    Hi, Mary

I'm using the Enterprise version that it froze during installation, so I waited around 9-10 Minutes still nothing
so I started keys at random because I was waiting for a long time then restarted my PC and now I can't start my pc.

    >:-( >:-( >:-( >:-(

Boot from the Windows 8 DVD or USB media that you created
    Click Install now
    Accept the license agreement
When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

Select the disk partition where you want to install Windows 8 click Next.

You will receive the following warning:

The partition you have selected may contain files from a previous Installation of Windows. If so, these files and folders will be moved to a folder named Windows.old. You will be able to access the information in Windows.old, but you will be able to use your previous version of Windows.

(At all costs, do NOT click on anything in Format, deletion or Partition name.) So even do a custom installation, your personal files are still kept. Click OK

The installation program will now begin installation. During installation, your computer will be restarted several times.

Once the installation is complete, you can complete the Out of Box experience as the choice of your laptop, create a username, password, your time zone. You can then proceed to download the latest updates for Windows and reinstall your applications and drivers.

You can then retrieve your personal files from the Windows.old folder and reinstall all of your applications and drivers.

    Hi ellajones,

    1. you receive an error message when you try to open programs on the computer?

    2. do you have security software installed on the computer?

I suggest that you put the computer in a clean boot state and check if the problem persists.

It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See the link below to learn more about how to clean boot.

  • New installation of Windows 7 Ultimate, computer loops and again: "the installation program prepares your computer for first use.

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate on my Toshiba Tecra A4-S211 and provided that the installation went, it seemed that took place without incident; except that when I try to start windows I see: "Starting windows" followed by "Setup prepares your computer for first use" that is displayed for about 3-5 seconds and then it restarts and displays abruptly: "cannot start Windows. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. "I tried the safe mode, but also"last known good configuration"and I get the same results. Finally, I tried the repair function on the installation disc and says am Startup Repair is unable to repair the computer automatically, where then I click to send information to Microsoft to be told that if I had all the devices attached like a camera or portable music player to remove them and restart. I have nothing set, no flash player or anything.
I tried to do all the steps above a dozen times each, and the results are consistent, except that the start of repair is sometimes said that there is nothing wrong with windows. Here also to point out that I had XP running on it before without problem and I tested the DVD on another computer and it worked.

    Hi Austin,.

You can try some of them in Mode safe - tap F8 repeatedly that you start.

If you do not have a Windows 7 disc, you can borrow a friends because they are not a copy
protected. The manufacturer of your system will also sell the physical DVD cheap since you already
Clean Windows. You can also do an ERD on another computer.

Try the Startup Repair - (if at anytime, benefit you from some, but not full access coming to Windows
return and then try to startup repair.)

  • Non-accessible HARD drive is setup installation of Windows XP on my laptop

    Hello

I have my 144TU Compaq Presario CQ40 (Intel C2D T5800, 160 GB of HDD, 2 GB of RAM).
I have installed XP using a customized bootable XP to support SATA drivers using nLite.
I use the same CD custom in this slot the entire post, so the problem of SATA not supported by XP is elimintated.
I also setup a ubuntu installation I've ever used.
I had a dual boot on my system with Windows XP Pro and Linux Ubuntu, last week I tried to delete the partitions of Ubuntu from Win XP computer management window. The system got hanged and I did a force close. When the computer reboots, the system hangs after a few minutes on the desktop. After several restarts (force) the OS is not boot at all. When I tried to do a formatting the OS drive and delete the Linux partitions using the XP bootable CD, the installation XP is unable to access the disk hard and don't show any of the logical drives as well as readers of Linux. The box which offers the list of the installed OS and their readers is to give a message that cannot access/mutual HARD drive.
By mistake, I think I can have deleted the partition that had the top MBR. (I'm sure I didn't want to remove the disk from the operating system. I tried to remove the drive that was on display as unallocated (ubuntu leads usually shows as unallocated)).
I tried the fixmbr command in the XP Recovery console, but it says that the drive we are trying to access is not available.
I tried to use a mini Windows XP live CD (Hirens Bootable CD), which had an option to scan the HARD drive and find partitions.
The HARD disk is scanned and my 2 XP partitions are located. It gives me the possibility to mount the partitions on the XP mini.
I mounted the partitions and my 2 XP disks are intact. I think that there is a problem when accessing the HARD drive to the start-up level.
    Help, please.

