  • HP Envy M4 1115dx: Qualcomm QCA Atheros Driver Installation error | Device not found wireless adapter

I just replaced my old HD with a new SSHD Seagate. Everything is going well until I tried to connect to internet in wifi wireless mode with. I think it was a pilot error because I just do a blank Windows 8 install on my new SSHD (hybrid drive SSD). So I went to find the Driver for the WLAN Module.

HP is automatically detected my laptop model number and gave me a list of drivers. I selected "Qualcomm Atheros QCA90000 series Wireless LAN Driver for Microsoft Windows" under the list of Driver Network in the menu dropdown.

In the middle of the installation of this driver, I was arrested and met a titled error message, "802.11a/b/g/n Wireless adapter device not found". Just below this title was a big red circle with a white X sign. Besides, he said: "the device may not be present or could have been ejected unplugged from the system. Abortieng the installation, please insert the card and try again the Setup program. »

Below is a screenshot of what I mean.

Problem solved. I uninstalled all the drivers but the Ralink. Think I know what may have caused this.

The recommended for WLAN driver was based on a misinterpretation on behalf of HP. HP auto detected my laptop as a 1150la instead of the 1115dx model.

I'm not sure why HP thinks that my model is another, but it may have something to do with the SSHD and thermal fan replacement I did before this error WiFi.

  • Re: Unable to get the wireless adapter to work on my Satellite L550-1CC

I'm getting bored with this laptop, I reinstalled windows 7 (32 bit) and can not get the wireless adapter to work.

My router settings are perfect, my netbook is zero connection problems - the router is just inches away from the laptop most of the time - the laptop insists that there is "no available networks."

This of course is BS, before I reinstalled windows I could pick up 3 other neighbouring networks as well as mine.

Windows automatically installed the wireless network - I thought that could be the problem, so I downloaded the realtek driver directly.

No difference. Always the small icon with Red Cross barred through it.

I thought it could have been a hot key problem - so I installed the flash card driver that apparently controls the access keys (for some reason any).

Shortcut keys still don't work - I could really care about that - it's just the wireless network I need.

Thanks for any help I receive.

    > my netbook has zero connection problems - the router is just inches away from the laptop most of the time - yet the laptop insists there is "no available networks."
After reading this sentence, I'm a bit confused. If there is no available WLAN networks how your laptop had zero problems to connect?

    One last thing:
    > Of course is BS, before I reinstalled windows I could pick up 3 other neighbouring networks as well as mine.
What is the difference between the old and the new installation of Windows?

In general the WLAN use is fairly simple.
Wireless network card - must be installed correctly (listed in Device Manager
WLAN card - must be enabled using FN + F8 key combination to activate the wireless network card
-scan the available WLAN networks area, click on the button of your WLAN and use connect
-put key WLAN if necessary and after a few seconds WLAN connection will work

I did this many times on laptops preinstalled Win7 and didn't have any problems. On all laptop computers pre-installed with Toshiba recovery image (factory settings) is not necessary to change the WLAN settings.

  • Update wireless adapter on Sony Vaio VPCF23EFX

    Hi all

I want to improve my Atheros AR9287 wireless adapter that came with my Vaio laptop.

I try to have the party upgrade compatible with the dual-band standard and therefore, compatible with our new 802.11ac 802.11ac router.

    1 is it possible?

2 the warranty of your laptop?

    3. what features should I know to make sure that I have replace the Atheros AR9287 with a compatible part?

    4. any consideration that everyone thinks I should be aware?

    Thank you

    edsager

Simple answer is probably yes. From my experience, Sony doesn't have a white list of BIOS for WLAN and WWAN like HP or Lenovo cards (right I CALL YOU OF HP and Lenovo!)

Your computer has an access panel at the bottom of the laptop user? If so, have you tried to open it to see what is available? Most manufacturers make the adapter wireless network accessible from the bottom panel or under the keyboard.

I can't say what expansion supported by your portable computer based on interface specifications:

    http://eSupport.Sony.com/us/p/model-home.pl?MDL=VPCF23EFX&template_id=1&Region_ID=1&tab=manuals#/man...

But it is probably mini PCIe or mini PCI. The difference is quite obvious because of the size and the number of connectors. M2 is the new interface used by the last SSD and some WLAN adapters, but the probability that your computer is using m2 is weak.

See Mini PCIe vs Mini PCI

    http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/PCI_Express#PCI_Express_Mini_Card

    See m2

    http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/M.2

This type of upgrade should not void your warranty, because it's an aftermarket upgrade, not a change (for example cooling mods, because you replacings stock thermal compound and by adding coppershims etc to make this kind of change), however, to keep the old card around in the case where you have to call support because they like stock options in laptops before providing support if they tell me that they fully support you because they don't know if updates of spare caused problems, blah blah blah.

