HP 2311xi garbled text

When you view the text, the text often becomes blurred.  If I highlight the text it becomes clear.  It doesn't happen on any other monitor.  GeForce drivers are up to date and I can't find the settings that prevent that from happening.

Any suggestions would be gladly accepted.

The fix was to go into the advanced settings of Firefox and disable the hardware acceleration setting.  Apparently, it's a constant problem since version 17.  Firefox is now up to v.20.  My video card is a Radeon 4450 old and there may be no beef what Firefox does?  Not had the problem until I got this new monitor.

I have a T61p Vista 64-bit Professional computer. I've been running access connection 4.52 with great success. This morning I upgraded to V5.02, and I can't read the text on the screen of the AC. The text of the buttons has been distorted, and some of the text from other applications pours through in HQ screen. I'm sure this is because AC is now forcing Aero about us. Is there a way to get a Non-Aero skin or appearance of logins? Or I come V4.52?

    Dear Madam or Sir,

    Kind regards

    Ron Platt

PS I tried to join the two files (.pdf) but informs me that "image type is not allowed. Please notify.

    Hi Ron,

In your efforts, you mention in step #6 you save the file as a PDF secure. Applied security files cannot be previewed to the customer, that's why you get the message "cannot preview filetype please download the file for display. This message preview complete and preview the hover. After downloading the file, you should be able to access it without error (within the limits of the guarantee applied).

The hover behavior you report is expected. If you hover over a file name, you will see "hover" noticed after a few seconds, that will get you a small preview of the file (rather than having to open it in the overview). If poster only if you hover over a name of file, not in the empty area of each line, so that you have not seen continually arise.

  • Bookmarks and tab titles appear garbled text or text from an another bookmark until wriggle on

I just upgraded to Windows 8 and load Firefox 18 - I imported my bookmarks HTML file and bookmarks on the left display garbage or bad title until I have the mouse on them. Then they display correctly unless I have the mouse on them again. My tabs display bookmark titles until I have the mouse on them.

Try disabling hardware acceleration in Firefox.

You can check for problems with the database places.sqlite file in the Firefox profile folder.

  • Computer will display the text but not the graphics

I have a computer that is running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit that will display the text, but will not be graphic print (what I get is several pages of garbled text and what looks like Morse code).

The problem is the same with a HP Officejet Pro 6230 or an Officejet Pro 8100.

The problem occurs if I am connected with a domain users account or the local administrator account.

The problem occurs using the re-discovery of HP network port monitor or the standard TCP/IP port.

Two other computers connected to the printer and also running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit, you do not have the problem.

HP printing and doctor Scan didn't find any problem and is not the problem of printer Microsoft Fixit fix anything.

I will try to assign another driver by following the instructions at:

but I do not know what driver to use.

    This Technet article:

    http://blogs.technet.com/b/perfguru/archive/2008/08/06/print-spooler-crash-troubleshooting-steps.aspx

suggests that a third-party port monitor may be to blame. I tried to remove the rediscovery of HP Network Monitor, but I get an error and I can't remove it. As far as I can tell, this is the third port only installed on the computer monitor.

I have searched this forum, but could not find a similar problem that has a solution.

What other information should I provide?

    Thank you!

  • C310a and printing in PhotoShop

I spent a few hours with the help of Adobe about this issue and they advised me to contact HP. The problem is so...

After rebuilding my system (including the replacement of the motherboard and hard drive), I installed my printer using the same driver file, I have used for months. I then installed PhotoShop CC (which I had also used for months).

When I try to print from PhotoShop and go change the print settings, he calls to the top of the printer settings page (change the paper size, quality, etc.). The problem is that there are no options in the drop-down lists - they are completely empty. In addition, the titles of each box are random, garbled text, somewhat like symbols or windings. Sometimes looking for Chinese symbols, sometimes they change letters but foreign nature (such as an o with umlauts). Every time she changes, but there is nothing legible. Finally, the options to change the border to other options does not selct allow me anything - he's moving right back up to the top of the list, regardless of my choice.

Now, the strangest thing is that when I open the settings of anywhere else, it is very good. English is displayed and I can change the settings. This includes same Adobe LightRoom. It happens ONLY in PhotoShop.

Unsurprisingly, Adobe said, because she calls a third-party window, I have to contact HP. I insisted that it only happens in PhotoShop, but they want to do that to me.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the printer drivers, downloaded the new drivers, reset PhotoShop, uninstalled and reinstalled PhotoShop, begged, cried and threatened to my computer. All to nothing does not.

Someone would have an answer to what I have to go back to Adobe and prove them, be it, it's a problem with the printer or their software?

Click the Add Language button and select English.

  • Firewall Windows settings keep changing ~ I don't change them! HELP Please

Recently, I noticed that to change my Windows Firewall settings, AND I'm not modify them.

I set the Windows Firewall as follows:

    1. on the "Général" tab
I ticked the boxes: 'On' (recommended) and "don't allow exceptions".
    2. in the tab 'Exceptions ':
    NO boxes are checked
I ticked 'display a notification when Windows Firewall blocks a program '.
    3. on the "Advanced" tab
ONLY "Connection to the Local network" is checked
and under the 'Settings' button ICMP NO boxes are checked.

Periodically, I notice that my "Network Icon" (two screens) is very active when I'm not navigate on the internet or by e-mail.  When I click with the right button on the icon and select "Change Windows Firewall settings", I note that the following changes have been made to my original settings, BUT NOT BY me!

