HP 250 G4: Recovery Window10 needs product key?

Hello world

I have a HP 250 G4 with pre-installed Windows 10.

On this pc I need to have Linux as well, so I have released the space and created a partition using disk management in Windows and Linux (Fedora) installed on the free partition.

Now the pc will only start on Linux, but I can see and access the Windows disc, so it's still there.

The Windows Boot Manager gives the following error:

File: \EFI\Microsoft\Boot\BCD
Status: 0xc000000f
Info: Boot your pc configuration data is missing or contains errors.

To resolve the error, he suggested to insert the installation disk, I did not.

I download the ISO image of www.microsoft.com/it-it/software-download/windows10ISO

Should I have the product key for my windows? If so, how can I get it?

Thanks for the tips

The product key is encoded in BIOS.

You can use a generic installation if necessary key. Once you are able to start Windows again and go online, the operating system will activate itself, since the laptop already has a digital entitlement on the Microsoft activation servers.

You can get the keys to generic installation of the following web document. http://winaero.com/blog/generic-key-to-install-Windows-10-RTM/

Did you create a recovery usb Windows key until you are any changes to the partition?

I'm curious to know the reason why you did not appear using VMWare to run a virtual Linux operating system instead of physically install the operating system.

    Fear the idea is that you test the software and if you make a purchase. Photoshop is not freeware. If someone were to give you a product key that would be software piracy. It would also be a very stupid thing to do because if you put CS6 on more than one machine their copy may stop working. If you don't handle Photoshop take a glance to GIMP running on Linux, OSX and Windows

  • Reinstallation of Windows 8 using a recovery disc and need product key

    Recently my computer crashed and needs to be reinstalled using a disc of recovery of Windows 8.

    After selecting my country and spoken language, in the next screen, he invites me to enter a product key, which I can't access anything as it is already encrypted in the software.

    I can not forward a more unless I can access the product key.

    Really need help here

    Hello Lauren,

    Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community Forums.

    If your computer came pre-installed with Windows 8, then using the recovery disk don't ask for the product key. The product key of Windows 8 on new machines is now integrated into the motherboard. It uses the Secure Boot technology.

    If the user has to reinstall the operating system on a computer with Windows 8, the installation process automatically captures key software product of the motherboard BIOS without input from the user. If you have an OEM computer that is preinstalled with Windows 8, then you must contact the manufacturer of the computer that the computer broke down recently so that they can help you.

    If your computer came pre-installed with Windows 7, then you must install Windows 7 first and then upgrade to Windows 8.

    Response with the State of the question and we will be happy to offer you our help.

    Hello Sir I need a product key for my laptop as described above

    Not sure how much they will be. The last time I ordered Windows 7 recovery discs, they were a little more than $20. I'm not too sure if they are still available. Contact HP support to request.

    If you live in the United States / CA, coordinated HP here.

    order a recovery for Windows 8 1 disc and do not have a product key key reinstall

    Hello

    You may need to explain this issue a little more away.

    If you ordered the HP recovery discs, they will be for the version initially supplied with your laptop - Windows 8 - and activation should be automatic.  You then have to do the free update to 8.1 again.

    If you have already ordered media from another source, it should also provide you with a product key.

  • Recovery discs and product keys?

    My laptop came with no recovery disc and began to play up if I want to erase everything and leave. The disks of backup that have been made are only records do not and do not let me recover the system. Can I use a disc of recovery from another PC, but enter the product key for the laptop? My two machines running Vista Home premium. The disc of recovery for a Dell desk top and my laptop is a Sony. Is it still possible to interchange the recovery discs? I have to download different drivers for the laptop before you erase the hard drive? Any other advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time. Gary.

    Hello

    Sorry, but you cannot use a recovery disk on a Sony Dell.

    This applies to all of the different brands.

    And if you have problems with the backup disks you made, read this information toreinstall Vista:

    There are several methods to reinstall Vista.

