  • XP Mode on Windows 7 Home Premium

I downloaded XP Mode on my Windows 7 Home Premium computer laptop - is it possible to use it?

After trying to open "Windows XP mode" I get the message "Windows XP Mode is not available on this edition of Windows". Especially after seizure that I was running Home Premium 64-bit before downloading, I was certain it would work! Did I forget something before downloading (the 500 MB...) file? Is it possible to make XP Mode work on Home Premium 64-bit?

    Thank you.

    Hello DiglDixon,

If the program is not compatible, then you try to install and run the program in compatibility mode.
    Use the following steps:
    (1) right click on the program
    2) click Properties
    3) click on the Compatibility tab
    (4) select run this program in compatibility mode and select Windows Vista or other operating system, the program has been run successfully.

Check out the link here: make sure to run older programs in this version of Windows
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/make-older-programs-run-in-this-version-of-Windows

If you are running Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate version, install Windows Virtual PC and Windows XP mode (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/default.aspx) and run your software in Windows XP.

If you run Windows 7 Home Premium, try VirtualBox (www.virtualbox.org) or VMware Player (www.vmware.com), or any other 3rd party software virtualization and install a separate copy of Windows XP (family or professional edition) for this purpose. You can find the virtualization software free that will run on Windows 7 Home Premium.

What are some ways that you can get older programs to work on Windows 7 Home Premium.

    Thank you

    Marilyn

  • Windows Virtual PC can be run on Windows 7 Home Premium?

Windows Virtual PC is compatible with Windows 7 Home Premium?
Everything I've seen indicates that XP Mode only works on Windows 7 Professional or ultimate edition, but I would like to know if I can just install Windows Virtual PC on Windows 7 Home Premium and then install my own copy of my old XP machine.  I know that there is another program called Virtual PC 2007, but I have not seen anything to indicate that it is compatible with Windows 7 Home Premium.
Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks - dani

    Hi Dani,

XP mode only works on the teacher/business or ultimate edition.

But you can install the Microsoft Virtual PC on your Home Premium if your CPU/BIOS support VT and install your old XP in a new virtual machine.

  • Can I use a product key from my laptop Windows 7 Home Premium OA on the newly installed window.

I want to restart my laptop. I have a copy of windows 7 Home premium since I bought it for my office of game. If I use the CD to install a new window on my laptop. I am able to use my laptop Windows 7 product key to this topic?

If its licensed OEM System Builder that was never used, Yes. If his license OEM from another computer, no.

As mentioned, the laptop must already include factory restore options that may allow you to reinstall the operating system from scratch.

New computers that come pre-installed with Windows often have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

This is how the recovery partition is accessible to most popular brands...

For Dell, press CTRL + F11 directly after switching on the device

For HP, press F11 directly after switching on the device

For LG, press F11 directly after switching on the device

For Toshiba, press and hold "0" BEFORE and during the power upward

For Acer, press and hold ALT + F10, as soon as you see the logo

For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.

For Samsung, press F4 to the power upward...

For Fujitsu, press the F8 key directly after the power

Advent, restart your computer. Then, press F10 repeatedly until the message "Starting system recovery"

Sony VAIO, reboot and press "F8" or "F10" repeatedly until the screen "Advanced Boot Options".

  • How to change the AHCI SATA in IDE in Windows 7 Home premium?

Please can someone explain how to change SATA from AHCI to IDE settings in windows 7 Home premium?
I tried to find it in the BIOS options is not there

It is probably not possible to change it if it is in the lock settings.  A possible solution would be to connect the drive to another computer that can be set in IDE mode.  Frankly, I'm skeptical about the value of HDD regenerator.  If the drive has bad sectors, it is best to replace it.

  • How can I permanently delete a redundant feature of Windows 7 Home Premium?

I have a laptop Advent Monza C1 running Windows 7 Home Premium.

We have replaced the printer on our home network and I want to remove the redundant devices listed by this computer printer. His continued presence triggers the messages that the software updates are available. However, the option "remove the instrument" in the "devices and printers" section of the control panel is not permanent: the redundant printer reappears at the next reboot.

What I am doing wrong or should I do to remove it permanently?

  • What is the most safe, efficient, better and without or beside free VPN (Virtual Private Network), to download and what source on Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit?

Due to some problems, I need start using a VPN and I went to CNET research here, but I find many that are 'free' and a trial are only a purchase while others I think might also have additional files which includes the constant advertising and there's enough of this everywhere as it is and I don't want that. I searched elsewhere, too, but then I don't want to not also learn that I had also allowed some keylogger or other files hidden, unwanted and dangerous, too. So, I just need a free or almost free (by means as the purchase of any service or an object like many do now in Exchange for a service/membership number) VPN that is as safe and effective where it can be turned on or off with a simple mouse click which is low in memory consumption and easy to use.

Not exactly what you want or what you need to do, but if you want a secure via a third party VPN tunnel, then you probably won't find much free, the old adage "you get what you pay for" would certainly apply.  I don't expect everyone to implement VPN reliable good free servers to provide free encrypted tunnels between computers of end users and to host servers all over the internet!  Perhaps a proxy server would do... or do you really need VPN?