    1. on the "Général" tab
The box: 'On' (recommended) is checked
BUT "don't allow exceptions" is now disabled
    2. in the tab 'Exceptions ':
File sharing and printer is enabled
AND "Display a notification when Windows Firewall blocks a program" is now disabled
    3. on the "Advanced" tab
If I click on the box 'Connect to the Local network' that is always checked
under ICMP, and go to the "Settings" button
NOW, the first "Allow an incoming echo request" is checked.

Earlier this week, I hadn't double checked if the parameters have changed and started printing a Word document, I had been editing.  Before the start of my print file, my printer started to print pages and pages of garbled text (just the letters and not readable ~ grabage).  After the cancellation of all the print jobs, I checked the Windows Firewall settings again, and they had been changed from the original settings that I had chosen, once again!

The only way I can restore my original settings is to click on the default button on the tab "Advanced" and then double-checking the options I want.

This happens at least 8 times a day and makes me crazy, because I am constantly having to check if the Windows Firewall settings are as I put them in the first place.  If they are not, I have to go through this process over and over again.  By making print a nightmare, but it's also annoying to have to keep control of the settings.

Ask everything you big strong guys out there to give this 'small' a helping hand technique with this one, please.

    Thank you very much

    Hi ozhitch

Usually the text will be caused by low memory or the USB itself. Try to restart the printer by unplugging the power cord to the rear and supply (wall panel output or power). Print to try and it should work. You can even try to print a test page for the device to demonstrate the features of the printer, but the usual culprit is the cable. Try changing the USB cable and it should work.

I also found an update to fix the garbled text - download here

I hope it works for you!

  • Artifacts R400 weird screen (integrated graphics) running Win 7 RTM

Pretty much no matter what I do - I keep seeing weird "artificats" on my screen (integrated display and when to use an external monitor).  It is not a particular activity that requires even if switching windows exacerbates the problem.  I tried to use the pre-installed driver Win 7 and the latest drivers from Intel's RTM (Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator Driver for Windows 7 Release Candidate), and it made no difference.

What I see on the screen, it's as if a DVI connection is bad, but I can only compress/maximize the active window and immediately cleared debris from the screen.  I have a lot of free memory and don't have many applications open at any time. If I take a screen when this happens, debris from the screen appears there too, probably isn't the output device, but something is happening with the graphics card itself.

I disabled the Aero graphics until someone can help me understand what is happening.  I should not have done it on a new computer laptop!  What is the problem here?

    All,

We have published a official tip on what lies on our support site.

    Visual corruption - ThinkPad R400, R500, T400, T400s, T500, W500, X 200, X200s, X 200 Tablet, X 301

    Symptom

Visual corruption is seen on the screen. He tends to start isolated to a specific application window, but then starts quickly appear on all other windows in the application, and the office. Corruption usually appears as garbled text or images scrambled.

    Configurations affected
    The following configuration:
Microsoft Windows Vista or Windows 7 (32-bit or 64-bit)
Intel Virtualization Technology for Directed-IO (VT - d) is enabled in the BIOS Setup utility.
There are two bars of memory DIMM in the system, and they have a different size (for example, 2 GB and 1 GB).
On one of the following systems:
    ThinkPad R400(*1), R500(*2)
    T400(*1), T500(*1), T400s ThinkPad
    ThinkPad W500(*1)
    ThinkPad X 200, X200s, X 200 Tablet, X 301
    * 1: for models with switchable graphics, the system must be integrated graphics mode to see the failure.
    * 2: models with integrated only graphics.

    Workaround

    Option 1:
Disable virtualization for directed-IO (VT - d). This can be done in the BIOS Setup utility. When the system is first start (during POST), press F1 to enter the Setup utility. Then enter the Config menu and the submenu of the CPU. Changing VT - d for persons with reduced mobility.

    Option 2:
Make sure that there is only a single memory DIMM in the system.

    Option 3:
Make sure the memory of two DIMMs in the system are of equal size. For example, both are 2GB.
    VT - d
Virtualization for directed-IO (VT - d) technology is an assist of hardware for virtualization of i/o device (primary the DMA and interrupts). VT - d is not necessary to support a virtual machine running (to the knowledge of Lenovo at the moment). Some VMMs require that material help for virtualization to be activated, but it is a separate VT - d setting. In the same screen of the BIOS Setup, there is a parameter called virtualization technology, which is the most commonly used feature.
Here is a link to the Intel site describing Vt - d.

  • Problem with InfoPath via the Adobe pdf printer print

    Hello

It seems that in some cases to the printer Adobe pdf makes the text box a little narrower than THE InfoPath. So we have packaging Word and number of lines in the PDF can be only in the InfoPath form. But the output area is not resolved. So the end of the text may be corrupted:

I checked this approach, but it does not help:

    https://helpx.Adobe.com/Acrobat/KB/missing-or-garbled-text-printing.html

The same behavior is with different IEs.

Could you please help to solve this problem?

Must be a bug in InfoPath from the Adobe PDF printer simply reports the available printer box and print what they say in print, where it says print. Could be a problem with the printer driver change. Try to set default Adobe PDF before you start InfoPath, might work.

When I save photoshop documents on my Mac, they are unable to open Windows. This happens about 60% of the time. From your description, I would it is possible that the file is transferred to the PC without the extension of the file somehow.

Because Windows hides extensions file by default anyway, there is still some confusion.  I suggest you to check that the file is really named xxxxx.psd.  The file extension is needed under Windows.

Chris and judges are also experts.  Follow their advice as well.  Photoshop 13.0.0 had a problem where it could jumble of things during a backup, most often appear as garbled text layers.  I guess it's possible that could cause a file cannot be opened; I'm not sure.
