  What is Windows Update KB970158? It installs wihtout my permission on a restart. I can't find it under control panel window delete updates. I immediately restored my computer to three days BEFORE the installation of this update and it does not clear.   I suggest that you uninstall and reinstall the sound card drivers and check if the problem persists.

   
  a. Click Start, type Device Manager and press ENTER.
  (b) in the Device Manager, select sound, video and game controllers and the same.
  c. highlight the driver, right click and choose uninstall.
  d. restart the computer, if prompted.
   
  After the computer restarts, reinstall the sound drivers and check if this solves the problem.
   
  Note: Make sure that you download and save the latest audio drivers on your hard disk before you uninstall the same device manager.

  You can replace it with this number of HP spare. It will be smaller, slower, and 3 times more expensive. Computer laptop SATA hard drives are interchangeable, generic, industry standard. If you buy the one above and it doesn't work PM me and I'll buy it for you at your expense.

  You should have mad a set of usb flash drive recovery or a disk before installing Windows 10 Tech preview. I think that you realize that now.

  You can buy a HP recovery key at a reasonable price. usually, it is about $25,00 USD.

  I recently had to do this in one of my PC and it took three days complete (!) for the Windows Update process finish.  One day find updates, one day to download and one day to apply.

  To add to the frustration, during downloads, progress 'freeze' to zero percent!

  So, I had it got stuck - but she didn't - and this is important!  Go to C:\Windows\Distribution.  If there are files and folders, Windows Update works, it is simply not updated status information.

• Good question after Windows update on Satellite P100 PSPA3E

  I encountered a problem with my sound card after a Windows Update. It became an old analog tuner with problems of dust on his volume knob. (this is a reference "sounds like" for those old enough to remember) I updated the driver to the most recent DriverGuide.com, no joy.

  Hi a family member recently gave me their laptops because Windows Update has been warning that it was unable to check the updates.  It is currently running Visa Home Premium 32 bit.  After much googling and try several suggestions such as rename the file and the updated Windows Update repair tool, that I couldn't solve the problem so did a factory restore and went to reinstall the programs.  To my surprise the problem returns.  I did a restore to factory again and this time installed Vista SP2 from the file download full, installed office 2003, applied to Office 2003 SP3 and all other updates to Office 2003 I have saved and installed IE9.  Windows Update worked at this stage.  I ghost the PC, then changed Windows update of "Windows only" Windows Update "Windows and other Microsoft products" and re-run.  He looked for hours until I turned off the PC and now error code 8024402F.  My first thought is what happens when you turn on other products from microsoft for Windows Update is it downloads and installs something on the web.  Is there a problem with this module?  I have not yet installed an Antivirus so I know this isn't a factor.  Does anyone have any ideas as to what may be the problem?

  I think that I already tried but tried again without success.  I tried several things including Windows 7 instead of Vista, a different installation of Microsoft Office 2003 in the case where mine was corrupted etc, but still no luck.  As soon as Windows Update has been changed to include Microsoft Products he kept fails with this error.

  In the end, I tried newer versions of Office (reconstruction of the laptop each time) and with Office 2010 and Office 2013 it works fine.

  My uneducated conclusion is that there is a compatibility issue with Microsoft Update and Office 2003.

  So my solution is to upgrade to Office 2013.  Sorry, it is not a solution to the real problem, more of a work around, but hey 2003 was almost 10 :) 9 years ago

  I eventually found the problem with the question. It was a corruption in the files of the .NET framework causing updates ends do not. I uninstalled and reinstalled the framework and it fixed the issue.
