I was trying to do a restore with the discs I bought at HP and I had this "Recovery attempt failed" message with options for the recovery to restart or show details. So I restarted the recovery and inserted disk 1 as she asked. He went through the process again and it came with this same message "recovery attempt failed." This time, I clicked on the details and it came with Notepad called CTOERROR.flg with the following:

My question is why can I not successfully complete the recovery process?
On my fourth attempt, I got Windows 8 successfully.

What I did I went into the BIOS, I changed the date to 01/02/2012 and then secure boot disabled and enabled legacy mode.
I put in the recovery discs, with the exception of the supplement disk and leave them in their process and when it prompted me to restart, I did, but I went into the BIOS again and changed the date to 01/02/2012.
I then let him complete the recovery process, it took about 6 hours.
After that, I was in Windows 8.
I then went into the BIOS and set the correct date and enabled secure boot and disabled the legacy mode.

Finally it came to a window (Recovery Manager) with the following msg

The following is details. Something attracted my attention is, see below in red (my version of Win 7 should be Home Premium 64-bit). HP sent me DVDs bad? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Recovery attempt failed 15 TS envy
I bought a laptop HP Envy TouchSmart 15 about 7 months ago, the model 15-j152nr, the E7Z52UA product. I installed office 2013 on that and worked very well. Four days ago, I tried to use MS word, but it crashed immediately. I tried every application for office, and they all did the same thing. I did some research and found to fix it, I would need to do a cleaning of the HARD drive. Therefore, I tried to use the disks I burned but they wouldn't appear as a boot option. So I ordered a new series of HP. I got a USB key with everything I needed. I plugged it in and booted the computer, everything was fine, he installed the software and drivers, then he tried to load the office, but when he did, a message came from the Recovery Manager box. He said that "the recovery attempt failed. Select one of the following buttons. These buttons allow you to save paper, knowledge or try again. I retried to use this key 5 times to perform a system recovery, but each time, in the same exact spot I get this box. I also ran a computer complete diagnosis to ensure that it is not a hardware problem. Everything going brilliantly. If I hit the button Details, the message I get comes Notepad and stipulates the following:

Have you tried referring to the date 01/01/2012 in the BIOS? This trick works several times you use any recovery media.

No you don't need all. For example in the category Chipset, you need to Installation of the Intel Chipset and Intel Management Engine. But there are 3 different USB drivers only one matches your hardware. Also, you will not need driver Intel Graphics. The AMD graphics driver should include the two Intel & AMD for switchable graphics. Under network drivers you have Realtek for the wired lan port of your laptop, don't know not what wireless card you only 1 driver will match.

I have a
HP ENVY 17-j017cl Notebook computer Touchsmart I bought 4 DVD for HP Recovery supports a month previously, when I I want to recover I get this error explained below.
I was trying to fix it, I did the following;
1. turn on the wifi
2 bios date was set before the 22/06/2014
3 reset the default bios
BUT THE ERROR PERSISTS.
By selecting Save Log asks to insert a USB key which shows essentially the same message as details (see below).

Cables and devices to disconnect all the connected such as personal media players, USB drives, printers and faxes. Remove support for internal hard drives and remove any recently added hardware internally.
It may be necessary to disable startup secure in the BIOS to start the computer using recovery media (CD/DVD or USB key).
The new recovery for 2015 fall update manager must be downloaded and installed to successfully carry out a recovery of the system using HP Recovery Manager.
It takes a minimum of 3 GB of free space to install the update in the Recovery Manager.
Do you back up all personal files and read all of the instructions required warning before performing a system recovery? To backup your files will result in a loss of files and information you don't want to lose.
To get the instructions back up and save your files, see back up your files (Windows 10: 8).
The full recovery process may take 4 to 6 hours or longer to complete. For best results, the computer must not be connected to the Internet. The computer will restart several times during the process. Do not turn off or interrupt the recovery process until the prompt to log on Windows.

Details. Most likely it is hard disk problem. When you restart, see if you can get into the diagnostics (F2 as you turn on) and run a full test of the material loop.

I just successfully replace the SSD, exchanging an old 250 GB HDD with a new 250 GB HARD drive.

Partition recovery system fails after the first start
I just purchased and receive the laptop next: Pavilion DV7-6C95DX. I went through the Setup program and then created recovery DVD.
After playing with him for a short period, I decided to try to restore to factory using the recovery partition and F11 State when starting. This started the Recovery Manager, which (according to his Checklist), reformat the Windows partition, copy the files required and restored the file on the hard drive. Then it prompted me to restart and complete the process, which I did.
When starting, it reported that he immediately reported "Windows could not start...". "Status: 0xc000000f... a necessary device inaccessible."

This error can occur if there are USB devices or media attached to your laptop cards. If this is the case, remove all connected to your laptop then repeat the recovery process.
If the above is not relevant, I would try the following to rule out a hardware problem.
Before you try the following, make sure you can read the activation code on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).
Assuming that it's just a problem of software with the recovery process, it is a job before right around if you have (or can borrow) an installation disc Windows 7 at retail which is exactly the same version as your OEM installation - IE if your laptop comes with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, it comes to version exact commercial that you would need.
If you don't have access to a retail disk, you can create an installation disk yourself using another PC - just download the good Disk Image from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc is here. These Images are clean and a well respected source, however there are only limited versions available.

