HP 6810us laptop does not start. Hard reset does not

Hi people,

Need your help. My HP dv6810us notebook is not initialized. I tried the hard reset as suggested in these forums, but his does not work. Would appreciate if you can let me know of other options.

Its no more warranty and HP directed me on these forums. My OS is windows vista.  I can go well in the system implementation (F10).

I would like to know what are my next steps? Start the laptop?.

Thank you

Milind

  • Dell XPS 12 - will not start / turns on after hard reset

Last night I was with my XPS w12 in laptop mode on battery and he finally went down to 7% of the capacity.  At this point, it turns off the display and I moved my office to connect the power adapter (thinking it would simply turn the display when there was enough power...  The screen never came back (I waited 15-20 minutes), but the battery has been recharged.  At that time, I tried a hard reset by holding the power button for 5 to 10 seconds.

When I tried to turn it on, nothing happened.  No backlit keyboard, no screen, just the fan.  The light never came the switch either. So I tried an another hard reset with the same results.  I even tried to turn it on with the "D" button held down for on board diagnostics and got nothing more than the start of the fan.

I thought it might be an overheating problem, so I let it set for an hour and tried again - none other than the fan. It seems that the laptop does not pass the initial diagnosis and not even up to the point where the bios starts to load.

I really thought that my cell phone was dead and ready for use.  I took it in the office the next day so I could call Dell Support Pro. Just for fun, I plugged with the AC adapter and tried to turn it on - viola!  It started working again.

I had this problem once before, and he began to work after 2-3 resets hard. I was working on a proposal when the laptop went down. I tried reset hard over a period of 4 hours with no result. It baffles me why it start OK the next day morning.

I was wondering if anyone else has had the same problem.  I am running the A07 BIOS (the most common) and my 12 XPS is configured with 8 GB of memory and 256 GB SSD with an i7 and Intel wireless card.

Any suggestions on this diagnosis? The hardest part is then if fails, the failure is total - you are unable to diagnosis. When she comes back, all right, and there is than any event in the event log that relate to the failure.

OK - I narrowed down it to the following:

When the laptop is "asleep", it will finally in power mode. It seems that connect a power adapter for the laptop at this point will enter a State of confusion, when the button is pressed, the laptop fan turns on but no light on the power button or on the keyboard – the screen remains blank.  Laptop fan works (it is very quiet - he must hold the phone to your ear to hear it).

I don't know if the cause is a low battery or if the issue is simply with the State of the CPU to power down.  All I know is that when it happens, if I disconnect the power adapter and press and hold the power button until the fan of the laptop turns off, the hard reset allows him to come back normally.  If you leave the adapter attached, it will charge the battery but will not allow the laptop start.

I said this experiment several times with the same result every time. I'm guessing that there is a bug in the BIOS that defines an error state that are resolved with the associated power Board. Do the hard reset without the adapter seems reliable to fix the problem.

My laptop does not start, how can he?

    Hey,.

First, a good thing to try is a hard reset of the computer.  The steps are different depending on whether your battery is removable or not.  See http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01684768 for steps and videos covering this first easy step.

  • Dv6 6155TX: laptop does not start. Black screen. LED, work of fan key, function

Hi, my laptop is not starting, not even the BIOS or the manufacturer logo. I checked the RAM, tried to reset the CMOS battery, removed the HARD drive. At first, it worked for 2 - 3 times, but after 5-6 hours when I turned it on, it does not. I don't think that this is a display problem because windows key + B produces no beep. CPU fan works fine. Help, please.

Hi, the problem was the corruption of the BIOS because of power failure. I have reset the BIOS of the USB.

    Thanks for you answers.

  • Laptop does not start > how to delete data

    Separated from this thread.

How can you get your data off when the laptop does not start again? "catch fire or explode"... in a suitcase on a train or plane? This sounds like a product ready for the market yet? More I explore this question of "overheating" in the line it worse it seems: my machine was like a hot plate not a laptop when it has been completely unfolded in a cool room: about right to mention briefly without getting hurt. (And my data is still inside of her, if it is not melted...)

Well, unlike a laptop where you can remove the hard drive, these tablets are pretty well fixed and specifically your case, (it will not explode or catch fire) is to locate the device next to an air conditioner or a blowing unit to blow fresh air into the vents.

At this point, press on and hold the volume button upwards and at the same time, press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds, then release it.

If you can get it to feed and at least screen troubleshooting, see if you can get the machine to run in safe mode.

If you can get to the desktop, you can down all your data by opening the file manager, click on 'This computer' and open the 'users' folder, go to your account name folder and copy all the files on a USB key.

It is the only way to get your data out of these tablets.  You can't have the SSD card to remove it to try to force the machine to run at least once.

Now, I think that your machine is still active, just overheating.  Get off in any case data.

A RESET and reinstall updates are the only thing you can do.  I have the i3 model myself and am on it now and no problems with it.  Some games will heat, but never to the point that everyone is a report.

If all fails, send the replacement machine.

With the new update, I can't hard reset my iPhone. Siri does not work all the time. Sometimes when I reset hard my phone unlocks even if I'm not using my footprint.

