HP 250 G2 KEYBOARD FN KEYS NOT WORKING NOT

Hello, I recently bought a laptop HP 250 G2 without OS (freedos)

After you have installed windows 7 Home premium x 64 I went to the web page of the HP support and downloaded all the drivers, install them and everything seems to work without problems.

The only problem is that the HP support page does not all the drivers for the keyboard and the result is that all the FN buttons are non-functional.

In Device Manager the keyboard is displayed normally because Windows 7 automatically installs the drivers, but these aren't 100% compatible so that the FN keys would work.

Please, it is very important to be mean use only FN keys so that I can change the brightness, sound level and tun works / stop wifi.

Thanks in advance.

Hello:

Try the 450 Probook G1 hotkey driver:

  • Pavilion 15-b142dx keyboard some keys not working not

A friend gave me their 15-b142dx sleekbook Pavilion, apparently AFTER they spill some type of liquid inside. I was able to start the computer, however, there is still a problem with the keyboard.  When the keyboard is installed in the laptop, several of the keys do not work. However, when I go out (and hang with some plastics) it works fine.  I disconnected the ribbon cable and took little alcohol to clean the area. I was also able to run HP diagnostics on the startup, short and long versions and they come back ok.  In addition, I connected an external keyboard and it worked fine. I searched the forum for this type of question and do not see. If someone has had this problem, or I'm looking to replace the keyboard?

I am currently running windows 8.1. I don't get any error messages, but I noticed that HP does not have a litmus test of keyboard in his diagnoses.

    Hi there @MrKen99

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that some of your keys do not work, after that little liquid has decided to make an unwanted visit to the Board of Directors. I'm happy to help you with this.

In my sordid past that I've seen some really messed up keyboards, due to things like, coffee, cola, water, whatever. My most memorable was someone who gave me a computer that has been used in a kitchen and was close to a deep Fryer, and the keyboard was not only covered with oil and fat, but a generation of fuzzy dust throughout the keyboard upwards. In this case, I have recommended a replacement as the cost to clean it was more expensive than a new one.

In any case, it sounds as if you have already tried to clean it up, but if you do not jump off the keys to delinquency / inactive, the contacts could be "sticky". Make a note of the keys that are the problem and treat them individually. This document shows how to remove and replace the keys on a standard notebook keyboard.

If you don't have any success doing this then I would look at the keyboard, or by using an external keyboard replacement. If you choose a replacement you can check the service manual for it, and it will give a list the items supported.

  • Laptop keyboard - some keys not working not

    Hello.

I have an acer aspire 3750z (a few years) works on Windows 7. Unfortunately, some of the keys on the keyboard do not work and - oddly enough - when I connected an external keyboard in the same ones did not either use. The others are fine and I can use the keyboard to the screen when I load it up.

I've got either no update of windows due and none of acer. No other problem as far as I know and otherwise good performance.

    Hello

    1. what happens when you start the computer in safe mode?

    2. are you aware of changes to the computer before the show?

You can check if the device is recognized in Device Manager.

    To check:

    1. go to start and type Device Manager.
    2. Select Device Manager in the control panel list.

You can also check in The DirectX tool of diagnosis and see if the device works properly

    1. go to start > run
    2. type dxdiag in the race field.
    3. navigate to the tab entry.

Run the troubleshooter of material and check.

Run the hardware and devices Troubleshooter and check the results.

I also suggest you to update the chipset to most drivers late before you install the bluetooth driver.

You can also look for more updates through Windows updates and try to install.

    Hey Tang ,

Sometimes the update of Win10 have a strange habit of turn off monitor, so present the current number.

Please, press the Win + X keys, or simply right click on the Start button.

    Choose "device manager".

Take a look under "monitor." In similar cases, generic PnP monitor is disabled (down arrow).

Just do a right click and choose 'enable '.

Otherwise, it could be the problem with the graphics driver. Here should be HP for your PC support page:

  • Power goes off when the PC is turned on, it says "disabled keyboard", Vista does not START or reinstall.

My PC with Vista Home premium does not START because the keyboard does not work. It's a Dell Dimesion E521 PC with Vista.

This happened after a power failure; I get a black screen that says «disabled keyboard» The key board works and the USB ports have power to them.

The START menu was initially protected by Word, but I have the game ENTER the PASSWORD off the black screen by removing the battery inside the PC.

  • The internal keyboard BACKSPACE key does not work

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite and the BACKSPACE key does not work.

He will start work the rare opportunity, but then it just stops working again.
This happens on everything, including word and internet ect.

It has been like that for a few weeks now and I turned the laptop and turn off many times.
Is there a way to fix it myself or I send for repair?

    Please, * don't * tell me:
    Get an external keyboard
Try it turn on and off
Just highlight the words and use the delete key - it's annoying to have to do this all the time
Type carefully and do not make so many mistakes

    Thank you!

    > Please, don't tell me not to:
    > Get an external keyboard

And why shouldn't t someone recommends you to check the functionality using the external keyboard?

It s recommended to connect an external keyboard to verify how the BACKSPACE key would work using 2nd external keyboard. In case the back might work properly using USB keyboard, the question is very clear; in such cases its main shortcomings. The key cannot be replaced or changed or fixed. In this case, need to replace the entire keyboard!

