HP 5550 starts printing then feeds on blank paper

My HP Laser Jet 5550 worked fine with XP for a year. Now when I try to print it feeds just a white pice of paper.

I tried on two other PC's and it works fine.

HP software it will be priny a test page, but every thing IE pictures, word etc documents he spits right on a blank page.

I tried to UN install it remove drivers and printer then reinstal and nothing works.

Found a thread which solved my problem. Is is turned out to be setting DEP, Data Execution Prevention windows has been changed.

http://h30434.www3.HP.com/PSG/board/message?board.ID=software & message.ID = 583 & query.ID = 73476 #M583

Turns out that what is called Data Execution Prevention setting has been changed.  Not sure how this has changed, perhaps on a recent update from MS, not sure.  In any case, go to control panel-> system-> advanced-> Performance, then select the setting button. In Performance Options, select Data Execution Prevention, and then select the radio button top of page "enable DEP for window essential programs and services only."

  • Designjet 510: Designjet 510 starts printing, then everything stops and "blocks" no error messages...

My normally reliable Designjet 510 suddenly started having problems printing: it starts to print my drawings, no problem, but it suddenly stops and just print head 'crashes' and no longer print.  He sometimes starts from the beginning of printing, he sometimes almost at the end of the drawing before it stops, but he can't seem to finish the print job.  The printer does not display an error message, it still shows that it is printing, but no matter how long I leave, it will not at the end of a drawing.   I'm on Microsoft Windows 10 - there was a hiccup when I upgraded Windows, but after reinstalling the printer driver, it seems to work again no problem.  I'm tearing my hair out (and lose large amounts of paper) trying to get anything to print!  Pointers would be welcome.

    Thank you.

P.S. I posted this problem previously, then thought I had sorted by adjusting the settings of the printer, but she went back, and I am no closer to knowing why!

  • My printer epson stylus cx7800 blank paper prints. Cartridges are full

It is as if printing correctly, however the documents come out in white! cartridges are full and everythings shows it should work.

My guess would be that you need to clean the heads.

  • Network HP printer feeds a blank page between every printed page

My HP network printer feeds a blank page between every page printed when I print from my laptop running Vista.  Printer feeds not the white pages from another laptop under XP.

So I would appreciate any suggestions.  Thank you and happy new year.

Thanks, but it was one of the first things I did.  In fact, what worked was to go to the printers, made folder right click and open as administrator, open the properties, open Advanced options, then open "new driver".  You can search for "Hewlett Packard" (NOT use the abbreviation HP) and download the nearest driver for my printer.  The printer now prints only what I asked with no inbetween fed additional sheets each printed page.  Yay!  Finally.

I spent hours on the Internet, knowledge of HP basic research on the Microsoft Knowledge base.  The answer was mentioned in the update from HP for my printer, of all things!  When I read one of the updates was 'PC Printer Communication issue.'  Seemed to be yet another expression to search for an answer, but it was worth One More Try.  It worked.  http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/printer-all-in-one-software-and/BD-p/software  It is under the HP Support Forum.  So, it OF here!

  • Printer feeds a blank sheet with each printed page only with HP Envy and Windows 8

My HP ENVY Phoenix h9 - 1440t PC running Win 8 causes my HP Photosmart C7280 AIO feed a blank sheet before printing each page.  The printer is connected wireless to the router and works normally when printing to my HP dv9000 equipped of VISTA.  Is this a problem of victory 8?  How should I do?

    Hi Gnerd5

I understand that the computer with win8 feeds a blank page before printing the Photosmart c7280.

You go to the website www.hp.com and download drivers for win8?

The software may not be installed correctly.

I would recommend that you download the drivers from the url I've provided, simply select the appropriate operating system and if it is 32 bit or 64 bit and select the driver-product installation software.

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?product=3204785&LC=en&cc=us&DLC=en&lang=en&cc=us

or you can run the installation of printer HP Assistant for windows from the link below.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c02691615

To determine if this is 32-bit or 64-bit click on the url.

    Hello

Thanks for the post.  With it, we can have several questions the cause.  Type/paper weight, not enough paper in the tray, rollers which don't sting power or the remains of a previous paper jam.  I've included a pasted below document that can help with this and help refine the root cause.  Good luck!

  • I have Mozilla Ffox on a Dell Vostro Desktop computer, connected to a HP-Officejet 6500. The printer prints internal drive, but don't print Web sites. The printer ejects only a single sheet of blank paper.