    You could try these:

    1. Restart: press start/stop button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and after it stops, press on On / Off button until the Apple logo appears.
    2. Reset: press the home and On / Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10-15 seconds).
    3. Restoration: connect your iPhone to iTunes on your computer, backup, and then select factory restore

There was a huge load of dust, so I cleaned it, put new thermal paste...

Now computer laptop does not start loading Windows.
It checks only the CD, HARD disk, and that's it.
Screen is blank, ON the indicator led is on.
Two fans periodically start to turn (when they stop radiator heat - so the processor works)

Your hard drive is failing, fast (these things last forever). You need to replace as soon as POSSIBLE. If you have important data on what cannot be replaced I suggest you plug it into another computer as an external drive and pulling all the data you need it off.

If you do not have the possibility to connect the drive directly on another PC, you can download a live Linux CD/USB.

Step 1: Acquire a blank CD or USB. If you use a USB port, format it in FAT32.

Step 2: Insert your chosen in your PC Backup media.

    Step 3: Download Unetbootin.

Step 4: Select a distribution in the drop-down list. Just about anything will work, but for your application, I would recommend "Puppy Linux".

    Step 5: Select your media.

Step 6: Once Unetbootin is complete, insert your media in the PC is installed on the corrupted hard drive.

Step 7: Boot puppy. (You may need to select your Flash DRIVE or a CD in your BIOS)

Step 8: The use of the included file manager, mount the hard drive and browse for the files you need. You can then save these on another DRIVE or a CD drive, or the internet.

I have the HP pavilion computer laptop windows 7 and I broke the screen about a year, I can't see the start menus. I have been using an external monitor and it has always worked well, but now I can't see how to fix my computer to boot.  I did a hard boot but nothing happened, and with a broken screen, I can't see any of my options on how to fix it.  It does not start.  Looks like it is, but because I don't see the menu F8 or Boot, I can't call themselves that the screen can be done.  Help, please.

I read your post on the issue with the laptop won't start does not and wanted to help you!  I understand that the screen is damaged and you are using the external monitor to view the screen.  However, now that the laptop does not start, you can see is more of the external screen to see what is happening.

From my understanding, you should not be able to see an image on the external monitor, until you start the operating system.  You can try to perform a system restore by using this document:

  • HP LaserJet Pro P1606dn: Fatal error Laserjet p1606dn - hard reset does not help

I powered on my printer this morning and having to "calibrate" - type sounds for about two minutes, the Attention, ready, and go lights on (solid, no blinking). The printer prints everything I have send to it, even test pages. By following the instructions on this page, I did a hard reset by putting off the printer, unplug the power cable, leaving unplugged for about 60 seconds, then in him plugging back in and turning it back on. Same thing: makes noise for a minute or two, then three strong lights.

The printer is on a wired LAN, and I tried printing from two different computers on the network. I tried not to do a direct USB connection yet because this seems irrelevant to the question. The network (10.10.10.x) page shows the status of the printer such as "Printer Error".

FWIW, he showed the same error last week, but a hard reset fixed it on the first try. This time, it does not.

EDIT: If it helps, the date of the firmware is 20120814. I tried to update to 20150114 via the update utility, but he says that he can not find a serial p1600 printer is installed.

EDIT 2: the printer will not even turn on. Tried a few different outlets, power strip directly into the wall vs - nothing. I think he's dead. Based on my experience with HP printers, I'm not surprised.

    Hey @dselzle,

Welcome to the HP forums! I hope you enjoy your stay here.

I understand that you are having problems with turn your Laserjet P1606dn. I can help you with that.

To start, you will want to make sure that the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet , not a surge protector. Once's done it, this document will help you with your power problems.

If you are able to turn on the printer, then that's fine. If it doesn't always turn the printer will need to be repaired. You can contact HP by clicking on this link by clicking on the form below.

If this resolves your problems so please let other users know by clicking on accept as Solution next to this post.

I hope this helps and I hope you have a nice day!

Do hard reset, it can work for you. Follow the following steps

    1. unplug the AC adapter / CC, remove the battery.

2 press and hold power for about 30-40 seconds to discharge the capacitor.

    3. plug the power adapter (do not put in your battery).

    4. now, turn on your pC. It can start normally after that put in your battery.

My daughter has a laptop of HP 2000-2c17CL.   It will not turn on and the led does not blink again.  When the power cord is plugged in, the power cord light will not illuminate.  I also have a HP laptop.  I tried my power cord on my daughter's laptop and it still has not turned.  I tried the cord of my daughter on my laptop and it was working fine.  I removed the battery and tried power directly via the cord and it still didn't work.   Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello

First of all try to do a hard reset, to achieve it remove all sources of power (battery, power cable) and hold the power button for at least 30 seconds and then release the power button. Connect the power adapter only (no battery) and try to restart your laptop. I would like to know if this helps if not post me again and we will try other methods to get up and running...    Checkurtech

If you encounter this flicker, then the next troubleshooting step is to restore from a backup. If the behavior persists after the restore, then the last step is the factory restore. If after the factory restore and adding no additional content, you see always this problem, then you must make an appointment at the Genius Bar to the nearest Apple store or service provider authorized Apple to have the material examined. If the behavior goes after the factory restore, then sync again your content manually, without using the backup. It seems to me it's corrupted content in the backup.