In case the BACKSPACE key does not even using the external keyboard, then this would mean that the internal keyboard controller is faulty and in this case only the replacement motherboard would be useful.

But to be honest, I think that its simple keyboard failure and a replacement would solve this.

We have several Microsoft installed "Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000" and discovered one day we are experiencing problems with the function keys.  In our software provider, we are supposed to use SHIFT + F11 to access a specific function.  However this keyboard shortcut does not work.

I installed the latest drivers of "http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/d/natural-ergonomic-keyboard-4000" for Windows XP (32-bit) and Windows 7 (64-bit) and installed on the right machines.  Yet this problem persists and I can't find a way to deliver a new command outside provider software to test if it of a hardware problem of keyboard or not.

    Hello

I have a question on the keyboard of my 7537 15. b n. space downstairs left right and 2 do not work. I tried something like remove the battery and press and hold the Start button in 15 to 20 seconds, or remove the keyboard, but nothing has changed. Please give me some advice.

    Hi Acm06

    Nice day.

    Please write to us.

When the issue started? There was no incident of liquids lately?

Please try an external keyboard and see if all the keys are working.

You tried a power cycle and also re-sitting on the keyboard, there is nothing we can try now, except on an external keyboard.

If all keys work on an external, then it is a problem with the internal keyboard.

Please PM US system tag #.

I am a new user of SQL * Developer with a fresh install and I'll have a keyboard problem.
The BACKSPACE, delete, forward, backward, up, etc. keys do not work correctly while
I'm in the enter SQL statement window. Keys work well in all my other applications
and they work very well when I'm on the left (side objects) of SQL Developer. It is that when I
am in the SQL statement section enter that they do not work. Must something there be
defined or installation in an options to allow these keys to work?

In fact, I found a solution here in another thread.

    You must reset the accelerators.
Go to tools - preferences, select accelerators in the menu on the left and click on the Load Preset button at the bottom right. You will receive a pop up that will highlight default, loads of hit. This is the default.

It worked for me, it could be useful.

  • Fn keys not working not not on my Satellite P200D-127

Function keys not working not not on my Toshiba Satellite P200D-127

I try to find the drivers for the keyboard, but not luck :(

I'm trying to solve this problem since I bought this laptop.

Can someone help me with this problem?

P200D-127 is part of the PSPBLE series.
The Toshiba European page doesn't provide the drivers XP especially for this series.
But there are a few other P200 series and XP drivers were already released.

Then why you n t check the hotkey Utility released for other laptop P200 series.
Maybe it will work, if not, then there is nothing to do but wait until the drivers have been released.

  • Satellite P850 - FN keys not working not

I recently bought a PC Toshiba laptop p850/049 and reformatted it for windows 7 64 x (from windows 8). After installing all the software Toshiba etc. everything worked fine but recently I noticed that the special function keys have stopped working. They certainly worked after I reformatted the computer because I remember the first time annoyed that whenever I went to refresh a webpage (f5) it would pass the trackpad as I was not familiar with the new configuration.

I thought that the problem may be due to software "Logitech setpoint" I installed but I uninstalled since and the problem remains. Then I tried to uninstall and then reinstall the added value of packet and HW installation software and then check all card flash/keyboard settings.

Then I tried to check the BIOS setting with no luck. No matter what setting I put it to the special keys do not work. When I "special function keys" value and press function buttons, the keypad lights up but nothing happens, in this mode if I press fn + function keys, they work in their normal mode IE spell check or refresh or full screen, etc. When I have it value "normal f1-12 function keys" the same applies to this f5 refreshes successfully, but fn + f5 does nothing. I tried to play with the settings in accessibility and HW set up and flash cards and in the BIOS without effect (it seems that change the HW set up and bios configuration change from the other and vice versa).

It seems no matter what I set it on the keyboard seems to be impossible to access the option special function keys. I recently got sp1 under win 7 x 64, this could be a part of the problem? I'm not entirely sure when keys doesn't work but I don't know they worked after reformatting to windows 7.

    any help would be appreciated

    Hello

Did you restart the utility of Flash Cards, which can be found under:

In addition, you must also install the utility Support Flash Cards next to the VAP (value added package)

This utility can be found here:

  • Up and down arrow keys not working not

I got the HP Pavilion g6t - 1B 00 CTO Notebook PC now for a year or two. I have been having some problems with internet connectivity and put my computer to "sleep".

However, a few days ago my keyboard randomly started acting strangely. When I would try to type some numbers of the letter /, they would come out differently.

    E.g. by pressing the space bar arise "." ' / M ' instead

I tried to restart my computer several times and installed an update of the BiOS that fixed all my issues except for my up and arrow keys. From now on, they have no function; I can't scroll with them and they don't seem to take the role of another key. I tried to use the keys on different programs. The key to using scroll works, but I still can't use the keys and.

Is there anyway to get the top and down arrow keys to work again?

    Larasoft,

You can do it yourself; It is not too terrible a task to accomplish.

Here is the Service Manual for your computer and page 50 are the instructions to remove the keyboard.  To actually get the keyboard itself you can contact HP support at 1-800-474-6836 if you reside in the United States or to the Canada or click on this link and select your location, and the number is provided for you.

Now if you feel comfortable, the HP support service can provide you with a quote to get the keyboard replaced directly through them so that the option is still possible.
