  • The output on my Macbook Pro is not giving me the drop-down list, & happens either in the port of the helmet or digital port and neither one is what I need. I tried turning off the computer and hold "Shift"' Control', 'Option' with the power-o ".

    The output on the sound output box has no drop downs. The audio output suddenly disappeared and when I went to the 'exit' sound in 'sound preferences' the only thing that would show was the headphones.  After that I tried a couple of things suggest that 'Helping Apple', sometimes in digital form & everything that happens you can't change for something else.  Things I've tried suggested by Apple press help were the "Shift control option buttons & button / stop at the same time."  or press the Option, the command, the P & R key as soon as possible after you have pressed the button On.  Hold down until after the second gong during a manoeuvre.   This did cause the digital option, but none of these 2 is the one I need.  Help

    Perhaps, it would be useful to know what that is exactly the one you need. Are get you an external speaker output or anything like that. Also, it would be useful to know the operating system you are using.

  • When the Admin sign on the office comes to the top, but after that the computer does not respond when the user tries to do anything. There are actually turns off the computer with the power button.

    Original title: user profile

    My administrator user profile does not work properly, but I have a user profile that has activated the parental control that worked well for about a year and yesterday when this user logs on the desktop comes up, but after that the computer does not respond when that user tries to do anything. There are actually turns off the computer with the power button.  I ran a virus scan and spyware scan in my user admin profile and he has not found anything.  I don't know what to check.

    Hello rhunter15,

    There may be a program to interfere with Parental controls so that we can try a few things to see if we can determine the application or program that is causing problems.

    First of all, we run System File Checker to see if you have a corrupt file system.

    • Click Start
    • Click on all programs
    • Click Accessories, and then right-click on the command prompt.
    • Select the Security tab and choose "Run as Administrator"
    • Click on command prompt
    • Type SFC/scannow.

    It will scan and repair any damaged operating system files.

    To determine if there is a program because of a conflict, we recommend that you perform a "clean boot" of the computer. A clean boot is designed to disable programs and services in the background as much as possible. This helps determine which service or program can be the cause of the problem.  For more information about how to perform a clean boot for troubleshooting, click the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base.

    KB 929135 - how to solve a problem of performaing a clean boot in Windows Vista.
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

    Once you have finished the clean boot, check again and see if you get the error of parental control.

    If please post again and let us know if that helped pinpoint the problem or if you still need help.

    Thank you

  • What is the best way to properly activate the Lightroom Student Edition? Is the edition of students a permanent program, or it disables it after that student 2-4 years, as some other programs which are the versions?

    I just bought the student Lightroom edition! I am very happy to use it and start creating beautifully modified pictures, but I'm a little unsure on a few things. He says that I have to prove my eligibility to use student edition which won't be a problem, but what is the way the faster and easier to present this evidence? I also fear that the student edition will be temporary and I have purchased this program only to have it end after 4 years as some other programs that are student versions. Is the student a permanent program of Lightroom edition that I will have for life or it will turn off after I graduate?

    When I bought my academic version of Lightroom, it's a whole package. Inside was a yellow card with instructions on how to check that I qualified for the academic discount. I presented my academic e-mail address and other info, as requested on this yellow card. Less than 5 min. I received my serial number. Very simple. I had no problem whatsoever.

    There is only one version of the program Lightroom itself. The only difference lies in granting licenses and pricing. If you are eligible for the academic discount, by all means use it. You buy the same Lightroom program that someone else does. It does not expire, there are no missing features, and it can be upgraded when new major versions are available. These updates will cost the same as they cost to anyone else, regardless of how they bought Lightroom.

    You can move confidently until you have received your serial number. The only thing you do differently pays an initial purchase price lower because of your academic status.

  • Could not turn off the computer error: program not responding

    Original title: Power off the computer - Windows E

    When I try to shut down my computer, I get a box that says that the program is not responding.  I can stop by pressing the "Exit Now" option until all blue bars shortly arrive in the window.  In the contrary case, it crashes and I have to start over.  My system is Windows XP and my notes show there have been references to the two programs on the error message - #678 and #F14.  It's a minor inconvenience, but I want to fix it.

  • Delay in setting off the computer

    When I try to turn my computer off or put it to sleep, there are about a two minute delay to hit button the computer turn it off until the screen next comes up asking me if I want to sleep, restart or power off the computer.  This just started recently.   Any suggestions on what could be the problem?

    Shutdown problems are usually caused by a program or process that won't come out gracefully. The program or process may be against malware, or may be legitimate (for example a pervasive like Norton or McAfee antivirus). If you use Norton or McAfee product, uninstall it and replace it with a better program like NOD32, Kasperksy or Avast (free). The Windows Firewall is enough for most people. Shutdown problems can also be caused by old/badly written drivers so make sure that all the drivers are updated.

    A.the first step should always ensure that your computer is free of viruses/malware.

    http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_Malware

    B. If the computer is free of viruses/malware, the drivers are current, and no program Norton or McAfee is installed, then do boot minimum troubleshooting to see what program/process is the culprit:

    Remove the Vista updates; two ways to do this:

    1. a System Restore to before the updates:

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > System Restore > restore time/choose your own date > next

    If you use Norton, disable it before using the system restore.

    If it is impossible to enter the Normal Mode, do a Safe Mode system restore:

    Press F8 at the startup/power and the list of startup options, use THE ARROW key to select Safe mode > and then press ENTER.

    System restore steps according to the info above.

    Also:

    2. click on start > right click on computer > properties > Windows updates down the lower left corner > updates installed in the lower left corner in the next window

    > then click the one that you don't want > uninstall will appear at the top > uninstall it.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In addition, on the page where you clicked "Installed updates", click on change settings at the top left corner it
    > Change update settings in the next page of AutoUpdate to "check for updates but let me choose etc" > OK ".
    When you take a look at pending updates, you can either download/install them one at the time, namely the update causing you problems.
    > or if you do not need an individual > right-click on > UAC prompt > hide it
    If you have problems to restart, read on:
    If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:
    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
    Just upgraded to 13 - then - I mix 8 off the computer?
    alvanp
    Versions of elements first are independent versions. You can have several versions on your computer at a time. Just use one at a time.
    I suggest that you make sure that all is well with 13 and 13.1 updating before you deactivate and uninstall 8.0/8.0.1. Disabling and uninstalling are not the same. To disable the program, go to the open Project Help Menu/disable. More on this if necessary. To uninstall, use the usual configuration panel if you are using a Windows computer.
    What operating system is involved?
