Door DVD opens automatically and the screen flashed randomly 15-ac121dx for HP windows 10 laptop

Hey @IE1865,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! This is a great place to find solutions and help our community!

I understand that you are having problems with the disc tray on your 15 HP laptop. I'd be happy to help you with this, however, to help you, I have to ask for more information.

The problem occurs when you open a specific application or software?

When this issue started to happen?

Is there an error message?

Have you tried the steps on your own?

In the meantime, here's a document on the blinking or flashing screen after upgrade to Windows 10.

I highly recommend to run the Windows Update tool that it can find and update all the old drivers or missing you need.

Please hold me.

By pressing the Thumbs Up button below, you can always say thank you!

See you soon.

  • a door opens by itself

just got a new laptop and the cd rom keeps opening door all the time by itself. I have vista Home premium on my laptop, norton protection virus and a wireless hp printer-scanner-copier loaded on it. The problem just started a few days ago and I can't get the problem fixed.  I turn on the computer and within 30 seconds, the door opens automatically, I close it and again once, in 1 min, the door will open. This happens all the time I'm on the computer. It doesn't seem to affect the computer or the tasks that I'm sure if I need to load a dvd or a cd.   Help!  I don't know how to solve this problem, as I am very new to computers. Bet that doesn't help. Maybe I did something wrong somewhere and don't know it and now can't get that stupid to stay closed door.

    Hi Tom,

You can try to reload the driver for the CD drive.  I have provided the instructions here below.  It could also be that the drive is not properly fixed.  Try to chase him and put it back, making sure it connects safely.

    Reinstall your CD-ROM driver:

    1. click on the Start ORB and select Control Panel.
    2. in the Control Panel , click system and Maintenance
    3. under Device Manager, click View hardware and devices
If you are prompted, type your administrator password, or click on continue
    4. in Device Manager, expand readers CD-ROM/DVD-ROM
    5. under CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drives, right-click the drive listed and choose Uninstall
    6. click on OK
    7. which Yes to restart your computer

After the reboot, Windows Vista will reinstall the driver for your CDROM.  Please let us know if this solves your problem.  Thank you.

My dvd drive opens at the beginning and will not be closed. How can I solve this problem?

    Hi Showme66,

    A. from when what happens?

    B. what happens when you try to close the drive?

    C. recent changes made on the computer?

    D. the DVD drive opens automatically at startup?

This problem may occur if one of the following scenarios is true:

    • Drivers filter in the CD and the DVD storage stack are not migrated successfully to Windows Vista.
    • You have uninstalled the CD software that fails to withdraw properly in the registry.
    • You have installed software that adds filter drivers in the CD and the storage stack of DVDs that interfere with existing filters.

    Hello

Click right tab taskbar - task - process - make sure WMPlayer.exe Manager, nor any other
the player is responsible - in the affirmative PROCESS END on them and try again.

    -----------------------

You have disk problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD burning and)
Playback of CD and DVD). So it is not unusual for parts from 1 or 2 to not work so that others do
    correctly.

Burning at low speed, or by using the master could help. A CD/DVD cleaner might help.

CD have a tolerance + - and your must read on the edge outside these tolerances of discs.
They may be delivered, but it is generally more economical to replace the disk. Can burn you
a mastered CD and a DVD mastered on this computer and laptop and other computer
machines? Can you do the same on the laptop and play in this machine?

    ===========================================

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

  • CD/DVD player open on its own - Equium L40

    Hello

I have a laptop Equium L40-10 X recently purchased from Pc World. It has been working fine until recently my reader of cd/dvd broke open on its own. I closed it and then about 10 minutes later he did it again. This happens from time to time. After some research I found that it could be a problem of spyware. Scanned and deleted all traces etc. Problem seemed to have disappeared, but alas, the disc once more burst open.

Recently the drive does not read disks as well. It seems to work when it wants at any time from 10 seconds up to an hour at a time. Things became an own mind... and when it doesn't, the button to open the player doesnâ? t seem to work. I have to use a paper clip to open the player.

I have a laptop haunted or there is something wrong.

Did someone has had an experience of something like it before or give me advice on what to do?

    Thank you, Jon.

    Hi mate

I didn't noticed anything like this before, but I assume that it s a mechanical problem.
Don t think that 3rd party software (program, spyware, virus, etc.) could cause this problem.
In addition, you said that the drive does not read disks as well.

In this case, I would recommend contacting the ASP in your country and ask for the disc and if necessary audit for a replacement disk WEIRD.

If the warranty is valid replacement should be done for free.

    Best regards

  • keyboard no one and several windows opens automatically

The last few days Ive seen the following problems with my laptop:

    1. on a normal startup

several windows open automatically without prompting to the keyboard. The first window is usually the Help window, and then opens the default browser window as well. 10 - 15windows opens in a duration of one minute and continue until I manually closethem or at the end of the process in the Task Manager.

