The screen goes black, but the light switch and fan will continue until I have manually press the power button down until a power full off.   My laptop recently has problems of severe performance as soon as I plug it into the charger. Everything runs slowly, even just open a website takes an age, windows navigation menus is slowly, basically, every action you perform runs on a 10th of normal speed.

  Looks like you have the same problem I had. I tried tons of stuff to fix the problem but nothing did the trick.

  But then, I decided to buy a new AC adapter and check if it was the problem.

  AND IT SOLVED EVERYTHING.

  I don't pretend to know that your computer has the same problem as mine, but for me, a brand new $ 80 real laptopparts.ca AC adaptor has been around. Laptop still works like a charm on this adapter. I made sure to buy a better one than the one that came with my laptop. I used to have a 90W, now I have a 135W, compatible with my laptop model.
