HP 250 G3 bios windows key does not

Hello.

My friend laptop hdd fail so I replaced it, the laptop come with windows 8.1 he upgraded to 10. After replacing the hard drive, I tried to install windows 8.1 but it ask me for a product key witch is embeded in the bios. I have install the os with a generic key and a locator of keys to get the key, but it does not work the key is not valid.

product no. BH5 # J0X98EA

It depends on the security policy for different companies. Another company have a security measure different they take and apply.

HARD drive is one component that the key to export is tagged in and replacement needs to be changed the programming. I don't know that an authorized service center will be able to help out you.

My hard drive died in my Inspiron 660. I ordered a new hard drive and a recovery Dell USB key. A recovery key for Windows 8 pro based on my recommended by Dell service tag. I installed the new drive and used the recovery key to install Windows 8 pro. I then used a third-party tool to get the product key from the BIOS. The product key does not work. I wonder if the product key on the BIOS isn't for Windows 8, Windows 8 pro. If so, the wrong recovery key recommended by Dell.

  • Windows key does not work (not valid)

I have an old installation of Windows XP Professional I need to recharge.  I have a borrowed the CD for Windows XP Professional with SP3 slipstreamed into it.  I got the Windows key, I used on the computer, and it corresponds to the original key that I recorded a long time ago.

When I reload Windows, it indicates that the key is not valid, even if it is the same key that originally came with the computer.  The original disks are long gone, reloading those is not an option.

How can I reload Windows XP using my valid (purchased) license from another CD?

As I said - if there is a sticker on the computer and the operating system installed. OEM.

  • 'Windows key' does not not inside ubuntu VM

I am running VMWare in Windows 7, and I have ubuntu 10.04, installed inside vmware. When I try to set my "Windows" key the "Display the menu of the main panel" function within the system-> Preferences-> keyboard shortcuts, it is not detect the key. I tried different types of keyboard setups in system-> Preferences-> keyboard, but nothing seems to make any difference.

Is there a solution to this problem? Just a minor annoyance, but it would make the experience much better for me.

    Thanks in advance,

    Dan

The question must be something of how VMWare communicates with the guest OS

Since the key actually works in the host operating system and the windows (which probably has key

Since 15 years..) Works for people using ubuntu as native operating system.

    1. your operating system (Windows) of the host and guest (Linux) work completely different when it comes to presses

    2. I'm using Linux as a host and I'm only able to assign the Windows key (no matter if it's in the home or in one of Linux guests) if I do not use as a modifier

  • my windows key does not work

Hi I just bought a windows 7 Professional edition, and when I type in the product key, it says that I entered the product key bad what I have to do

Skip entering your product key Windows 7 and complete the installation.

When you reach the desktop, click Start, right-click on computer

    Click on properties

Scroll down to the Windows Activation

Click the link x days before activation.

Click on the link that says: "show me other ways to activate.

    Enter the product key

    Click next

Select the Activation of the phone

Click Next when you enter your key page

    Select your country

Click Next, call the number listed

Be sure to explain your situation to the Appeals Officer.

Provide the installation generated when ID requested by the call agent

They give a confirmation ID in return, enter it

Click next to complete the activation.

However, the requirements for the media upgrade is that you have an operating system already eligible such as Windows XP or Vista installed to use it. Since the Windows 7 end user license agreement.

15 UPDATES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. After the upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software that you upgraded. After upgrade, you can no longer use the software that you upgraded.

So, if you are always denied, you will just have to reinstall Windows XP or Vista and let it do the verification of eligibility.

  • Meeting place for Dell Pro 8 Windows 'Physical' key does not

Not really sure what's happening. Started using my Tablet earlier and the physical Windows key does not respond when I press it.  I had the time of the OS by using the Windows key on the menu of charms, but when you hold the camera in landscape mode I was already accustomed to hitting the physical key.

Due to a recent medical procedure, I got to the House and I just stopped. The 14 return policy. Finally the mines is a 64 GB (which are hard to find) so I'll be without one for long.

The only big change of the system in the last 24 hours has been updated the. BIOS A03 and 2 soundcards updates.

Technical solutions or advice will be greatly appreciated. I want to repair RMA possesses only a LAST resort.

OK, so I found the root cause of that I want to share. After spending my day to recharge this thing and everything works very well it happened again. This time I was aware of all my changes and was quickly able to go back and get fid of the problem. So for the node I'll call it a ' solution '.

I am going to be angry with the accidental double taps. After reading a ton of information about tabletpcreview.com on this issue a gentleman he proposed a solution to disable this feature. Runs well you been out:

Go to PC settings in the menu of charms, select ease of access, and the keyboard, you will find a setting called 'Keys filter' where the option is DISABLED by default. Turning IT will ignore brief repeated keystrokes. Well the minute I turned it on my physical key of Windows has stopped working. When I would turn it off, voala physical touch Windows started working again. I've repeated several times and can reproduce the problem.

So long story short until this software bug fix to avoid using this feature.

Hope this helps someone with this unique special cases.
