How to stop the connectivity between two computers that use the same IP address... ?
Today, I managed to connect two computers with the same IP address. But now it is to be feared. for example, a person can access my computers using my IP and MAC address. So now, how can I stop the connectivity between these two computers. should what setting I use to stop.
Hello
1 have. what measures you taken to connect 2 computers with the same IP address?
2. How are the 2 computers connected?
3. how exactly you want to stop the connectivity between 2 computers?
I want to tell you that 2 computers on the same network cannot have the same address. Each machine must have a unique address to identify it. A private network, as a home network connected to the internet, can be connected to a router to connect to the network, will have only 1 address, public IP address.
In addition, if we know the IP address of a computer along the user ID and password, we can access the computer/shared files.

Q2. What equipment I mean as a router, hub, NIC etc.? Please specify if these materials will be required for two PCs or for one.
Q3. What type of Internet connection sharing will be better to be wired or wireless (cost, speed and security wise)?Q4. I need two IP address both part of connection to the internet between two PCs?
Thanks in advance.
Hi Zeff,
You can make Windows 7 the main computer for internet connection and then host the Windows XP computer.
For more information, see the article:
Start here to set up a home network in Windows 7
Networking of computers running different versions of Windows
With respect to the equipment as a router, hub, NIC depend on the connection (wired or wireless) you want to use. You can also check with the ISP (Internet Service Provider) for more information.
For more information, see the articles:
What do I need to connect to the Internet?
Wired and wireless connections have great benefits, but they have also some disadvantages.
Wired connection:
> Faster and more robust than wireless connections but not so flexible when positioning of computers and devices because you must be connected to your Super Hub with an Ethernet cable.
> Safer than wireless connections, but not so convenient for users of laptops and other mobile devices.
WiFi connection:
> Wireless! If you can connect when you want. However performance may be affected by walls, electric interference etc.
> Ideal for users of laptops and other mobile devices, you can connect devices more but slower than wired connections
> Very safe when used with higher level (WPA) encryption. You can connect your smart phone to your network wirelessly for faster browsing.
However, unauthorized users could try to use your connection (which explains why security is so important).
There are two types of IP addresses. external and internal. Both computers have the same external IP address but separate internal IP addresses. Each device in your network will have its own (internal) IP address. The external IP address, who sees the Internet is actually assigned to your router.
Hope the helps of information. Let us know if you need help with Windows related issues. We will be happy to help you.

Try to set up a direct parallel connection between two computers in Windows XP Home edition
I tried to set up a direct parallel connection between two computers in Windows XP. I have the right cable (CAT 5 Ethernet connection) and you can set up the connection on my own laptop, but when I go through the installer on another laptop it create new connection-establishment of advanced connection--> when the next window opens asking me to choose between "accept incoming connections" and "connect directly to another computer" (which I need to select) for the second option is grayed out and not can not be selected.
The same thing happens when I try to implement the same connection between my laptop and the desktop we have. All of these computers are running on Windows XP service pack 2. I really need help with this because I'm about to start pulling my hair.
Any help would be very, very, much appreciated.

How to configure a direct cable connection between two computers in Windows 7
Hello
I'm trying to set up a connection by serial cable with serial cable RS232 DB9 female-female between 2 PCs, one with Windows 7 and Windows 8.For the initial check of the cable, I used a terminal program such as HyperTerminal, PuTTY, RealTerm. But none of the PC was able to read/write data from the port. I shorted her transmit and receive pins (2 & 3) at one end with a jumper (PIN stapler) for a loop to return the data to the Terminal. Terminal exits each letter typed twice, that is to say the cable and the COM port works correctly for two computers. But with 2 PCs connected, the Hyperterminal does not output nothing written of another PC Hyperterminal.Possible suspects: -.1. in the device-> PORTS (COM and LPT) Manager - there are 3 elements in both PCCommunication Port (COM1), Communications Port (COM2), the Printer Port (LPT1).while I plug / unplug the cable at the PC, nothing changes in this section.2. the drivers for this type of cable to not installed.3. different OS installed on the PC.4 or I have to create a new connection , and then connect directly to another computer as mentioned in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/305621/en-us . But I didn't know how to do these steps in Windows 7/8.Any idea about this problem is appreciated.The problem is your trying to use both ports 'exit' to connect two computers / never going to work.
VGA ports are for v's t. 'If' they are able to c.p.. otherwise, you will need to use a HDMI to the TV which is also an exit from the c.p.
If you notice your computer and your monitor using a DVI port connection not a VGA.
And no you can not use a DVI cable either :)

