HP 15 Notebook PC: PC slow

Hello

I bought this computer a year ago. I use it for much. Check my email online (i.e. Gmail) and my iPod was updated (for example, iTunes).

It was slow when I got it, it's still slow. Typing in this forum is slow. My PC is delayed in the visualization of the characters, I type.

It started with Windows 8, and it was so long. Microsoft offered a free upgrade for Windows 10, so I did, it could solve the problem of hope. I did, but it does not solve the problem.

I'm late to display this problem on a forum so far because I was hoping that I would be able to fix myself through Google searches. So far, I've come empty-handed.

I think that it is not that I have too many things on my computer.

I posted the details of my PC below.

If there are other details, I can provide to help solve the problem, please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

Peter

OK, I do not work for HP and I will take the liberty to say that it is. You have published hundreds of lines of specs without meaning, but this is all I need to know:

Processor: AMD E1 - 2100 APU with graphics Radeon (TM) HD (2 CPUs), ~1.0GHz

The processor is dreck, garbage, garbage, garbage. It doesn't have on a computer that is running something newer than Windows 2000. Your cell phone has a faster processor. And it is soldered to the motherboard, so there is no possible upgrade. You can change this and tweak that and it will always be slower than h * l.

Try to sell this thing to someone else or give it to your nephew you don't really like a lot and get a new laptop computer. I hope that you have not paid a lot for it. Next time that ask questions about what you buy and try to understand where the product is located in terms of performance relative to other competing products. Get at least an i3 processor. It is worth the money. Don't be cheap though, you lose your investment.

It is not defective. He performs as expected there just no be it power.

Sorry to be too blunt, but it's the truth.

  • Months "Pavilion DV7 notebook" running VERY slow

Had this laptop for the summer holidays, maybe there are 8-10 or more weeks and have had no problems with it so far.

My laptop is so slow that I have something like 'my documents' loading can take 5 minutes and then hang. I write this from my phone my computer now runs so slowly that google chrome loading isn't really worth a try.

My characteristics are (and it took me about 10 minutes to load).

    -5.4 windows experience index
    -Processor intel core i5 - 240 M @ 2.50 GHz processor
    -6 GB of RAM
    -64-bit operating system
    -windows 7 Home premium

The task manager says I have my uses CPU is around what it would be before the problem (at least I think that's normal) but I am using 1.67 GB of memory, when nothing does not load, is - it normal I never really watched who before today.

I did a 'system restore' who got running again for 30 minutes before it further deteriorated.

    I defragmented my drives.

I deleted temporary files and run "cc cleaner".

Pressing f10 at startup I got to perform a free hard drive scan (I think that's what it was called) - the result of this test was: "full hard drive 1 (305)"-I guess it's bad.
On the same page, there was also a "memory test", going on the computer.

I did a virus scan anti by using "avira".

Any help you can give me would be welcome. I am a child of 15 years and it took me something like 30 weeks of my paper round of savings to buy this laptop. My mom and dad will kill me, so if I can fix it before I have to tell them, that would allow me to save a lot of grief.

Sorry if this is the wrong section.

    Hello

305 error code is a complete failure of the (Full) drive self test failed and would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced.  This is also consistent with the problem of slow performance.  It is just the failure of a component and could happen to anyone.

Your laptop must be under warranty, contact HP and arrange for the replaced disk - you can check your warranty status here.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

If you are in another part of the world, begin here.

  • HP 14-r024tx Notebook PC: slow perfomarnce and crashes when you try to open Microsoft Publisher after restart/refresh

    Hello

I just bought my HP laptop 2 months ago. Everything was fine, quick and convenient until the market a few days ago, it prompted a message saying that I need to update it. So I did, and thereafter, all my installed applications like Skype, internet browsers, etc., have disappeared. I tried to reinstall applications and all goes well but a bit slower. I thought that I needed to update some applications to improve performance, so I checked for some and tried to install the.

Then yesterday, when I tried to open Microsoft Publisher, my laptop suddenly froze. The mouse and the keyboard didn't work so I had to turn off using the power switch. And every time I turned it on, everything was just slow.

