How to upgrade RAM on Satellite L300-1BW

Hey!

Agreed I would update my RAM. But I've never owned a laptop, I have been using your desktop since the first day.

I was wondering if someone could point me in the direction of little RAM that is compatible with my L300-1BW.

Prefferbly 3-4GB RAM would be really decent. Thank you to

Hi dude

If it's your first laptop then I would recommend first read the manual of the user that is stored on the Toshiba laptop.
I think that this should be the first step before using a device for the first time.
I did it with my new Full HD LCD too before using it I first read the user manual.

Why I m suggesting consulted the user manual? Its very simple.
You will find all information s. check the extension memory of Chapter 8.

The laptop can be upgraded up to 4 GB (2 x 2 GB) and you can use the modules of PC2-5300. If the laptop supports GL960 Express chipset then the PC2-5300 modules would go as PC2-4200 due to a lower speed of the FSB of GL960 Express chipset.

Notes; The 32-bit Windows recognizes THAT 3.2 GB of RAM. Only 64-bit OS can handle more than 3.2 GB

See you soon

  • Satellite L300-1BW - max memory per slot

    Hello

I have a problem with my L300-1BW. Recently, I replaced my memory and upgrated to RAM 2x2gb.
As I replace my Celeron T1600 1.6 Core 2 Duo T7500 2.2 my Toshi proc get so much that I consider myself as RAM upgrade even more.

We might find that L300-1BW plug here:
    http://www.Toshiba.co.UK/discontinued-products/satellite-L300-1BW/

And it says: "maximum extension: 4 096 MB.

I was wondering if it means limiting 4-GB PER SLOT? OR TOTAL?

I'm stuck, cause I typed "dmidecode t memory" on my OS of mint and stated as follows:

    Memory controller information «»
    Error detection method: no
    The capacity for error correction:
    None
    Supported Interleave: one-way Interleave

    Hey Buddy,

Can you be a little more detailed, please? What do you mean with very slow?
How long it takes so that it starts Windows?
How long it takes to start an application?

I have to say that Windows XP 64-bit wasn t popular and there is no official support for Toshiba for this OS. If you use Windows XP, I recommend to install the 32-bit version.

Did you test your laptop with the factory settings? It works properly with a preinstalled OS from Toshiba?

I m also owner of the Satellite L300 and I use the preinstalled Windows XP 32 bit of Toshiba. I m very satisfied with this laptop, it s fast enough and need very little energy. :)

    Hello

General virtualization is not available on all computers laptops because it s based on the material and it must be supported on the CPU.
On many models with processor supports virtualization, this option is added in the BIOS. Sorry, but if this option is not available in the BIOS settings nothing you can do about it.

You certainly need to deselect this option because if she checked s then the cell phone would turn off / Unplug the WLan card to save battery.

I do not understand why it has just stopped working - drives my lan are up-to-date. Help..!

You can see the WLan, which means that the WiFi is enabled correctly.
But have you used the good encryption and encryption password in order to connect to the WLan router?

  • Update CPU and RAM for Satellite L300

    Hello I have a TOSHIBA Model 32 bit: Satellite L300 (PSLB8E-01200PGE)
And I wanted to know what CPU I could go too. ?

and also the default value of RAM is now at: / 3GB.

    Thank you

    > And I wanted to know what CPU I could go too. ?

CPU upgrade isn't part extensible official.
    What does that mean?

This means that laptop manufacturers (no matter which) don t support these updates.
Computer laptop manufacturers don t provided no information that CPU is 100% taken in charge and compatible.

I guess the number PSLB8E-01200PGE model belongs to the Satellite L300-1 has 3
The RAM can be upgraded up to 4 GB, but your 32-bit system supports only 3.2 GB of RAM
So the upgrade of RAM makes no sense where you'll still use the 32-bit operating system.

    Regarding the upgrade of CPU:
The CPU must chipset and BIOS support.
The laptop seems to be equipped with chipset Mobile Intel GM 45
    http://Ark.Intel.com/products/35134/

Under compatibility, you can check taken processors supported by the chipset.

But even if the chipset would support the new processor, BIOS could not provide this support.
    Upgrading CPU is always tricky.