    Thank you
    Gordon

    Ok...

    That's what I did.

I was much concerned of my HARD drive to my data.

So I unplugged my laptop HARD drive and carried it on the desk of a friend who had a SATA port.

Plugged here and thank God it was detected, deleted all partitions and did a full format of the HARD drive.

Fresh made 3 partitions and plugged the HARD drive into my laptop and installed WinXP which was a success.

    Kind regards

    Gordon

  • Re-installation of Windows of the Gateway Laptop

I got a Gateway laptop to fix

It is riddled with viruses and malware.

Rather than trying to remove viruses and malware, I want to wipe and reinstall Windows

I have the license key on the laptop. But I don't have a disk for Windows 7 Home Premium.

How can I get a copy or what can I do else?

Windows 7 support is hard to find right now, you can ask a friend if she has a copy, or if your computer is too old, you can try windows 10 and use your product key to authenticate.

  • After the installation of Windows 8, my computer is running slowly

Hi, I installed Windows 7 Pro 64 bit, Windows technical overview 2014 32-bit and Linux Ubuntu 64-bit 14.10 about half a year before. However, after I installed Windows 8.1 Professional 64-bit (from a pre-installed HP Win8.1) on the same machine, Win7, Tech Preview & short Win8 extremely slow.

Can someone answer me what is the problem?

    My machine data:

HARD drive: WD 1 TB SATA3: 100 GB for Windows 7 Pro 64-bit (NTFS), 100 GB for Windows 8 Professional 64-bit (NTFS), 50 GB of spare, 10 GB for Linux Ubuntu 14.10 64-bit (ext4), 1 GB Linux Swap (swap), 150 GB of data (NTFS), then release of space

    CPU: Intel Core i5-4570, 3.2 GHz, 4 cores, L1 cache 256 KB, cache L2 1. 0 MB, 6.0 MB L3 cache

    RAM: 1 * 4. 0 GB DDR3 1600 MHz

Who are unable to contribute to slow, because everything that is using disk space available.  As long as you have enough free for Windows to run efficiently (about 10 to 20 percent of the drive is free space), then it will not contribute to the slowness.  It doesn't matter how many files a reader has on it regarding the speed of the performance of your operating system and applications.

  • WUSB54GC - WLAN monitor does not not on Windows 2000 SP4 computer laptop

I have a WUSB54GC v3 and I tried to install the drivers and the WIFI monitor on a Gateway Solo 5300 laptop running Windows 2000 SP4.  When I put the disc, the installation automatically started, but stopped after a few seconds with a pop message saying, "this version of windows is not supported" (or something similar to that).  I read in this forum and learned how to manually install the driver from the disk I did.  I checked the device using troubleshooting in Device Manager and shows the driver to be installed correctly and the device works correctly.

My big problem is that the monitor WLAN (the little green square in the bottom right of the screen) will not illuminate.  There are no available wireless networks and the monitor does not respond to the "Refresh" or anything else.  It seems to be "dead".  How can I get the monitor to work?

    Thank you!

    Mike

WUSB54GC is not compatible with Window2000... So either you can upgrade your operating system to Windows XP, or you can go for different cards as WUSB54G.

disabled on the Windows Xp laptop after 6 months (has been repaired at the time) and it says log in password has expired and asking me to create a new but I forgot the password to myold because it uses to connect automatically so I never had to go, before going to the Juno connect... There are no icons so cannot open anything all the it watch is the homepage and this message keeps coming up

Start the computer in safe mode and log on to the built-in account named administrator .  You will need to know the password, if any, for this account.  Once, go to Panel > user accounts and change the password for your regular account.

Then, restart the computer and you connect to your regular account with the new password.  If the computer has a floppy drive, you can make a password reset disk
