPixelsPerPx press the button Edit and change the value 1.0 (in general, you simply remove the sign-). Press the OK button.

Return to the first tab and reload.

Did that change how make real sites do you use?

  • How can I force reload a page in Firefox for Android?

I use Firefox for Android. Can how I force reload a page that Firefox does not account for the content in the cache?

Firefox is not properly rendered http://news.google.com/ (page makes simply as a small white rectangle). I want to force Firefox to force the reloading of the page of the site rather than use the content corrupted in my cache. On the desktop, I can do that by pressing the SHIFT key and select Refresh from the menu.

Many issues of the site can be caused by corrupted cookies or cache. To try to solve these problems, the first step is to clear cookies and cache.
The Firefox cache temporarily stores images, scripts and other parts of websites while you browse.

Note: This will be you temporarily disconnect all sites, you're connected to.
To clear the cache and cookies, follow these steps:

    1. Tap the top right menu. It is the icon with 3 bars. On older Android devices, you will need to press menu hardware key, and then click more.
    2. Press settings.
    3. After that, you will pass to the settings screen. In the display settings, look under the privacy and security section, and then select clear private data.
    4. You will then pass a list of which can be erased. Select the 2 following for deletion:
      • Cookies & active connections
      • Cache
    5. After they have been selected, press the clear data button to actually clear the cache and cookies.

This will help you with your problems? Please let us know!

  • How can I remove the Get Firefox for Android box on the homepage?

Recently, I noticed that I constantly see a box on the home page of Firefox asking if I want to send me a link to Firefox for Android. Is there a way to delete it? I tried the solution with a similar issue in 2012, but the solution doesn't seem to work this time: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/937849#answer-370222

These kinds of "ads" should have an option to delete, as I already have the application installed and do not want to see it more. Firefox is usually of choice, and a button to mark the div html with style 'hidden' should be very simple to implement.

I think it would be great if there was a button to reject individual code snippets that you do not want to see again. But... I'm not aware of such a thing at the moment.

If you look through the recent posts about the excerpts on the home page, you can find a number of different methods to hide their. For example:

  • How to view pdf files without having to download on firefox for android

I use a program of electronic medical records using Firefox for android on a Tablet Samsung Galaxy Pro 12.2. I need to view the pdf files of patients on the tablet. So far, the only way I've been able to do this is to download the file first. It would be more effective if I could just view the PDF on the Galaxy Tablet without having to download it. Is it possible to do this with Firefox for android? Thank you.

Adobe has never made a PDF for Android plugin. Which is what is needed to achieve the desired behavior. I have already cited the only option that comes closest.

The files are downloaded. Using a plugin browser does not prevent the data being stored locally on your computer.

  • How can I disable typing suggestions in Firefox for Android?

I have a terrible problem with the reviews I previously typed (mainly in FB) picking up my screen when I'm typing a new comment. I can't see what I'm typing and all my previous comments appear to me to be inserted. If I click on one of the previous comments, inserted in the space where I am typing. There seems to be no way to close the suggestions and get them off the screen. I have never, ever, want to say the same thing twice. Can I please get rid of this feature altogether? I use an Asus Nexus 7 with the latest version of Android. Thank you, I can't seem to find a way to solve this problem.

Disable suggestions of Firefox for android? or tour the history?

You can disable the history in the settings menu.

    • Customize > Home > History (on this and select Hide - do this for all the menus on this page)

    I hope this helps.
