  There is a unknown specification for your motherboard that will prevent you from installing a new 3.0 PCIe x 16 graphics card. Maps 3.0 is backward compatible with PCIe x 16 2.0 slots.   I have a HP Slimline s5-1020 with Windows 7 (64-bit).  I installed an HP site update file; saved, run, followed the instructions, and then at the end it says "update failed (259)" I tried clearing cache and disable the firewall, then original delete downloaded file and redownloading.  Same error message... I have a game that I bought and downloaded that is locked.  Troubleshooting on gambling site says download the new drivers; This is a first, I've tried.  Windows says I don't need updated for audio or video drivers.  But when I tried HP I found that an update has so above.

  I noticed several times during internet browsing or listening on itunes, the music will momentarily be distorted.  If I watch a movie on my PC, the strain will also hit not synchronized sound with video.  It can get really annoying.  Also, during the game Battlefield 3, distortion will occur from time to time and make the game stutter for a while and continue as usual.  Any ideas why this happens?

  I'm running on a Pavilion h8-1020 HPE intel Core i7 - 2600 S and an EVGA GeForce GTX 560 graphics card upgrade.  Nothing is Overclocked and that the system works McAfee Total Protection and Iolo System mechanic as the only programs running with the problems mentioned above.  Also, I was getting distortion before even the video card upgrade.

  I get no error message, but it's really starting to get annoying. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  You might have a HD audio conflict. Very well known if you install of Nvidia HD audio drivers when using onboard audio. Do not install the Nvidia HD audio drivers or disable them in Device Manager.

  Can we go in the devices folder and printers and on the top of the page taskbar, click Delete printer? If not, then...

  You can also go to your C: / / drive, then Program files, then the HP folder and delete the driver HP LaserJet 1020 from there. Not the ideal way to do it but you can do it this way.

  Once you have done this, return to your file devices and printers, ensures that any printer (no matter what we as long as it isn't the 1020 so that is always on display) has a green check mark, and then in the task bar, click on the print server property. Open and click on the driver tab, if the 1020 does not appear here then it shouldn't be in your driver store more. If it is displayed in the list, try to remove it by clicking on the button Delete.   Sorry to be the bearer of bad news - but more likely--DO NOT.

  The update of Win10 has a bad history of corrupt recovery OEM as part of the upgrade information, and if that happens, without recovery OEM will work.

  What will work restores your computer to its original factory state using HP recovery media.  It is a DVD and CD set that will erase the hard drive (removing all data, applications and settings, reinstall the original OS, drivers and utilities for HP. In some cases, you will be able to order a USB instead of discs.  You must order at HP; they cannot be downloaded.
  
  You can look online for recovery from the paged media related: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers
  
  Once there, enter your product name or number. On your software page and download the drivers, select your operating system and version. Click on "Update".  If the HP recovery support is available for your computer, down near the bottom of the page, you will see an entry for the command Recovery Media-CD/DVD/USB.   Looking to give my almost 5 year old very PC need graphics push. As mentioned in the title, I have a HP h8-1020. After reading the other messages from users on this forum, it seems that the power supply provided with this model (300W) is totally insufficient for any new, decent graphics card.

  I also use a 27 inch Samsung S27D360.

  I read that some people used the corsair CX500/600 with Nvidia GT X series (2 GB) as an upgrade card appropriate. However I don't know a lot about the power supplies or performance graphics cards.  I don't have an absolute top of the map online, just one that can run most modern graphic intensive games. I hope for a price range of about $100 for food and not more than $200 for the graphics card.

  Here are some of the games I'd like to run upstairs - max (preferably in 1920 x 1080) settings:

  To answer your question, YES, it is compatible with Win10 - but you must use the HP software and drivers, not the one that is provided by Microsoft.

  You must download and install full feature software and drivers for the printer.

  Remove all the drivers and software that Microsoft install for the printer.

  Then unplug the printer and install the software.

  Do reconnect the printer until the installation program invited to do so.

  Once the installation is complete, restart.

  You should then be able to use your printer in Win10.

  I recently bought and installed a new hard drive on my Touchsmart 520-1020 after that started to spoil. Given that I don't return to the top of my media and the model was old enough, I had to buy a whole new pack of system directly from HP recovery disks. I tried to install them several times, but each time that the process of recovery achieved 39% the disk #2 (in 4 total) that breaks down just, and a message appears saying that there is an error 0xe0ef000e. I thought it might be produced because the hard drive is not compatible, but the hard drive is reading for diagnostic tests, so is not the problem. HP support suggested that the problem could be with the discs, but I bought it on the official HP website to make them new. Please let me know what you think the problem might be. Thank you for your time.

  More than likely disk 2 is bad, call HP for a replacement set.