In the Event Viewer, I had this error SEVERAL times every second. He goes absolutely crazy.
I don't know what to do with it.
I'm with Windows 8 Pro running on a very stable computer with 8gig of ram, plenty of hard drive space. Each single drivers updated Windows Update. Everything is really clean except this error in Event Viewer

Exactly the same problem, nothing Microsoft recommended was the cause, scannow and DISM commands are returned without error.
So I went to the event viewer and scrolled down to find, when these errors began to occur. So I found a few entries initially saying things like: an attempt to move the file 'C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Local\TileDataLayer\Database\EDB.log' to 'C:\Users\xxxxxxxx\AppData\Local\TileDataLayer\Database\EDB00008.log' failed indicating system 183 (0x000000b7) error: "cannot create a file when that file already exists.
Then, I went to C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Local\TileDataLayer\Database\ and removed the files listed (e.g., EDB00008.log).
Bingo, the errors will stop immediately.

I install my host ESX server in vmware workstation. It works fine except when I am creating virtual machines.
I'm not able to install the operating system on the virtual machine and I get this error that appears inside the virtual machine.
Unable to connect to the host server: a connection attempt failed because the connected party did not respond after a certain time, or established connection failed because connected host has no
to answer. Do you want to retry?
My ESX server hosts have static IP addresses.
I've seen a few similar posts on this issue, but their solutions have not worked for me.

I think we confuse you. ESX server is running like a machine virtual within the workstation, correct? If Yes, then you must edit the vmx esx server with these entries monitor configuration file *. They can go anywhere in the file. Once those have been added, you should be able to run 32-bit virtual machines within the esx server.

Stream 13-c002: 10 broken Windows, recovery & reset fail.
Hello.
I bought a laptop HP flow, with 10 Windows pre-installed.
I burned a set of recovery disks. I also got the product key OEM of Windows from the BIOS.
Then my broken Windows 10. Cannot start. Get reviews of the process died error.
Then I tried to recover. I get errors on the recovery of all and reset methods. Tried to 'keep my files', 'erase disc', etc..
Then I downloaded and installed the unique language of Microsoft Windows 10 N ISO. It installs and runs without error.
But he does not accept the product key OEM HP on this Stream l.
I suspect that the store may have updated the computer from 8 to 10, and the OEM key is for 8, not 10.
According to the HP website, my warranty is active.
What can I do? I believe that, if the computer comes with 8, then if HP would provide 8 installation disc, that would solve everything. The recovery partition is not, so I need the complete installation disk.
Or any other solution?

Looks like the machine shipped with Windows 8.1 so it must have been updated with the windows 10 - this means generally that the upgraded version would be 10 Windows Home 64-bit.
As long as the installation of Windows 10 has been enabled, the profile of this material should have been registered with the Microsoft activation servers and reinstall the correct version should translate into automatic start-up; but it is version dependent. Try to perform a new installation with 64-bit Windows 10 Home as stated in the guide on the following link.

I have a Satellite L500D, which has Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit.
I have the recovery CD is 32-bit, however, and I need to reinstall Windows.I'm assuming that this drive can install the 32-bit version and does not give you the option - if after installation, is there always a partition on the HARD drive for the 64 bit version?
If possible, I want to continue to use the 64-bit edition.

Did you create this disc using the Toshiba Recovery Media creator?
If so, then the pre-installed Win 64 bit should be part of the image that you created using this software.
Generally, when booting, you should get the option where you could choose between 63 bits and 32 bits of the system.

Creation of recovery Win 7 64 bit for Satellite L500-19 x disc?
My new Satellite L500 - 19 X came pre-installed with Win 7-64 bit version.
Also includes a "product recovery Win 7 32 bit" discInside of the package a brochure said:
"If you plan to use 64-bit at a later stage, please create a _recovery medium_ before installing Windows 7 32 bit"
He then warns me to create a "medium recovery 64-bit... you are ordering that 64-bit recovery media is not free."
The manual goes long on "_System Recovery Options" as stated in the manual I did a "Windows 7 64 bit repair disc" can I say that I don't have or can't have a real Win 7 64 bit disc?
The brochure says "a backup copy (file Win 7 64-bit) is stored on the hard drive as a _recovery image_" so is this the real Win 7 64 bit full disk that I'm after, and if so how do I get it?
Toshiba documentation is not clear, and I think rather contradicts itself?
I'm confused! Someone at - he understands what's going on?

If I understand correctly, you have received the laptop pre-installed with Win 7 64 bit OS.
But you didn t get the drive recovery Win 7 64 bit, but you have a Win 7 32 bit recovery disc. Is this good?Matt good the case is that the use of the recovery disk will format the entire HARD drive and will erase everything from the HARD drive. This means that you will lose the Win 7 64 bit OS preinstalled.
So if you would not create the recovery disk Win 7 64 bit before using the Win 7 32 bit recovery disc, then you will not be able to go back to the 64-bit version.Therefore, create the Win 7 64 bit recovery disc at the beginning. So you are safe and can install Win 32-bit and 64-bit when you want.