Can you help me solve the problem? Also, can you help me to speed up its performance?

Thank you very much in advance.

    Hi @blissss ,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I will do my best to help you. I read on your 14 HP - laptop r024tx with slow speeds. Thank you for all the information on what is happening.

Something is slowing down the laptop. Have you installed some antivirus or firewall? If you disable what are your speed better. I got a DVD in my notebook that has slowed the process of starting a lot. You can check this.

Here's a document on improving your system.

Make sure that all updates are completed within the control panel or click the Windows key and start typing the laptop settings, then go to update.

Please let me know how it goes.

    Thank you.

  • After recovering the Satellite L300 is slower and freezes

    Hello

I just restored my 1DN back to factory settings L300 - but now I find that my computer is very slow and freezes for 1 second about every seconds frew. Certainly, it does not perform as it did before you restore the factory settings. For example videos etc. freeze every few seconds and do not play smoothly as they did.

No idea why this is and if she has nothing to do with the restoration of factory settings? And how can I solve this problem?

    Thank you

    Hello

After the laptop recovery procedure is certainly not up-to-date and I imagine that many Microsoft updates will be downloaded and installed. If you use the factory settings it is on automatic and several hours or maybe two updates will be downloaded and installed.

While the installation of updates that I can imagine that the notebook is quite slow and you'll be noticed freezing or stopped video playback.

Before you start using your laptop, install all updates and optimize the operating system preinstalled. Typical result of the new installation of the OS's slow start.
Please check this thread. You can find a useful tip how make your computer faster.

  • Satellite M40: the memory bus frequency

    Hi all

    I have a question.

Time I think to upgade my M40-193 from 1 GB ram to 2 GB of ram, because he thinks it's too slowly.
Analysis of my memory with memtest, systool and other software I found that it work with bus frequency of 106 MHz in single channel mode.
This thing is very disappointing for me!

    Can anyone confirm that?
Really this notebook runs so slow?

In my personal opinion all these tools does not provide the values exactly.

As you mentioned the memtest, systool and other software said something about 106 Mhz. The saids CPu - Z 166 Mhz. s mysterious and in my opinion not really good.

However, you want to upgrade the memory? Well, you can use the module memory 2 x 1 GB as 1024Mo PC2700 (PA3313U-2M1G)

  • Using the drive almost always at 100% at the start and sometimes at other times

Recently, my laptop seemed particularly overwrought, even when executing threads. Whenever I start it (and also sometimes at random so that I use for light work), it is much slower than it has been in the past, and when I check the tast Manager, it says that the disc is in 90 to 100% almost every time. So I watch programs using the floppy and almost all of them use it with a rate of 0 MB/s, and all other use at a fairly slow pace. I know it's normal for notebook computers to slow down over time (mine is a little over a year old), but I wonder if it is an expected behavior. I find it odd that the drive is the treatment so furiously, but it seems to me that no program is really use it. I enclose below, pictures of my complete task manager a few minutes after starting.

My processor is an Intel i7-4700MQ CPU @ 2.40 GHz and I have 12 GB of RAM.

    @MirandaSnow ,

Hello and thanks for the display on the HP support forums.  What you have going here is not a hardware problem.  It is a common problem with windows 8.1 and an update.

Here are some links that I could find that should help you with this problem.

Use of the disk Windows 8.1 100%

Windows 8 guard slows to grip and 100% use of the disk.

How to fix: problem of its use for the drive 100% Windows 8

Let me know how things are going with this.

Thanks again for posting and have a great day.

My notebook was very slow for a few months back (statrup, stop, running, everything). I had no restore points to restore, thereofore, I decided to get back to 'hors category' stage.

Before, I did diagnostic system. I followed results.

Then I did a system recovery. During the installation of original software, I got following message

"Recovery manager cannot restore your computer by using the original image. Please contact HP support. 0xe0ef0003 error code.

What is the problem with my computer. I can recover the contents of my hard drive. (I did a backup during recovery)

    Hello

You will need to replace the hard drive with a new one.

If your laptop is still under warranty, contact HP Total Care to a new hard drive you sent without cost to you. If this isn't the case, then it is time to buy a replacement hard drive.