  • The wireless adapter question

I need a wireless adapter for my old desktop PC.  I think the WMP54G.  Old desktop has XP Pro.  Base of PC has Vista Ultimate.  Router is a WRT54GL.  Network is WPA2 encrypted.  I should have no problem, another adapter would be more appropriate?  Thank you.

You can certainly go for WMP54G... It works like a charm with WRT54GL router... However, you must make sure that you have all the appropriate corrections NSB your XP computer to support WPA2 security... Your card supports WPA2 security...

  • D Link Wireless Adapter does not work with Windows 7

I looked in the Windows Compatibility Center and it says my D-Link WUA-2340 wireless adapter is compatible with Windows 7. Our newest computer can see my wireless network, but does not connect. Worked fine with Vista. Then it is compatible or not? I downloaded the latest drivers from the D-Link's Web site, this version is one year old. Support D-link told me that it is not compatible with Win 7. They say that it is not. MS says it's. It does not connect. Anyone know what is happening? I do not have to buy a new adapter.

    Hi Mike,.

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

D Link WUA-2340 is compatible with Windows 7, but you will need to download the software of your product from the link below. Select the appropriate Version of the operating system before you download.

  • Unable to connect via the wireless router "problem with wireless adapter or access point" _

    Hello

I recently replaced my old Toshiba laptop with a new model of Toshiba Satellite L500/033HNX, it installed Windows 7.

The problem is that I can't connect to my wireless network. I am currently connected via Ethernet cable to my Linksys router.

I had help from my internet service provider, the installation correctly the problem not because of the connection.

I had a Linksys online support, the router is a wireless, model - WAG54G ADSL gateway, is not the problem of all the correct settings and other devices can connect via my wireless network. I ran Dr. connectivity several times and it is always impossible to connect, "problem with the wireless adapter or access point.

OK, you're my next hope to solve the problem can you HELP Please!

  • Windows 7 will not recognize wireless adapter

    Hello

My hard drive was recently started giving me problems so I just bought a new SSD. It is a desktop computer with a wireless PCI card. I have not yet removed the old HDD and when I start Windows with this one, I am still able to use the wireless adapter (both facilities use Windows 7)
When I go into Device Manager and try to search for hardware changes on the network cards (on the installation of the SSD), nothing comes up.
Network cards that show on the old HDD:
    Map Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport
    Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller
    TP-LINK 300Mbps Wireless N adapter
Network card which shows on the SSD:
    Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller
    The SSD also indicates:
Other devices > network controller (has a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark beside it, but couldn't find an update)
I can't find a driver for the TP-LINK wireless network card, but I understand that this feature needs to be integrated to Windows in any case - I do not remember having to install whatever it is extra to do work on the old HDD.
Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

    If it's your TP-Link adapter

    http://www.TP-link.com/en/products/details/?CategoryID=240&model=TL-WN821N#down

Download the driver from the V4

(Possibly on a key usb on another PC, then install it)

I have this kit and it runs on win7 & win8 both with the above driver

Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller is the correct controller for your motherboard (and only one)

  • Impossible to activate the USB Belkin, f5d8055 wireless adapter in Windows 7

I have an old Dell Laptop Inspiron 6400 PC I installed Windows 7 Ultimate on. The built-in wireless adapter works well, but I would like to use an external Belkin F5D8055 N + USB adapter for inclease & range performance.
So far, I installed the drivers for the correct adapter on the Belkin site and they seem to install correctly. The adapter is recognized and no error display in Device Manager.
If I disable or uninstall the integrated Dell wireless adapter and try and turn on the Belkin adapter, while the message displayed indicates that it allows, the adapter is disabled and grayed out. I even turned off the Dell Wireless card in the bios that actually no difference.
I know that the adapter Belkin F5D8055 working as I tried to install it in another laptop (Lenovo) and it works OK.
My question is what could be causing the adapter Belkin to stay disabled? Is this something that is that collide with the Belkin drivers?
I find a second laptop Dell Inspiron 6400 with the same generation and has the same symptoms with the Belkin adapter.
I also tried a former C and W USB wireless adapter and it also will not help.
Is there a fundamental issue with computers Dell laptop, Inspiron and Windows 7?

    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you very much

Hi Zach, you are quite correct! I have now uninstalled Zonealarm and the Belkin adapter install and activate OK. Thank you very much.

Do you know if Zonealarm can be configured to work with the Belkin adapter, or is it one or the other?

    Thanks again.

Unfortunately, it's going to be one or the other, try to reinstall.

  • Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 HP 14-b173cl wireless adapter does not

I have a Pavilion Touchsmart model 14-b173cl upgraded to Windows 8.1.  Everything works except for the wireless adapter.  When I run the Diagnostics on the adapter windows returns an error indicating that there may be a problem with the driver.  I have installed and reinstalled the latest version of the driver several times without success. The wireless adapter worked fine until I updated the driver version 10.0.0.263 by following the instructions in the HP support assistant.

Is there something wrong with the driver?

How can I go back to the old driver?  He was working with window 8.1 before I loaded updated driver.

    Hello hilldouga1,

I'm glad you found a resolution to your problem. If my last post did not solve your problem I would have recommended a factory reset. To restore your files I set out some steps for to follow you:

Step 1. Scan from the right edge of the screen

Step 2. Tap search (or if you use a mouse, point to the upper right of the screen, move the pointer of the mouse down, and then click Search)

Step 3. Enter restore your files in the search box

Step 4. Press or click on restore your files with the file history
Step 5. Enter the name of the file you're looking for in the search box or use the left and right arrows to navigate through the different versions of your files and folders

Step 6. Select what you want to restore to its original location

Step 7. Press or click the button restore

This should restore your backed up files files. Thanks again for the display on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • Dynex DX-BUSB Wireless Adapter not recognized

I can't get my Dynex DX-BUSB wireless network adapter is recognized by Windows 7.  Windows recognizes it as a 802. 11 b / g adapter LP/SC of USBeless, but is unable to install the drivers.  I tried to install the original Dynex drivers, but it recognized without luck.  I guess because its pilots are old and currently not supported, looks like.  This computer, only way to get on Internet wireless adapter, I can't search online for drivers on this subject through Windows Update.  What should I do to get this card to work.  FYI, I'm using Windows 7 64 bit on a Pentium D 2.8 Ghz.

    Hey Wackysoft,.

I had the same problem this week and spent some time on the phone with Dynex.  They openly admitted that the DX-BUSB (as well as most of their other products) are currently problems of incompatibility with Windows 7.  They said they hope to have drivers available in the coming weeks.  Pretty miserable for those of us who do today on the internet.

    Good luck.

  • Lack of wireless and wireless adapter led remains Orange. HP Pavillion DV 2745se

I'm working on a HP Pavillion DV 2745se. The laptop runs Windows Vista Edition Home Premium (from restore HP) - 32-bit, the unit was having a problem with speed and was running hot. After restoring the system, running and cleaning of the cooling system of debris the machine works well, except for the wireless card does not exist within the operating system. As the announcement of another user on 23/06/11, I have the same symptoms with the wireless adapter: my wireless button is orange instead of its normal blue light and clicking it does not change it to blue light. Everything that is displayed in the network card in my device manager is my ethernet and not my Wireless LAN that allows to display. Also, the wireless adapter is not found in the---> Mobile PC Control Panel---> adjust commonly used mobility settings. HP Network Assistant also does not work, I have also uninstalled and reinstalled. At the start screen, I get a notice indicating that the Wireless Module is not found. I made: 1) Unseated and re-installed wireless adapter at least a dozen times. Restore system restore 2) Ran HP, return the machine as a factory 3) ensured there were any errors in the network adapter in the Device Manager 4) "sleep" mode disabled in power management in the Device Manager 5) removed from the wireless adapter and put the card in an another good known laptop and the card works. ((6) performed a "Hard reset" several times using this procedure: a) disconnect all devices and remove all USB devices and multimedia cards. (b) disconnect the power adapter, remove the battery and then press in and hold the button for at least 1 minute. (c) reconnect the AC power adapter (do not connect the battery), press the switch and check is this problem is solved or not. ((d) and added, I.) In the BIOS & "reset to factory defaults" ii.) Unplug the battery CMOS and connect battery and reset the time. ((7) the laptop via battery Ran only 8) ran the laptop through the power supply only 9) booted up the laptop with the Ubuntu operating system via a USB and that the operating system could not 'find' the adapter wireless laptop is acting, as it is off, but in addition to the power switch on the front of the laptop that always remains orange , it doesn't seem to be any other places to manage the On / Off function. Unlike other laptops, this laptop BIOS does not offer the ability to manage the wireless adapter. It is not the end of the world if I can't get this device work, that I use a USB WiFi adapter with the laptop, but would be nice. Oh by the way, if you have a laptop running slow and it is a few years old and you think it is running more hot as before, you can clean the cooling associated with the cooling system fans.

    Hello:

These notebooks have been prone to problems of heat. It was also known that excessive heat caused damage to wireless networking.

This is probably one of 2 things:

    1. the heat pulled out the wireless card.

    2. the heat pulled the motherboard components that operate the wireless network as the mini-PCIe slot card.
