HP 15 g-014dx is the model, btw

In the past, occsionally I would get that a blue screen with the message of system_thread_exception_not_handled (atikmdag.sys) and my laptop will re-start. But it is not all that often. When he did, it would be when I got several tabs open and watched a video. At this point, I looked at the error and saw in another thread, the suggestion of CCleaner, tried that myself and it seems to help.

But today it happened a little bit. I tried to run CCleaner, but it did not help this time. And now it's happening even if I have just a tab open with the video I am watching.

    Hello

Have you updated your operating system instructions offered on http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/generic/windows8_1-message/?

  • atikmdag.sys

Hello. I recently bought a laptop HP with the cursed Windows 8, and it hangs on a daily basis with the exceptions generated by the famous atikmdag.sys file. Googling the problem find scads of possible corrections, which are all different and some are even diabolically complicated for a year IT pro 20. Is there a simple and definitive for this problem solution? I know it's a problem of Windoze, but I had no choice but to have 8 Windoze on the machine when I bought it, I tell myself that HP is at least complicit in the problem.  I really don't want to be faffing with the BIOS or burrowing deep into the system and Windoze config files.

I reinstalled the HP support assistant ATI driver, but that had no effect.

    Update

I had to search for "atikmdag.sys" and struck a number of threads. All bar one are of little use, with members of the HP employees suggesting that reset the BIOS or restore factory settings or perform a system recovery. It (that I know of my HP Pavilion previous, using Win 7, who went to phutt, making me buy this beast) costs several tens of hours, not less, data restore and reinstall applications for HD. A bit OTT for an occasional if strongly irritating crash.

The only wire that had a solution has been this one, who advised removing the faulty driver disk then by downloading the ATI driver. So, can someone point me to a page where the ATI driver can be downloaded? Thank you.

    Fred

    Hi Fred,.

Think, here's a simple solution. This is the link of the page tool AMD driver Autodetect.

    http://support.AMD.com/en-us/download/auto-detect-tool

The AMD driver tool Autodetect is designed to detect the model of graphics card and the version of the operating system installed on your computer.

Please, run the tool, install the appropriate driver. It should saturate previous driver, basically the same procedure that you posted.

Don't forget to start and configure the catalyst control center after.

I am sure, it will solve the problem.

    All the best!

Well, I was playing League and my pc just crashed for atikmdag.sys, and after that he has never again, pc seems to work very well, l ights lights. fan starts working, etc., but I guess that no image.

I found a solution for the problem of atikmdag.sys but need the pc to start to do lol.
I already past slots of ram, removed the battery, you press power button for 30 seconds, remove battery Council, removal of hard drive.
nothing seems to work.is it is possible that the graphics card is dead?
It is anyway, a bi - gpu

should not t he at least start from the integrated graphics card or something?
I have no idea what to do.

is it possible that the graphics card is dead?

I fear that this could be the problem.

The fact atikmdag.sys part of the ATI drivers BSOD package is especially a sign of serious software or hardware malfunction.

If the laptop powers properly upward, the POST (power on self-test) cannot be passed, and this means that the material could be affected.
Sorry, Matt, but everything looks like the GPU could be the troublemaker.

If the laptop is out of warranty, the fix will be expensive because GPU / motherboard are one of the laptop computer cheap parts.

    Hello

References to Vista also apply to Windows 7.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
    each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
    necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
    manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

It is preferable to ensure that the latest drivers from the manufacturer of system and device manufacturers are located)

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable the facilities of driver under Windows

be older and cause problems. If updates offers a new driver and then HIDE it (right click on it)

  • Several BSOD in an interval of two hours due to 'atikmdag.sys' and NTFS.sys with BlueScreenView

    Hello

So I have recently reinstalled Windows 7 and I got those BSOD in an interval of two hours. The space between the first and the second was almost an hour and a half and the space between the second, third and fourth was five minutes from each other. I'll post the DMP files for anyone to look at to see what you make of it... I used them for BlueScreenView check and in the two first, I found "tcpip.sys" in the third, I found "NTFS.sys" and the fourth, I found "atikmdag.sys" contributing... I also noticed that one particular exe file appeared in all four defective BSOD "ntoskrnl.exe". Could someone help with this? Another thing I noticed, I don't seem to have problems with Safe Mode with networking.

The four dump files in RAR herefile.

I think you have brewing here is conflict between AVAST and Malwabytes Pro. You can have more than one AV product with real-time protection (RTP) real installed.

Please uninstall Malwarebytes and reinstall the free version without the feature of RTP, or completely uninstall AVAST (preferred) and uninstall and reinstall the full version of Malwarebytes Pro.

    AVAST uninstall utility.

Note: Regardless of the above, you decide to keep and reinstall, you must upgrade to the latest virus definitions and run a scan completes. Why? Because, as long as the conflict exists on your system, it is less certain that he would have been, with only on AV product installed.

Well, a few months ago, that my pc started having BSOD, first I thought that it was a power supply problem, because I had a generic power supply, I was wrong

is not the first time that I see those, on every single bsod I have is the same atikmdag.sys or simply, I reinstalled drivers AMD a lot with no satisfactory results

I use a Samsung UltraBook 5 series running Windows 8.

After a few weeks, when I start my laptop (usually after I put it to sleep), I'd get a BSOD with the message

    SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (Usbd.sys).

After 2 or 3 times, I restored my laptop completely. After 2 weeks, it again. I don't know what could be the reason. But im announces a few possible things that could be the cause. Someone please tell me what to do.
Im running avast antivirus. I use a usb to LAN adapter, I use spotflux or ultrasurf (proxies). Someone please help. I don't know how to get dump files and all that. Then please ask. Thank you!
We need the DMP file because it contains the single record of the sequence of events that led to the accident, what drivers have been loaded, and what has been loaded.

WE NEED AT LEAST TWO FILES DMP TO SPOT TRENDS AND TO CONFIRM THE DIAGNOSIS.

If you're overclocking (pushing components beyond their design) return you to default at least until the crash is resolved. If you don't know what it is that you're probably not overclocking.
You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting in SafeMode (F8) with networking.
If you are overclocking stop.  (chances are that if you are unsure if you are, you are not)

I remove KIS and use the built in Defender and re - install the latest driver of ASUS.  If this is the latest driver you should always reinstall it as drivers are damaged.

    Hi Hazzer9061,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I read your thread on your HP ENVY m6-1310sa laptop and crashing. Try perform a reset. When you perform a hard reset note remove all USB devices and remove cards memory card reader location. Disconnect all non-essential devices. If that doesn't help try to turn on the computer, on which you begin to press F11 repeatedly until the menu opens. You can do a System Restore. System restore would return the notebook in time before that happened.

Here is a link to overheatingas it may be the cause of the closure. If the laptop has dust on the fans it might be overheating graphics card. If this does not help at the end of this document it tells you to do a test equipment. The last thing you should try is tothe BIOS was updated.

    I hope this helps.

Seriously... is there anyone who knows if it is a problem of HP or Microsoft, and how can I get HP to fix it? I have seen the complex examples long on microsoft of people having the same problem but different notebooks... I really don't understand why I should risk trying to do this on mine when it's A BRAND NEW? COMPUTER
