  Duplicate the file system tree that you have on your old computer to your new computer. Use your home network to access your old computer to your new computer drive and just copy the files required for your new computer and disks that are the same driver on the new machine you letter.

  You can download or copy photos to your computer, then insert the document (s). The following link shows you how to download on your computer:

  Pictures will reside in: C:\Documents and Settings\Utilisateur\Mes Documents\My Pictures\Picasa - similar folder in Vista. You can use Explorer Windows 8 (no more Windows Explorer) to see them, please press and hold Windows key then press E.

  Treat the situation as if you have a corrupted user profile: fix this http://windows.microsoft.com/en-AU/windows-vista/Fix-a-corrupted-user-profileuse.  If that is the only available Administrator Profile (you need to be an administrator to fix this), enable the Hidden Administrator Account (HAA) using http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx?&lang=en&cr=US&guid=&sloc=en-us&dg=microsoft.public.windows.vista.administration_accounts_passwords&p=1&tid=d20f9db4-7b2c-48be-a087-7835dc2a9055&mid=d20f9db4-7b2c-48be-a087-7835dc2a9055.  If you don't remember the password, try nothing because that's probably what you (or seller) did during the installation.  When you transfer the files, only forward those that relate to your old user profile (unless you want to transfer more - it is you).

  Once that is done, don't forget to disable the HAA to save it in case it is necessary once again and for safety reasons (since people often try to hack into systems using this account).  Do NOT use the HAA as your administrator account because if you lose the only administrator on the system account or it is damaged again, then you're watered.

  You can connect the device and the computer via a USB cable.

  1. Insert the memory card in the camera.

  2. use the USB cable supplied with the device to connect to your computer.

  3. use Windows Media Player 11 for Windows Vista to sync the music on the memory card.

  You can copy songs from the windows Explorer and paste it on your SD card.

  I have a folder of images in Lightroom on A computer.  They have been entirely reworked appreciation / organized and I would like to transfer the file integer (including Lightroom settings) to another computer.  Is there a simple way to do this?  Can I just copy and paste the file from computer A to computer B - will be that the process to maintain the Lightroom settings?

  "The catalog import" adds the catalog imported to the existing one.  It does not replace anything, AFAIK.

  When you 'export catalogue"you specify folders to export (select them before exporting).  That does not remove the images from the source, but of course you can remove (once you have made sure they are imported safely in another computer).  I did not quite understand your question about unwanted data.

  Note that it is not a good idea just to copy or drag files images and .xmp files to the 2nd computer and simply import the images.  Which will be imported images and changes (from the .xmp file) but it is not the history of changes (the order of changes).  That is only in the catalog, so you should "export as catalog" on the source computer and then 'import catalog"on the destination.

  If you want to reduce the file size of a PDF document, you must use Acrobat. If you do not have Acrobat, you're certainly welcome to try for http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html. Acrobat Pro, there are several options to reduce the size of the file, including the file > save as other > PDF of reduced size and file > save as other > PDF optimized.

  then go to 'My computer' and select the drive for the memory card. so, you see folders that are currently on the microsd card.