The version of Firefox 4.0.1 and Windows 7 operating system are
    correctly identified below.
Still, my printer prints not websites, including Yahoo mail. The printer seems to respond to Web sites, but only ejects a single sheet of blank paper when printing is initialized.

Just to be sure, everything is covered:

    1. Reset you all the preferences of print.printer , as indicated in brackets in step 2, who were in "BOLD", not only print.print_printer preference?
    2. You you exit Firefox (Firefox button > exit OR file > exit, if you use the Menu bar), and then wait a few seconds and restart Firefox before testing the change according to step 4?
    3. I have a HP 6200 series. Don't forget, if yours is a multifunction printer that you have NOT enabled the fax (i.e., "HP Officejet 6200 series" NOT 'HP Officejet 6200 series fax') in the name field of the printer on the screenshot (CTRL + P).

  • HP Laserjet 1025nw printers takes almost 6-7 seconds before its starts printing.

Whenever I try to start printing a page, the printer takes a long time to print. I thought that the laserjet printers are the fastest online for excellent color prints. But the time it takes to print is increased by his initial work. What is the calibration that takes time? It calibrates whenever I print. Its ok for understand that it calibrates the cartridges on the first page. But I do not understand that if I take more copies of a single page (colored), let's say 20 copies, it calibrates for each page. I don't know how is it print speed is 4ppm. Can someone help me to solve the excessive issue of "calibration".

    Thank you

    Best regards

    Abdul Samad

    Hello, once again, Abdul.

I saw his answers to my questions. I hope that means that you're enjoying the labor day weekend. I'll go ahead and provide the following information in any case.

The following is based on my assumption that the answers to my previous questions were: Yes, the quality of printing of pages you print on the CP1025nw is good. and Yes, the printer prints 4 pages per minute (ppm).

The sounds you hear and the time it takes to print the document likely color to reflect the normal operations of this printer.

The print speed of this printer is rated at 17 ppm for black and 4ppm for color. The reason why the printing speed is much slower in color, it is that the print to the printer mechanism is a design of carousel, which means the cartridges for all four colors - black, magenta, cyan and yellow - are housed in a carousel. When printing in color, the printer rotates the carousel to give access for each Imaging drum cartridge so that the color can be provided on the page. The printer then cleans the drum and turn the carousel to the next color, where the process is repeated.

So the noises you hear are the drum is cleaned, the carousel is turning to the next color, the color being scheduled, then the process repeats.

Again, this is normal operation for this printer.

If the print quality of the page is not good or the printer prints at speed lower than 4 ppm, please let me know. You should maybe contact the HP Support or send in your printer for the service.

I hope this information helps, Abdul. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do for you.

  • Cannot start "Printer Assistant" Officejet Pro 8600

The Printer Wizard and my 8600 worked well for over a year.  Now, I can't start "printer Assistant".  This may have been triggered by an 8.1 Win update.  Others on the Discussion Board have said to uninstall all programs, HP, reboot and then download the package "full of features" on the HP site.

Everything I did.  Installation works very well.  Print, fax and scan all work very well during a test.  A shortcut has been installed on the desktop.  But I can't start the "printer Assistant", either in the upper part of the counter, the Start button, the program file.

I used the Trouble Shooter to try to find the problem.  Since the troubleshooting I could open "Scan HP - HP Officejet Pro 8600".  From there, I could launch a successful analysis.  But the only way to this page that I found through the Trouble Shooter.

The Printer Wizard is loaded on my computer: worm 28.0.1315.0 file; 5.16 MB. Last updated on 17/10/12.

    You have any ideas?

    Hi Sticks10,

Thank you for your reply, I appreciate the clarification. I still think that the patch is a good idea to try.

If it still does not respond, try the following in the following order:

    1. Uninstall the software. Uninstalling the printer software.
    2. Clean boot the computer. How to perform a boot in Windows.
    3. Disable all antivirus programs. Turn Windows Defender on or off. (This works in Windows 8.1).
    4. Disable the firewall. Turn Windows Firewall on or off. (This works in Windows 8.1).
    5. Create a new user account. Create a user account.
    6. Re-install the software using the printer HP install wizard for Windows.

Hope this works for you and have a great day!

  • HP DJ 2540 depth of printer with feeder and tray closed print

    Hi hp printer forum people.

just this simple question:... not interested in the "card listed size as it lists with the extended paper tray. then... Please answer:

depth of the printer with feeder and closed printed paper tray

    t.y,

    Apollos

    t kid "A".

