  • How to use the fingerprints on the Satellite A100 sensor?

    Hello

I have a question about my Satellite A100-847. I, near the touchpad, a fingerprint sensor, but I didn't know how to use it. When I searched the technical manual I found that this model he assumes to have this kind of sensor.
Can someone help me with this?

    Hello

I think the user s manuals document is written for all models (PSAA9E) A100 and they come with a different hardware configuration. According to the specifications of the laptop your model has sensor of fingerprint reader, and you can configure using the preinstalled fingerprint utility.

  • How to use USB CAN 8473, code for the basic example

    Hi all.

I use NEITHER USB-8473 CAN transmit and receive data via CAN.

I have traveled a lot a lot of pages related to this and realized that the API will not work for USB - CAN. Can someone tell me please how to use this USB-8473.

Maybe an exaple program would help me. (It is not PCI it we USB,)

    Thank you.

You will need to install NI-CAN, if you don't have already done.  This is the API that you can use with a 8473.  After installing, open Explorer Measurement & Automation and make sure that you can see the 8473 under your devices.

Here is a sample VI (LabVIEW 2009) that I wrote for another developer to make the CAN communication basic tests.  You enter a package CAN as a series of hexadecimal bytes separated by spaces, and it will send it to you.  It displays every CAN packet it receives in the same format.

    Hello

Please post on the Forums OR!

How do you have your battery connected? Do you use polarization resistors? This could be a grounding problem and can be fixed if the polarization resistors are used. See table 1 in this document , and the differential configuration for a floating source.

  • 480 satellite CDT, with Windows 95 osr, how to use USB

I guess it's impossible, but is there a solution
    thaks

    Hi, look what I found

"What Microsoft (http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q247/9/69.ASP)" has to say about USB support in Win95 ".

    Excerpt from Microsoft Knowledge Base
"Windows 95 OSR 2.1 and OSR 2.5 provide base support USB which was developed as the technology first emerged. Based on today's more mature USB technology, there are a number of limitations with USB support in Windows 95 OSR 2.1 and Windows 95 OSR 2.5.

These limitations have been addressed in Microsoft Windows 98 and carried over to Microsoft Windows 98 Second edition. Addressing these limitations required several architectural changes that are not portable back to Windows 95 OSR 2.1 or Windows 95 OSR 2.5.
Microsoft recommends that customers who need a more robust USB environment upgrade to Windows 98 or Windows 98 Second edition. »
Determine if your Version supports USB
The first thing you need to do to activate the USB in Win95 is to determine which version of the operating system that you use. Please note that the original or the first version of Windows 95, including the update and the version has, is NOT capable of USB connectivity. There is NO updates for these versions of Win95 which can provide USB support. Versions Win95 B & C limited USB functionality. The first operating system of Microsoft to fully support USB is Win98 first edition.

  • How to use the recovery on the Satellite A100-192 with 2 partitions CD

I have a satellite a100-192 with 100 GB hard drive.
When I bought it I used magic norton 8.0 partion to divide the disk into two partitions, c drive (used for files of program and other things; 20 GB) and d ' drive that I use for all my documents, music, videos and similar stuff...

and now, because of a few bad shots, I made (the software bad... lol) I want to reinstall windows. and honestly, I have no idea how to proceed. what I mean, I don't know what cd to use (I have two CD when I bought the computer), in fact I guess that's the one with ms a note on it, but how to do it safely without losing all my data on the d drive?

The problem is that I did a lot of relocations on desktop computers when you hava clean facilities and then I know what I'm doing, but I have no experience with bundled windows installations.

    Hello

Usually, Toshiba laptops are supplied with a Toshiba restore CD.
On this CD, you will find the image of Toshiba which contains all Toshiba drivers and utilities.

The question is what CD image you received.
Some people here in the forum suggested that, since January 2006 the Toshiba Recovery CD supports another recovery procedure. The new recovery CD does not support the ghost but the surface RECO and it s not possible to choose the partition for the installation of the OS.
In this case the whole HARD disk will be deleted and you will lose all your partitions.

I have only one old recovery CD and so I can't say if it is possible to choose the right partition. It was possible on the old recovery cd by selecting the expert mode.

In my view, that should make a backup of you all important files before you begin the recovery procedure.

  • How to use card NVIDIA on the Satellite P875-321?

    Hello

I have a Satellite P875-321 with operating system factory upgraded to Windows 8.1, all the latest drivers installed.
Whatever I do, it seems built in graphics card is used only (Intel HD 4000) and the Nvidia GT640M is never used.

    I check this:
    1. with the NVIDIA Control Panel (PhysX configuration shows that all screens are connected to the Intel HD 4000
    2. in resolution 8.1 windows settings / special settings lead me to the Intel HD 4000 properties, which indicates that this card is active

    What I tried:
1 leaving everything default and use the external power supply (hoping that the computer automatically switch to NVIDIA when the external power
    2. use control panel NVIDIA and NVIDIA 3D as favorite graphics card settings

How can I force my laptop to use a NVIDIA graphics card?