Hello
I connected two computers, one running on windows xp sp2 and others running on windows xp sp3 via com using RS232 port via link Modem DFM-562E ++.
I am able to dial numbers from a PC successfully.
But when I do a direct link between them (one as a host, the other guest) through the com port, I get error 777.
Is this because the two PC's using different service packs?
Help, please.
Thank you & best regards
RaviIt is not the service pack - although you should have installed sp3 now.
Your message is not clear: have you been able to connect successfully computers using your modem D-Link? How did you do that? Will there be a modem in the second computer?
What cable are you using to establish a direct connection between the com ports on both computers? If you have purchased this cable online, please provide a link to the site where you bought it.
Please describe the physical connection between the two computers. For example, this is how you connect to the Internet by dial-up services:
computer 1-{(9 broches) RS-232 serial port}-{RS-232 cable supplied with the modem}-{modem}-{phone cord (RJ-11 modular plugs at each end)}-{telephone wall jack}

How can I synchronize time between two computers?
If I have computers connected via a LAN, how can I get to synchronize their time of a computer authoritative? I do not fear that they have the true, but just time that they have the same time. I looked at this page here configure various things in regedit so that one is prepared to act as a time server authoritative:
However, I'm not sure how to actually do other computers process as their source. As I know if you mention the date and time properties in windows, there is a section to automatically synchronize with an internet time server. This is where I would specify computers do not have authority to read the authoritative? And what I would put the server? My first thought was the IP address, but when I try that it just gives an error after trying for a little while.I do that with windows XP computers, although the layout setting date/time in windows 7 is basically the same.Any help would be appreciated.It is an interesting question.
Of course, if your LAN is connected to the Internet, the obvious solution is to synchronize two computers at the same time source Internet, such as time.windows.com and time.nist.gov (see http://tf.nist.gov/tf-cgi/servers.cgi).
The time real internal clocks (RTC) in most computers don't are not particularly accurate, but if you want to do is have two computers Sync to the same clock, put all these settings from registry return to their default values and see the response from Hans-Georg Michna here--> http://www.pcreview.co.uk/forums/sync-time-among-pcs-lan-ntp-t244334.html
The "windowsservername" corresponds to the "display name" of the computer. Do right click my computer, select properties and select the "Computer name" tab
If the computer name is not recognized, it is probably because the NetBIOS name resolution is not enabled. To test, open a windows command prompt (start > run > cmd > OK) and type
ping ComputerName {press Enter}
Note that you do not use the two slashes back in the ping command. For example, if the computers named Alice, Bob and Carol are on the local network, on computer, Alice, you would type
Bob ping {press Enter}
But if you try to synchronize the time on Alice using Bob as the time source, you could type
NET time \\Bob/set
To test the command net time, run it without parameters selected. For example:
NET time \\Bob
You should get the following output (following comes from Windows 7, but it should be basically the same for XP):
Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7601]
Copyright (c) 2009 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.C:\Users\LemP>net time \\Bob
Is currently at \\Bob 07/10/2013 14:30:30The command completed successfully.
To enable the NetBIOS name resolution:
- Open network connections (start > run > ncpa.cpl > OK)
- Right-click on the icon for your network adapter, and then select Properties
- Select "Internet (TCP/IP Protocol" and click on the button 'properties '.
- Click on the button "Advanced".
- Select the WINS tab
- Select the medium radio button to "Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP"
- OK your way out

I am unable to share files between 2 computers 32-bit and 64-bit windows 8. Please tell me a solution.
The number of bits of the processor is not influence it. If you are having problems sharing files, the bit of the processor is just a coincidence.
What is the error you get when you try to share a file? And what method do you use to share? Homegroup? Right-click to stock option? Or something else?

Hello.
Is - this transfer copy machines a lot of large files between two updates 64-bit SP1 W7 (Enterprise and Home Premium) with a regular network cable without a network?
Thank you in advance. :)

How can I synchronize catalogs on 2 computers that use the same location for the image files?
I do not understand Lightroom.
For example, I use LR4.2 on a desktop computer and a laptop computer. Two computers (Windows 7 64-bit) go to the same image files. On my laptop in a folder, I have 42 master images and 5 virtual (virtual events) for a total of 47 images. But when I open LR4.2 on the desktop I do not see the 5 virtual (virtual events) on the 42 master images.
Why can not I see the 5 virtual events since I can access the exact file and how I see the virtual evidence created on the laptop on the desk.
It has no function in LR to synchronize catalogs.
If your pictures are on an external hard drive, you can move the file catalog to this external hard drive, and then you will have a catalogue on your desk and another on the laptop. Just use the one on your external hard drive.
If your pictures are on a network drive, you can not put the file catalog here, so the only answer I know is to manually transfer the catalog back from one computer to the other file.
Why can I not see the 5 virtual events since I can access the correct folder
Lightroom does not save your work to the photo files. It stores your work in the Lightroom catalog file.