You must locate your recovery disk series or usb recovery media that you have created in order to reinstall the operating system that was purchased with your laptop.

If you have not created the recovery media, then you will need to buy a set of HP or an HP partner. (for about $25.00)

  • Slow WLAN on my satellite notebook

    Hello

My wired desktop is fine, but when it connects to the internet over the wireless, my computer satellite phone is really slow! I've updated the WLAN drivers and it seemed to help, but I'm back to square one with the speed! Any help would be appreciated.

I had no problem like this before and the wireless internet has been slow for about a week now, but since the upgrade of drivers, it was Transiently faster. Do I have to update all the other drivers?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

Usually an other updates are not necessary. I recommend you first check the advanced settings in the WLan card properties.

You can access the properties in Device Manager-> network-> (right click, properties) WLan card controller.
The Advanced tab offers different options that could help to achieve better performance of WLan.

  • Notebook became slow

    Hi all!

I bought a laptop G6 - 1330sr. was pleased with the performance is good. It took a year and the laptop has been slow. Now running windows 7 is not possible. Wanted to reinstall the system, but too long is loaded word "Start Installation" i.e. hangs and nothing happens. And I can't bear to turn off the power the computer 30 minutes.

I think it is a hard drive or processor heats up. But where I can check the temperature of the processor? In the BIOS-e is not found. But notice he is crowned the same as before.

I'm sorry. It's my English. I have bad m speaks English.

    Hello

I don't think you need to replace the hard drive as the error code and description of the problem are all compatible with a failed drive.

Replace the hard drive yourself is a fairly simple and brief procedure is detailed below.

Your computer is listed as coming with a 320 GB hard drive, but you can also easily install a 750 GB HARD drive if you want a little more space - readers at the following links are some examples that would be perfect for your laptop.

    Hard drive 500 GB

    750 GB hard drive.

The procedure to replace the hard drive begins on Page 56 of your & Maintenance Guide.

Once this is done, simply use your recovery DVD to reinstall the operating system on the new drive - this is described in the document of HP here.

    Best regards

ANY help - in particular a working Solution - would be most appreciated!

    Thanks in advance!

    Here is the solution!

Run mssconfig.exe (click the Start button, type msconfig, click msconfig.exe)

On the STARTUP tab, disable all programs except those required for your computer.

In my case (HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook) the following programs have been enabled (checked).
    Synaptics Pointing Device Driver<= the="" latptop="" key="">
    IDT Audio of PC<= the="" laptop="" sound="">
    HP CoolSense<= the="" laptop="" temperature="">
    MS Security Client<= microsoft="" security="">
    MS SkyDrive<= microsoft="" on-line="">

    EVERYTHING has been disabled (unchecked)

    Then I restarted the laptop.

The keyboard problem has been resolved and is been solved!

I learned from a friend of tech support that all other startup programs no longer of
grains which are responsible to speed up loading of the program if you want to use.
Deactivation of these nuclei may be added 1 or 2 seconds of loading time.  And frankly, I
did not notice any delay at all when I called is no longer in a program that has been pre-loaded.

Obviously, one of the nuclei was causing the keyboard problem.

    Total time invested; fifteen minutes.

Better that HP wanted to load to "clean" my laptop at $99!

  • HP Support Assistant missing and Notebook Pavilion g6 turning very slow

I have a Pavilion laptop g6 AX 1209 running on a Windows 7 Home basic 64 - bit OS. I uninstalled wrong "HP Setup" software through a third-party software called "Revo Uninstaller". Now I find my HP product Assistant in my missing task bar. My OS has become too slow as a result. Help, please.

If you are using the pro version of revo uninstaller, their Web FAQ site says there is a way to undo the uninstalation. http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_frequently_asked_questions.html

If it is not... Well, you have learned your lesson. System Restore is one of the most important features of Windows7 and I will disable it not.

If you have backed up your system and files with a mirror image you can use it to restore. I'm not a geek, but if I were in your position, my last resort is to save my files on removable media and do another reinstall with my recovery disk to restore my laptop to factory settings.