    Thank you
    Janos

    Hello

The Intel graphics chip, which is part of the central unit should be used for low performance applications, because it allows you to save energy and reduce the internal temperature.

But to get best performance all in game, it s advisable to use the external GPU (nVidia or AMD)
This setting can be changed in the nVidia control panel s

Here, you should choose manage them 3D settings (can be found on the left in the nVidia control panel)

Now in the main window, you will find two global settings and program parameters tabs
In the program settings tab, select the (game) program that needs to use the nVIdia GPU

If it is not listed, click the Add button
Then choose the graphic processor preferred for this program (generally must be nVidia processor high performance)

Last but no less, in this program-specific settings, you can assign additional features to improve performance.

  • Re: How to use Recovery Expert Mode in Satellite Pro M70-220 product recovery CD

I would appreciate advice on the following points.

My Satellite Pro M70-220 (PSM75E-00D008G3), portable computer has 4 partitions created by Acronis Disk Director costume v9:

    C: OS - Win XP Pro SP3
    D: programs
    E: data & downloads
    F: backups

After you start the laptop in Win XP, I inserted the recovery CD Toshiba in the DVD - RAM drive
and sailed to the BMP file, R:\G_INST\BMP, where I found the file "menu.bmp", which gives 2 recovery
    Options:

    * 1. Retrieve entire hard drive *.
Caveat. All data stored o your computer will be lost.
Preinstalled software factory will be installed.

    * 2. Recovery expert Mode WARNING: *.
This is for PC experts only.
Preinstalled software factory can be installed on an existing partition.

My questions are linked using the "Recovery Expert" Mode:
-I'll be able to use the "recovery of the Expert Mode' the recovery CD to reinstall Win XP Pro (pre-installed software factory) on my C: partition, while affecting only not partitions D, E & F?
-I'll be able to format the C: partition by using the "Expert recovery" Mode, without formatting of other partitions?
-What is the exact procedure of "Expert Recovery Mode"?
-where can I find more information on the procedure of "Expert Recovery Mode"?

    Thank you

    AlanCB

    > I'll be able to use the "recovery of the Expert Mode' the recovery CD to reinstall Win XP Pro (pre-installed software factory) on my C: partition, while affecting only not partitions D, E & F

Yes, this should be possible. Using the Expert Mode of recovery, you should get the ghost window where you can select the partition where the OS is to be installed. In this case only that partition would be formatted.

    > will it be possible to format the C: partition by using the "Expert recovery" Mode, without formatting of other partitions?

Yes, theoretically it should be possible.

    > what is the exact procedure of "Expert Mode of recovery"?
As I mentioned above, this mode allows you to restore the operating system on a partition of some and only this partition will be formatted.

    > where can I find more information on the procedure of "Expert Mode of recovery"?

  • How to use the files from old computer to new iTunes

I have been using an external hard drive to store and access my media files to iTunes via iTunes on another computer.   I just got a new computer and want to use this hard drive and files of music via iTunes on it.  What is the best way to do this and what are the steps to begin to play the files from the hard drive on the new iTunes?

I have changed the preferences of the media folder in iTunes without result and sought media when iTunes opens, also without result.   Thank you!!!

Media preferences are not what you think. Change said iTunes simply to memorize new media at this location. This is the file iTunes Library.itl tells iTunes where your media. If you use the same external drive (and these are the two Macs) copy the old iTunes folder form computer to the same location on the new computer and it will start with the old library.

  • How to use USB with the name of resource VISA?

    Hello

I am new to LabVIEW and I'm working on a code that must acquire data from a measuring device. This unit has only a USB output, so I have to work with it. As far as know the block that is used to refer to an external port is VISA resource name. I installed a driver that recognizes the serial ports, and they appear in the list of VISA resource file to the front panel. So I thought that installing the DEVICE driver so that the USB ports would appear. I installed and nothing of USB ports. I don't know it's as simple as that, or work with USB ports is a little more difficult. I tried many things and nothing worked I am here.

PS: I noticed that the version of the driver is 64-bit (my pc is 64-bit) and my LabVIEW version is 32-bit, what could be the problem?

The device incidentally is Digital Analyzer WT500, Yokogawa.

    Thank you.

    Victor,

the suggestion driver instruments is to make it easier by using the instrument.

Normally, you need to install a player from the manufacturer (if it is not installed, the instrument appears as a USB in Device Manager) and the driver NI-VISA. But for some instruments, manufacturers have APIs that uses NI VISA to communicate with your equipment.

In order to check whether your instrument appears correctly in Device Manager (as indicated by Yokogawa). If this is not the case, check whether Yokogawa has a suitable driver for this tool and install it.

    Is this clear?

If you wish, you can contact NI Brazil support site or by phone (11) 3149-3149 Ext 3.

    Hello Sara

The fact is you need the device to start using recovery media. With just words: put a recovery media in the DVD drive and unplug the unit. After a few seconds the start-up and immediately press C and keep it down for 10 or 15 seconds.

This will force the device to use DVD drive as the first boot device. When you see the activity on the screen, please follow the instructions. If you need more info on the writing of recovery procedure again.

    Good luck!