This experience on the admin user and others

    2. Alternatively on the boot of startup window stops and asked to choose an operating system.  This machine has only win7 on it. no option cannot be selected as keyboard stubbornly inactive you.

    3.

If by chance the machine decides to start, I can not connect to the user, because the keyboard is not responsive

If I get the admin user for which I have no password... anything can be typed keyboard non-responsive rest like a potato.

It seemed that the keyboard was defective, so ive got changed, but the problem persists.

    Help, please.

Of course, it looks like infections are present.

Run ADWcleaner https://toolslib.net/downloads/viewdownload/1-adwcleaner/ it's free and one of the only malware cleanup tools that I trust.  Malwarebytes can be used, but be careful to not take the trial or use the pro version.  Virtually all the removal tools known as maleware are in themselves of malware.

If you are unable to get sufficient control, download ADWcleaner into the USB port on another computer.

I assume you mean to Internet Explorer (IE)?  If you are, reset

    Tools, Internet Options, advanced.

Multiple OS question at the start is usually someone re - install Win7, but unless you first delete the existing partition.

Now, this is a controversial subject, but your choice of AV software may be something you want to take a 2nd look.  I suggest you visit this website to get an idea of what AV software made the best work, depending on what type of user you are: http://www.av-comparatives.org/ is a non-profit that has been around for a long time and I hope that their results.

When you interpret these results, remember the difference between a product that detects 95% and the other 99% of infections, it is actually 5 times more likely to allow an infection.

I care about 140 Windows PCs and I have more than 13 years.  Until last September, the only AV software that I would allow my clients to use was Norton Antivirus.  Note that this is not the same as any other product, Norton 360 or Internet Security.

Last September, Symantec (Norton owner) decided to no longer sell such a product.  After much research, I decided on Bitdefender Antivirus 2015 +.  I installed it on more than half of these PC so far and has never been a problem.  In fact, I think it's a better product than even Norton.  One of the things I love the most about it, is the silence and discretion.  It is also cheap.

My customers know that if they install any product of 'Internet Security', I won't work on their computers until it is deleted.  Very well, I learned the hard way that the other components of these products (other than the AV itself) IS caused more problems than any profit that they bring and work primarily by stopping the Windows component that does a very good job of this particular task still.  My problem is that when I started to work on a computer with an IS on it, I could spend hours trying to diagnose the problem, only to find out that by taking the product of the IS, the problems have become much clearer and easier to solve.  I think that the product of the IS actually hides the problem.

As I said.  It is a controversial topic and you will find many different very strong opinions.  I know that mine is based on a fairly large sample over a long period, and are consumers of consumer type Windows.

Another thing you need to know: you can delete not entirely of most any AV software simply by using the standard uninstallation tool Windows 7.  Most of the majors also publishes a "removal tool" that gets the rest.  If you do not completely remove it, it will cause very hard to understand and diagnose problems.

  • OfficeJet J6480 how to stop the HP Solutions Center opens automatically on the screen?

Printer Officejet J6480, Vista, connected to the laptop cable AND Wireless may be also (not sure wireless).

Always after that laptop starts upward and often while on Internet - the HP Solutions Center program opens automatically.  It passes through the small boxes asking to install with CD, etc opening.  I stop them and then Solutions Center opens in any case.  This happens in all work on laptop.   And especially, even if you use the printer manually.

    How to disable?

I realize it may have something to do with the configuration and use of the cable linking the two...

(My setup is very sensitive and was having too much difficulty with the fax configuration.  Always of the problems there, too.)

    Any ideas?

    Much appreciated!

    Hi HP-CompaqPC,

I understand that you have a J6480 Officejet which continues to run through the installation of the solution Center whenever your computer starts up. I'm sorry to hear that, but will definitely do my best to help you.

I would recommend that you download and run the HP print and Scan Doctor and he should be able to identify what the problem is and make some suggestions on how to fix it.

I would like to know how this happens, have a great day!

  • How to stop the "Firefox" account set up the tab opens automatically

My default home page is set to Yahoo, but everytime I open a new tab from the home page, the "Create a Firefox account" tab opens automatically every time. It is annoying because I double tabs I want open and need to keep close account of Firefox page. I don't want an account Firefox then how can I stop this tab always open?
    Thank you.

Yes, this page is to create a Firefox Sync account.

In order to change the URL of the new tab:

    1. Enter Subject: config in the address bar
    2. Accept the warning
    3. Find the line browser.newtab.url
    4. Double-click the value (present value should be https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/40.0.2/firstrun/) and enter another URL or on: newtab
    5. Click OK and close all: config tab

    Note
The pref browser.newtab.url does more than 41 of Firefox.

This is for security reasons: too many modules and malware use this feature to set their own new tab URL.

Then, you can use this add-on: new tab override.
When the add-in is installed, open about: config, find pref [email protected] and change the value to the desired URL.
