connected state. What is that.? I think I did this through the Connection Wizard, but didn't know what I was doing or how. PS. I'm not on broadband.

    Hello

As Miro Wireless and IEEE 1394 (firewire) are two completely different things. If you want to learn more on this subject see please this link http://searchnetworking.techtarget.com/gDefinition/0, 294236, sid7_gci748584, 00.html. FireWire is mainly used for the transfer of data from external devices such as camcorder, external HARD disk or external devices, CD or DVD, because the data transfer speed is fast enough.

Can you please tell me exactly is it your device wireless card? You can check in the Device Manager. If so use to the first switch wireless on the left side of your laptop. If the wireless card is enabled and wireless light is on use the key combination FN + F8 to check if the card is correctly activated. After that, you must configure a wireless connection using the wireless network connection properties.

  • Wireless network connection

I am an employee of Life Insurance Corporation of India. When I turn on my PC in the office premises, a connection named "dlink" appears in my PC. After the connection (without using any modem or external device) I can browse the internet. How is that possible? The brief description of the connection is the following:

    Wireless network connection

    Connectivity: Internet IPv4

    Name: dlink

    Strength: good signal/fair/poor

    Security type: unsecured

    Radio type: 802.11n

    SSID:Dlink

Should I access the internet by connecting through this link? Y at - it all threat to the security of my personal information or whether it's bad for me. Please notify. Hi SANJIT_78,

    ·         The computer is connected to a domain environment?

    ·         Are you facing any performance issue with wireless network connection?

    ·         What operating system is installed on the computer?

The computer you are using apparently have a wireless network interface installed in it and therefore can detect and connect to any available wireless network. The dlink network is the name of a wireless network available in your area and your computer to connect to this wireless network.

Wireless networks more private need a password to connect to them and therefore are protected. But the dlink network to which you are connecting is apparently a public wireless network, and it doesn't have a password to connect to it. So which allows any user to connect their devices to this network wireless. Due to this insecure wireless network mode, your computer displays you the message "the information transmitted through this link may be visible to others". If you want to connect to this wireless network, I suggest you first protect your computer with a good program antivirus and firewall.

To enable the Windows Firewall on your computer, you can check this link:

How can I turn on or turn off the firewall in Windows XP Service Pack 2 or later versions?

    Hope this information helps.

I can't print due to the "wireless network connection" doesn't have a valid IP address.  How can I fix this problem myself (an absolute non-techie)?

    Hello

-Did you change your computer, after which the question began?
-Check if you are connected to the network?

The question seems more like a network connection problem. I would like you to do the following.

Method 1: run the Network Troubleshooter utility and see if the problem persists.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/using-the-network-troubleshooter-in-Windows-7

Method 2: release and renew the IP (Internet Protocol) address and see if the problem persists.

has. click Start. Type cmd in the search box and press ENTER.
    b. at the command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER:
ipconfig/all (there is a space between ipconfig and /)
The command ipconfig/all command displays for all your network adapters, TCP/IP in Windows settings.

If your IP address of your Local network connection is 0.0.0.0 or 169.x.x.x (where x is a number any), then your computer is not getting an IP address from the router.
If this is the case, try this:
    ·        enough ipconfig at the command prompt and press ENTER
    ·        ipconfig / renew in the command prompt and press ENTER

    Method 3:

    Network printer problems

Note: The steps also apply to Windows 7.

  • Wireless network connection does not

I can't access a wireless connection with my computer wireless network connection. The icon in the bottom right of the screen shows a red X and says 'not connected wireless network connection. The wireless on my keyboard button does not illuminate

I tried to change the channel on the new ADSL2 wireless router and refreshed looking for wireless connections, but still not found connections. I have not used a wireless router before and never used a wireless connection with this computer so I don't know if the wireless card works or not, if the properties of the wireless adapter indicate that it works. Is there a way to check if the computer's wireless card is running or connected and if not, how can it be connected? Thank you

I finally understood by trial and error, why I was unable to connect wireless to a modem, that you sent me. In my control panel, I found that the properties of HP Wireless Assistant had "Hide status icon" checked, so I checked it and the icon came in the bottom right of my screen. I left then clicked that icon and it showed the wireless and bluetooth was OFF so I went in and it now works.

Why HP support could not help me in what I don't know, I just got the race!

  • An error occurred while renewing interface wireless network connection: unable to contact your DHCP server. Request a expires.

I use an Acer Asspire One with Windows XP. We have wireless through AT & T Uverse. The netbook has an Atheros AR5007EG Ethernet card.

A number of things have taken place lately: I had not used the Acer for some time and the battery was dead and would not recharge. I could book until when it was plugged, but could not get on the Internet. I found online that the solution to the battery problem was to download a new bios that worked wonderfully and it is now loaded. Recently, our AT & T router died and was replaced. I put the new WEP keys in two other computers, and they connect to the Internet. I can't connect to the Internet with the Acer. I tried ipconfig / renew and get the error message: "an error occurred during renewal of the wireless network connection interface: unable to contact your DHCP server.» Request a expires. No operation can be performed on Local area connection while it has its media disconnected. "On the tab"Choose a wireless network", it shows my network and said"absorbing the network address"but nothing happens. When I do ipconfig I see that there is no IP address.
I took the computer to Starbucks this morning, ran ipconfig / renew and she acquired the IP address and I was able to connect to the Internet. I brought the computer home and tried and failed to connect. The IP address is back to 0.0.0.0 and the error message appears when I try to renew it.
I hesitate to make a lot of changes since it was working with a different network.

DHCP - Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol is a protocol used by devices computer network (DHCP clients) that dynamically distributes the IP address of the destination host. Now the error indicates that your computer is not able to communicate with the server and assign the IP address.
