How to turn on Atheros without keys FN on Satellite A210 (WIN XP)?

Hello

I had to downgrade to Windows XP Home edition because of the need to work.
Everything works well, but for the WiFi connection: I think the case is that the Atheros is disabled by default and I should pass it on by pressing FN + F8. But the function keys do not work on Windows XP. Is there another way to turn on the Atheros?

Thank you

Hello

Usually the Wlan should works on XP without using the FN + F8 key because as I m not wrong it s passed to WLan as default setting.

You should first check if you have used the right WLan driver. Check if Device Manager wireless network adapter has been properly recognized.
Then set the Wlan antenna turn on. This switch must be positioned on the side of portable (but don t know exactly which side :().

By the way; Take a look at the wireless network card, advanced properties. (-Wlan card-> properties > Device Manager) There you should find a tab advanced settings or something like that.
Check all the simple settings. Here, you can also enable and disable the Wlan card feature!

Best regards

    Hello

    Try the next method.

Hold the left SHIFT key you click Shutdown to temporarily prevent hybrid boot.

Let off the laptop computer for 10 seconds.

Start by typing esc button permanently as soon as you press the power button (do not wait for the prompt) and see if it will access the start menu - if that is the case, select f10 to open the Bios Menu.

  • How do I uninstall the program "Utilities" since the Satellite A210

How can I uninstall the program "Utilities" since the Satellite A210. In Control Panel I can uninstall the program "Value Package" but not "utilities".

With the A210 I can't work with the FN keys and on a German Toshiba support website I found this information:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB0402UR0000R01DE.htm

So I'll try this installation sequence:

    -Chipset utility
    -Display driver
    -Toshiba value added package V1.2.40
-Technical support utility Flash Cards for Satellite L500 (see this thread, why I want to do):
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=46135&TSTART=7
    -V1.0.25.5C Toshiba-Utilities
    and no doubt
    -Installation of V2.00.09 equipment

I hope that the FN keys will work after this installation sequence.

  • How to turn off the FN - key toolbar on the top of the desktop on Satellite P200?

I have a portable Satellite P200 that has shortcuts to function continually buttons ghosts in and out at the top of my screen. How to turn off that I never use the function buttons and it is very annoying when you try to use the toolbars

    Thank you

    Willie

To disable the toolbar, simply go to start-> programs-> Toshiba-> Flashcards (or something similar, I only know that the application has the name of "Flashcards")
and there is a small configuration tool for these "Flashcards".

Just go to the folder of Toshiba and the verification of the application by the top so you can turn it off.

  • How to remove the password of BIOS on my Satellite A210-17Z?

    Hi friends,
I left my Toshiba Satellite A210-17Z unused more than 2 months and when I want to use I forgot my BIOS password. I searched everywhere on the net how can I reset it I have not found an answer. All of the given methods does not work.

Can someone help me to show me how I can solve this problem.
    THX

    Hello Benmem

BIOS password removal is very important security feature and we can not debate on this subject on a public forum, especially on a support forum created by laptop manufacturer. In the past, we have discussed several times about this.

In such a situation, you should contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and they can do it for you. All I know is that Toshiba has several different methods for BIOS password removal.

    Hello

You can replace the plastic key or the entire keyboard plugs only.
This is why you should check it again if you need only the keys on the keyboard all.

All parts laptop like keyboard or button caps can be ordered from the ASP in your country!

  • How to turn off the function keys on an Ideapad U410?

I played a game for a while, and I got this laptop from the latter. I went to use my key f3 for a certain purpose, but on the contrary it increases just the volume. I don't know how to disable these keys since I have no real use for them. If I could help, it would be much appreciated.

This element can be changen in BIOS,

go to the Configuration tab and then search for switch HotKey and changue the Legacy mode value.

If you have Windows 7 pre-intalled only when you turn on, press Fn + F2

Else with windows 8 make this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=517MPIbGdbk and then search for entering the UEFI BIOS options.

  • How to turn off the NumLock key?

Yes, I googled this! I spent two hours Googling that!

I followed the instructions on editing my registry and changing the settings of the BIOS. I came to the conclusion that these solutions don't change the start-up for Num Lock. But I want the Num Lock is completely disabled. When I press NumLock I won't do anything! I don't want the 6 on the num pad button at the right point... I don't want the rocker!

    What should I do?

    Hi neverendingnoise,

You might have tried it before, but here's how to disable it through the registry:
    1. Click Start, click run, and type regedit to open the Windows Registry Editor.
    2. In the registry, open the sub folders.

      HKEY_CURRENT_USER\
      Control Panel\
      Keyboard\

    3. In the case of keyboard, you should have a string value named "InitialKeyboardIndicators" to a value of 0, 1, or 2. Here is the explanation of each of these values.

0 = NUMLOCK is turned off after the opening of the session.
      1 = disable caps lock.
2 = NUMLOCK is enabled after logon.

  • How to turn off the function keys? G62-346NR

Hey all, I just signed up to please bare with me if I posted this in the wrong section, thank you!

Anyway, I got want to disable my function keys upper (F1-12) that I'm a player and it requires that the function keys, but it doesn't seem to work in the game, so he just activates the function of the selected key. Then, I looked everywhere and I can't find the manual for this laptop, so I wondering if anyone of you guys/girls know how to disable the function.

    Thank you!

In the BIOS there is a configuration tab. Inside, there is an option to toggle the mode of action of Fn keys. Maybe it's interfering with your game mode. Try disabling it to see if it helps. If yours has an InsydeH2O BIOS then it should substantially the same as this picture.

  • How to turn off the function keys on my laptop?

IM using a compaq presario CQ62, windows 7.

On my laptop each function key does something different, F1 for help, F2 to adjust the brightness of the screen, even for the F3, F4 Opens a dvd I watch the program, etc.

On an online game I play is a NECESSITY for these keys back, his increasingly frustrating growth, someone please help!

Windows does not control it, the computer manufacturer does.  Reference Dell calls this QuickSet, Compaq has its own brand of control software.  In some cases, the computer manufacturer has quite enough to add a plug-in to the Mobile centre that allows you to customize it.  To see if your computer manufacturer has been so well thought, press Windows-X to start the Mobile Center.

If there's nothing here, other places to watch where the manufacturer may have added controls is the keyboard control panel, or believe it or not, sometimes the mouse control panel.

You can enable it in the BIOS.

In addition, you can activate it enabled or disabled in the hardware configuration of Toshiba. There is a tab named Illumination. Here you can se this option on and OUTSIDE

Is it possible to get a new key and replace it myself? I know that some other laptop producers do the same thing,

    Hello

Well, it's very easy to replace the keys.
    Please check this thread:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=20727&MessageID=76283

But if the key is broken you will need to replace the entire keyboard.
To remove the keyboard, you have to remove the cover plastic thinking above the F keys.
Under this coverage, you will find 2 crews secure the keyboard
Remove the two screws and remove the cable from the flat keyboard which is connected to the motherboard.