    There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

    You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

    They should do this for a small fee.

    To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

    You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

    How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/bootorderchange.htm

    "How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246

    And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

    The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

    Ask them to the proper key sequence.

    Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

    If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

    You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

    Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

    And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

    Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

    "How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

    And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

    And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

    Vista recovery media obtain and/or use the Partition Recovery Vista on your computer to the factory settings .

    There is no Vista free download legal available.

    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
    See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
    Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
    Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Also ask them if it is possible to do the recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

    They will tell you how to do this.

    Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, Acer, recovery disk/s etc).
    A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
    The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.
    There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
    If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
  • Replace the new Windows8 laptop with Windows7 professional - no disks, but have recovery discs and product key
    I have recently fried my laptop 3 year old who has Windows 7 top (my husband he drowned in coffee!).  I bought a new Toshiba laptop and it came with Windows 8.  I already have a laptop with Windows 8.1 so would like to change the more recent Windows 7.  I have the laptop recovery disks drowned and the product key for Windows 7 Professional upgrade.  How can I change to Windows 7 Professional?  I think I need to totally erase Windows 8 first, but I don't know how to do it.
  • reinstalled win7 Home premium, need product key
    Hello, as in the title, I have reinstalled my laptop with win7 home prem who which was preinstalled when you bought the computer and as you know with a new installation, ask your product key.
    Well, many people probably have the same problem as me, the sticker of windows security on computer background with the product key to this topic has disappeared.
    the copy of windows 7 Home premium that I use is a bootleg copy that I download from some torrent sites, I know that it's ok because I used it to reinstall the other computers, and then using the product keys for computers.
    as far as I know or have been told by a tech guy that fixs for a large company named computers is that the product key is engraved somewhere on motherboards memory and can be retrieved.
    does any 1 know how to retrieve the product key of this way of the motherboard.
    any help or advice would be welcome, thank you.
    Hello
    Your product key is not engraved on the memory of the motherboard in Windows 7
    You need the COA sticker with the product key, but it's faded away.
    Your choice is now limited in what you can do without having to buy a new product/license key.
    Because Windows 7 is pre-installed:
    You can contact the manufacturer of your laptop and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.
    They should do this for a small fee.
    The installation of the "pirated" copy process may have ruined this option
    If you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery on the hard drive Partition to reinstall Windows 7 back to the way in which you bought your computer.
    The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)
    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.
    Ask them to the proper key sequence.
    The methods above resettlement generally do not require allows you to provide a product key during Installation, the recovery process uses the Installation product key factory to activate automatically during the resettlement process.
    Hello
    I put t understand.
    Toshiba Recovery disk is already activated and there is no option to enter the serial key.
    If you use the recovery disk Toshiba that will ask you not to enter keys!
    The serial at the bottom of the device key belongs to the Toshiba installed the Windows operating system and cannot be used with other versions of Windows.
    If the Windows software came on the old 'broken' PC then he also died.  It would have been an OEM version and is always linked to the first computer on which it is installed.  You will need a new operating system for the new computer.
    If it's a version of Windows (bought and have a drive retail and product key) then you will need to use telephone activation.
  • Upgrade Vista to Windows 7, need product key
    I have a computer that was originally purchased with Windows Vista on it. I am now anting upgraded to Windows 7 and have a question before doing so. I bought a disc to upgrade to 7 through my University and the disk, it says that you need a product key. When the computer was purchased, Vista is already installed and we never received a product key or disc. I read a few places when the OS is installed at the factory, they use a special key that they integrated into the BIOS of the motherboard. Will I need to somehow extract this product key or can I just proceed with the upgrade? Thank you
    You would need a Windows 7 key to install the upgrade, not a Windows Vista key.  The Windows 7 disc you have is useless without the key to Windows 7. It looks like you bought a copy of the education of MSDNAA and your college should have made you a key when you bought it.
