How we prevent plugin silent install?
Whenever I update Adobe Acrobat, its plugin is silently added to my list of Firefox plugins and activated. Ditto for some Windows updates silently add or update the Silverlight plugin. The problem is that I don't need plugins under Firefox and prefer to keep the disabled. It's a bit frustrating to have to disable one by one each time.
My question: is it possible to keep plugin silent installs, or at least to get a quick user as for the extensions? Thank you.
Uninstall you the plugins, or disable them in the program or you are only to disable plugins in Firefox?
If you disable a plugin in Firefox so I don't think that an update will be re - activate.
Newly detected plugin are quite likely to get active by default and I'm not aware of a way to prevent this.

How to prevent users from installing new programs in Windows 7
Hello
I need to prevent users to install (and download) of new programs in Windows 7. I am responsible for three computers. They are not on one network (other than the internet, of course).
I read the article "How to prevent users from installing new programs in Windows 7" but I'm not sure what choice to make when I get to the choice of Windows Installer. I'm also not quite know how to cancel that so I can install the software when I have to. I've never done this if I want to be very careful.
Can anyone help?
Many thanks,
KK
Are their accounts 'Administrator' or 'Standard' user level?
If they are directors of the machine, and then create a new Admin account (only you know the password) and then lower their Standard user accounts. If they attempt to install programs now it should be prompted to enter the Admin password that they won't.
User accounts - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2663817
Also see http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/299-user-account-control-uac-change-notification-settings.html for info UAC - and adjust the required level.
If their accounts are accounts administrator and for some reason must be a competent user, then will probably be able to undo everything you put up anyway.
PS - what specific article?

I check the updates manually, and it's frustrating because I can't stop it once it starts. There is no button 'Cancel' or anything that will stop the update.
' Check for updates ' does not mean 'Install updates'
If you want to update manually, then it is best to check what version is available on the server of Mozilla and not to check updates in Firefox via help > about Firefox.
- Latest Firefox: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
If files have already been downloaded and you do not want to install this update and then delete the files in the folder updates\0 and updates.

Well seems the only thing to do is to spend the money, you will need to upgrade your version of Windows to the professional or ultimate edition:-

I also suggest to make a new profile user limited to children and put a password on your.

How do you prevent Muse to install when you run the exceptiondeployer
Hi Richard,
You can select no Muse when creating a package.
In addition, the Muse is therefore more a part of the Exceptions folder. It is only installed through the build configuration.

Silent install EM 12 c BP1 with many plugins
Hello
I want silent install enterprise manager cloud control 12 c BP1 with many plugins in linux64, there are commands with parameters such as
. / runInstaller-silent - responsefile $INS_DIST/response/new_install.rsp UNIX_GROUP_NAME = oinstall INVENTORY_LOCATION = $ORA_BASE/oraInventory...
PLUGIN_SELECTION = {"Oracle.em.SECL", "Oracle.em.secs", "Oracle.em.sesy", "Oracle.em.SOEE", "Oracle.em.SIDB"}
Parameter PLUGIN_SELECTION is used for the selection of the plugin. I'm sure that these values are correct and the setting is also correct, I followed the example of its use in new_install.rsp. But after the installation, I check the EMCC plugin page, install only one or two plugin and sometimes not the plugin that I've specified in the PLUGIN_SELECTION parameter. Very strange.
Does anyone know why? need help ~ ~ ~
Thank you
Jing
Hi Jing,
I suggest that you install the last em 12.1.0.2 and or 12.1.0.1 with BP1. Is there a particular reason that you want to install 12.1.0.1 with bp1?
Call setup:
./runInstaller -silent -responseFile
/new_install.rsp -pluginLocation
and then in the rsp file mention this
PLUGIN_SELECTION={"oracle.sysman.empa","oracle.sysman.vt"}
By default, mandatory plug-ins such as plug-in database management Oracle, Oracle Fusion Middleware Management Oracle My Oracle Support Management and Oracle Exadata management plug-in plug-in, plug-ins get automatically installed with the Enterprise Manager System.
However, if you want to install other optional plug-ins that are available in the software kit (DVD or downloaded software), and then enter the names of these plug-ins for this variable.
If you have the default binary files that you downloaded from OTN with name - em 12.1.0.1 with bp1, then you don't have to pass this parameter, this parameter is no longer applicable for users who have 12.1.0.1 without bp1 em...

How can I do a silent install of Firefox 23 because the switch - ms does not work?
I was able to do a silent install of all the previous versions of Firefox by using the switch - ms. But when I use it on the new version, the user interface comes up and he has never done this before. I tried different silent switches but non of them work.
Not the most experienced at this, but you use the stub Installer, perhaps you can try the classic installer and try again?
Hope this helps.

