Does not need a new computer does not correctly out of the box. This problem is Acer. not yours or Microsoft. I've set USB and DVD as a priority higher from startup in the BIOS. I get the alternative start menu, choose DVD or USB, but it starts just Windows 8.

  I tried to boot from an external device in settings PC - general settings in the charming bar, but it starts off directly with Windows 8 too.  the DVD plays fine films, and if I plug the boot device dvd W8 sees them and their content because I expect too much.

  Any ideas on how to boot from another device.  I would like to take at least a decent backup using Acronis.