How do a link led between two forms that independently of moving
Hi all
I am looking for many tutorials how to create something like this:
http://turbulence.org/works/MyPocket/graph/
(the video is on the right)
But could not.
I have for each shape, I do 2 circles (move separately) and between them, making a shape that works as a link, related on each circle on the sides... is it clear? I need the link to 'stretch' and follow the two circles...
Do you know if there is a way?
Thanks in advance
m.
Use something like this technique from an old blog post, I did years ago:
I created a layer named string and a layer called Kite. I drew a mask on the layer of string that forms a gentle arc, added the effect of outline with a width of 3 pixels and paint on Transparent selected. The race goes from the left edge to the right edge of the layer in the chain, and it is important. The string layer is slightly narrower than the model to make it easy to work with. The last step with the layer of string is to move the anchor point to the left most vertice point of the mask at exactly a value X 0. It is also important. The two layers are converted to 3D.
The Kite layer is simply a square solid with a mask in the shape of the kite and the anchor point where is used the string.
The following terms are added to the string layer:
String scale:point1 = position;
point2 = thisComp.layer("Kite").position;
L = length(point1, point2);
w = thisLayer.width;
r = L/w*100;[r, value[1], value [2]]
String Orientation:
t = thisComp.layer("Kite");
l = thisComp.layer("String");fromPoint = l.position
atPoint = t.position
lookAt(fromPoint, atPoint)If you look closely the language, you'll see that I'm calculating the distance between the anchor and then dividing the difference in the width of the layer and multiplying that number by 100 to arrive at a scale factor to make the string layer is always the same length as the distance between the end of the chain and the kite. The part of the Orientation of the expression simply indicates the string to the wing. There is a problem which must be overome. The string layer is perpendicular to the wing and this part is important, the rotation must be changed to-90 to get things to normal. This isn't another expression, it's just a value that you put in.
The kite layer also needs an expression to point the wing at the end of the string. The expression of the orientation of the kite is basically the same as the string Orientation expression with definitions for the to and the reverse point. It looks like this:
Kite Orientation:t = thisComp.layer("String");
l = thisComp.layer("String");fromPoint = t.toWorld(position);
atPoint = l.toWorld(thisComp.layer("String").anchorPoint);
lookAt(fromPoint, atPoint)Now the kite can be moved and the string will follow.

Share Internet connection between two computers
I have a laptop running Windows Vista Ultimate 32 - bit and a desktop computer running Windows XP Professional 32-bit. Both have the latest service packs. The laptop is connected to my WiFi and I need to share it via ethernet. I could just use Connectify but I don't feel like it. What is the best way to share?
If the office is not close enough to get a cable (or you don't want to drill through walls), buy a wifi USB adapter for the office.
If it is close enough to run a cable but the whole of the Ethernet ports on the router are used, buy an inexpensive Ethernet switch.

E/s Ethernet between two computers
I have two computers running labview. I'm trying to generate a signal on one and read it on the other. Connection between two computers is ethernet. The problem is that NEITHER MAX cannot detect a network device. I have ping successfully the signal sent to the computer via the command prompt. Any ideas on why MAX can't detect the signalling computer?
Try running the examples on the same machine. If you can't find the example works between two instances of the application of different on the same computer, then you certainly won't operate on two different machines. Once it works, try using the IP address instead of the host name of the computer. If still no luck, try disconnecting all other networks on both machines.

Remote access share folder between two computers
I have two computers connected by a CAT5 cable, have all two firewall is enabled. This network has a server, DNS & DHCP server or router. Only two computers XP SP3.
- Firewall is enabled
- File sharing and printer checked with selected custom list
Two types of tests:
Test 1: I configured two computers with a static IP address and enter the IP subnet 10.0.0.0/24 network in the custom list. The PC - A (10.0.0.1) and typing\\computername or \\IP_AddressPC - B (10.0.0.2) access. Access to shared folder has no problem with this setting.
Test 2: I changed the dynamic IP address static IP on both computers and let XP itself generate dynamic IP 169.x.x.x. I went to the list of custom and changed in 169.0.0.0/16, this settings I'm unable to access the remote folder.
- I could not access by \\IP_Address get a message error "network path was not found.
- \\Computername took almost a minute to open a window, but he has now shared resources, such as file sharing.
- I can ping by IP address, but could not ping by ComputerName
Issues related to the:
- Class B is allowed in the custom list?
- Can I use the IP address dynamic Windows XP for the connection between two computers or on multiple computers?
- Why class C has worked very well and no class B?
- Is it because I used XP dynamic IP or custom list accesses no class B or both?

Hello
Part of a Wireless cable/DSL Router is a DHCP server.
The server assigns the IP address to network computers are configured to Auto obtain IP address.
If for some reason, the computer cannot connect to the router, it cannot obtain an IP address and Windows assign a default IP 169.xxx.xxxx.xxx. This IP address is not functional for regular internet IP and network.
Since you don't have any DHCP server on your system, you must use static IP as you did before.Jack-MVP Windows Networking. WWW.EZLAN.NET