How can I prevent the Win7 installing display drivers just after starting?
My main use of this particular computer is Microsoft's Flight Simulator X. It's a title 3-4 years and it works better on the 182.5 nVidia drivers than it does on the last drivers out there.
I just got an ATI card and I'm replacing a nVidia card. I uninstalled the ATI card, used Driver Sweeper in safemode and jumped in the nVidia card. Unfortunately, Windows installs a driver, I don't want to as soon as I get in windows.
I have disabled the Windows of any kind (temporarilly) updates, but it still happens. Searching on Google I found a solution that starts with-
-Click Start
-type in gpedit.msc entered press...Unfortunately gpedit does not seem to be on my system, so it stops there.
I absolutely need the old version of this driver and there must be a clean install not on top of another driver so if anyone knows how to stop the auto install it please help. I spent far too much money on this sim card to be stopped by the present, and I don't want to go back to XP at this point.
Thanks in advance,
RobOops almost forgot I'm on Windows 7 64 bit.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Edit - Ok in another post here to solve another problem I've seen one person say to uninstall a driver, reboot and cancell the automatic installation of the new driver...
My problem is that I do not get the dialog box who says it's installing drivers or one that will allow me to stop the installation after I type my password and press enter (log in). After you have clicked on enter it is less than 10 seconds before a dialog box tells me that I must restart to complete the installation. Never thought that I would complain that my ' computer is too fast, LOL!
If I uninstall the video driver, start in safe mode, run driver Sweeper to get all the bits that are missed, restart back in safe mode I can again install the new drivers (older) then in safe mode? I've never tried something install with safe mode before, so I don't know if it is still possible or recommended.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated,
RobHello Samhrutha G,.
Thank you for your response. I think that your solution would work if Windows has never had the nVidia system driver, but because he did it (from when my settings were to allow updates) install regardless of my settings in the Windows Update settings. You see, I had (temporarilly) the value of this parameter to never to let Windows download and install updates but he ignored that (I tried with your settings too).
I think I found a solution, but I could be wrong in my understanding. This is my thoughts when you uninstall a video card driver and restart with no 3rd party drivers on your system, Windows uses its driver 'Standard VGA '. I'm not sure but I think that it is the State in which we look after using something like Driver Sweeper in safe mode. Just the driver VGA Standard, this way a clean install of 3 third-party drivers can be made.
What I did is to use Device Manager to access my VGA card and selected the option Update my driver from a list of drivers already on my system. It gave me the choice of GTX 275 nVidia Driver installation or driver VGA Standard. I chose the standard and restarted. After the restart he tried to update that I don't want, so that's good.
My next steps will be to start in safe mode, run Driver Sweeper to clean the remnants of the nVidia Driver, restart, leaving the sytem completely load and then reboot again. I wil then install the driver nVidia of my choice.
If I'm right that which users are usually trying to accomplish with the method Driver Sweeper is Windows just use is driver VGA Standard then I have all good and my card will work better than my old less powerful card (which is not currently the case). I think I'm right because Windows would need some kind of driver to display anything on the screen at all which I assume is his 'Standard VGA' driver.
Please someone correct me if I'm wrong I typed all this out in the hope of helping others with the same question.
Thank you once again Samhrutha I thank you for taking the time to offer your help.

original title: problem with new hardware
last week, windows xp prevented me from installing new hardware, namely a canon digital camera and a memory card reader. Although the system recognizes the material into the machine, when you are looking for auto install it asks me for the service pack 3 cd, which I did not. I never had problems, install new hardware before. Any ideas why this happens?
Hello
· What is the service pack installed on the computer?
· What is the model number of the canon camera?
· What is the exact error message that you receive with error code if any?
If you have installed service pack 3 on the computer then you can try the method and check them off below if it helps:

How to prevent the automatic updates
How to prevent the automatic updates which closes the window and restart the computer in Windows 7, Vista OP? I'm usually right in the middle of something when this happens.
Hello
change how to get updates to allow you to choose what you and when you install to stop it happening again
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial140.html
Download updates but let me choose whether to install them - if you select this option, Windows will download the updates on your computer, but not install them automatically. If you want to install updates, then you must install them manually. You should only select this option if you have a reason to not install updates automatically. Only advanced users should use this option.
Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them - if you select this option, you'll be alerted when there are new updates available for download and install. You can then choose to download and install the updates that you want. This option should really be reserved for people who know exactly which updates they need, or those who have little access to the Internet.
