  my printer isn't trasnporting a paper more and it sounds horrible. I'm ready to buy a new HP printer. However, I have a lot of printer cartridges 564 (always good) and I would like to buy a printer in which I can use these cartridges. What HP printers use these cartridges?

  No, other is narrower, it does not. There are plenty around, and you can use XL cartridges (they are physically the same size, only more inks).

  I found these unopened cartridges, purchased at Costco, in my drawer. the original plastic had never been broken. However, it indicates an expiry date of July 2012.

  This link here is for this type of ink cartridge, if you scroll down you can select 'Compatible printers', and this will give you a list of printers that allows the ink.  Expiry of the ink goes, and if you can sell them or not. Some printers can replace the ink expiration, some cannot replace this message.  Here is a link that addresses the end of ink, this is it, and what printers can substitute this message.   There is a question to keep in mind: HP has changed the design of the 564 cartridges a few years ago.  The new cartridges will work in older printers but not vice versa.  If your cartridges have a date of 'end of warranty' (found on the lower back right side of the package) before September 2012, they are the old cartridges.

  DUH!   A senior moment here... I pulled out the yellow ink cartridge replaced by another new... at that moment, I realized the orange tab 'pull' was still attached.   Once I got his shot and re - insert the cartridge, it was fixed!

  Yesterday, I bought a photosmart HP 364 black ink for black ink cartridge slot "bowtie" and buy ink HP 364 black for the Pentagon slot. However, im trying to documents printer containing the text in black only and pages appear blank?

  I tried to use HP scan doctor, but said everything is working properly.

  I really don't know what could be the problem.

  OK, so if it's out of warranty one thing you can try is soaking from head of printing, such as recommended by Bob...

  (1) get a pan and put 1/2 "of very hot (not boiling) water in the bottom.
  (2) remove all ink cartridges, then remove the print head Assembly.
  (3) gently put the printhead nozzles down in water and soak for 5 minutes.
  (4) remove the print head and gently dry the electrical contacts.
  (5) replace the print head in the printer and then reinstall the ink cartridges.

  What seems to be the issue. His are more in there or something like that? If so, check the icon on top of the cartridge, it should be a Hexagon, if you want to mount a "bow tie" it does not, since it is a photocartridge that is not supported by your printer.

  My printer broke and I just replaced by another who uses the same ink cartridges.  The cartridges were fairly new, so I tried to install the new printer but the printer insisted to me using "supplied" cartridges  Now that everything is set up, should I replace the cartridges supplied by my old cartridges that have ink?  Or should I keep them?
