  These parameters are reminders - pointers to functions that are called by the DLL - and there is no way to duplicate this purely in LabVIEW. Search this forum for the word "recall" and you will find similar questions (for other DLLs). My application has a custom error code file, stored in -- errors.txt, but my executable on the Windows XP machine can't find the custom error file and returns only the string of appeal for all errors that occur.

  There is a difference between your method and mine. My method will move the EOF marker so that it gets placed after all what I have written in the file, which in this case is the empty string. With your method the EOF marker is not moved. To perform the equivalent operation with your code, you will need to use the right to set file size after the write function to set the file size to the length of the string that you wrote in the file.   The only way you should not sign the cod is if no controlled classes/interfaces are used. The easy way to find out is to open the SignatureTool and see if your application requires signature. Otherwise this says icefrost1 's good enough solution.