.the their 'sites' with sales of "products"... (in this case amazon) of the listed dimensions...

but omitting the DRC) and not only that, but put these specifications without order paticuliar, so for this product amazon has the liseted of size 12 "first of all, in contrast to the"HP"revealin site' it second. .. .see what I mean? so,... You can look at the pictures and size between the width and depth dimensions are usually apparent. not in this case. Thus, the clarification of the dimension has solved this for me. "BRAVO", of course.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus slow to start printing

The time of the first page is 39 seconds.  This time is usually listed as approximately from 7 to 14 seconds (not HP more which seems to have deleted it on their site!).  It's not a software or computer problem (even of computers different and various documents), the printer accepts the job immediately, and then starts whirrring and complain and think and a break of 40 seconds before eventaully starts printing.  I have re-installed software, reset the printer all to no effect.

In addition, as reported by many others, he receives a paper jam when it comes out of standby, when there is no paper jam. Open and close the drawer and it works usually - but rehearsals then that on the next clock cycle.  HP?

Yes, solved within HP repair shop.  They said there was a piece of paper stuck to the right behind the printer heads, forcing out of alignment and it seems that the printer has tried to change the route.  Fortunately subsequently he completely stopped printing so I took for repairs, which solved all the problems I had.

  • Start printer problem. HP Deskjet 2050 all-in-One J510 series. Part No. CH350A

Whenever I first turn on printer it prints a page immediately and said that I need to scan the page and to realign it.  In addition, the colors are a little faded looking.

    Hey RedDave,

If the unit is every time you start printing, an alignment to the top page, the device fails to align.  If the unit fails to align, then it will try to do it on the next start up.  Do you have a message that failed the alignment on the computer screen?

I recommend following the steps described in the document following the link to resolve this condition in your Deskjet 2050 J510 series all-in-One.

'Impossible alignment' Error Message is displayed on the computer

Let me know how it goes,

  • Why my 11 x 17 spread starts print 6 "on the page? Help!

I try to print a book using InDesign layout. I put my paper 11 x 17. The printer appears as it is to print then pulls the page in 6 inches and starts printing of 6 inches in the image. I tried to print something on paper 11 x 17 in Photoshop and it does not. In the print settings, I have the driver-defined paper size. Someone PLEAE can help me?

Print drivers can be funny, so I'll repeat the question: can you choose tabloid or book instead?

Are you on Windows or Mac? If you enter the driver, what size of page is listed?

  • The Apple Mobile Device Service service on Local computer started and then stopped.

My iDevice doesn't connect to iTunes, I think its a result of the apple mobile device service. The restart option doesn't come up, it just says  "start the service" and when I click that an error comes up which says "The Apple Mobile Device Service service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if not in use by other services or programs". (I've already got a post with this information on I just wanted to make it more clear)

If your iOS device does not appear in iTunes, try the following:

    1. Open Control Panel > Device Manager
    2. Plug in your device
    3. Locate Bus USB Controllers > Apple Mobile Device USB Driver.
It is also possible that the device may appear under imaging devices, portable devices or other devices or as a device USB of MTB.
    4. Right-click and select software update of the driver...
    5. Click Browse my computer for driver software
    6. Go to C:\Program Files\Common Apple Mobile Device Support\Drivers or
      C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers
    7. Click on let me pick from a list of drivers for devices on my computer
    8. Click on Apple Mobile Device USB Driver
    9. Click Next, then close and exit the Device Manager

To step 3 above, open the Device Manager. Expand one of the articles that are listed.

    • USB Bus controllers
    • Imaging devices
    • Portable devices
    • Other devices

Plug in the appliance. You should hear the telltale Windows sound device connection and a Division must acquire a new entry. This should be your device. It cannot be labelled properly at this point. If you do not hear a suspicious noise cable damaged.

Or try If iTunes does not your iPad, iPhone or iPod - Apple Support

If not try a complete tear down and rebuild iTunes in accordance with the resolution of the problems with iTunes for Windows updates.

Or try to go back to the last version of iTunes that has worked for you. See the programs installation of iTunes to download links. If you roll back to 12.3.3.17 to 12.3.2.35, for example, then you will also need restore the database in the manner described in the empty/corrupted after upgrade/crash iTunes library. The tip makes suggestions to reintroduce recent purchases, so at worst, you lose a few meters or a newly created playlist.
