HP 8620 copy currency

In our company, we need to copy our work orders with any form of payment is provided by our customers. HP 8620 won't copy currency-it starts copying as usual, but stops and cancels before actually print a copy of the money with the work order. This only happens during the currency copy, copy black and white or color mode, the copy and not then to the copy of the cheques or anything else.

Is there a way to get around what I can only assume is a framework of anti-counterfeiting?

The United States restricted currency copy to the original format, but allows to size reduced or expanded, single-sided only.  See the page here: http://www.secretservice.gov/money_illustrations.shtml

I just tried on my Officejet 8620 and of course, he stopped print a $20 Bill in an inch or two, if the Bill has been loaded perpendicular or at an angle of 45 degrees on the sides.

I tried to make a copy in the format of 50%, it has copied correctly.  I have not tried other sizes, but the Bill would allow <75% or="">copies of 150%.

Hello @mburrand welcome to the Forums of HP, I hope you enjoy your experience!

I see that you are having problems to copy output.  I'd love to try to help you, but I need some information first. I'm a link a few HP Support documents below that will show you how to find what operating system you are using. In addition, if you are using Windows, please indicate if your operating system is 32-bit or 64-bit.

In the meantime, I recommend that you perform a power reset.  Unplug the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug back in the printer. Make sure that you connect the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any surge protector or power bar.

Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting operations. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!

  • OfficeJet Pro 8620: Offbeat right copy 8mm

Printer Officejet Pro 8620 S/N [edited moderator serial number], new March 4.

Normal print mode of the computer works fine, properly positioned and aligned on A4.

But the copy locally (i.e. on the printer) is improperly aligned horizontally.

The copy is shifted right 8mm.

Even move if the original is placed on the glass by hand or powered by the sheet feeder.

When double-sided, the first side is shifted right as single-sided, the second is shifted to the left. Both of 8mm.

Found the answer. In the settings of copy on this machine, there is a 'margin Shift. " This change from 'On' to 'Off' solves the problem.  I'm sure I never put it, so the question for HP is the reason it had become on my new machine. But thanks a lot for your help earlier.

Odd. If it was the lamp of the scanner, it would happen, but you wouldn't be able to scan. If it was the print head removes you from the copy of the blank pages and not be able to print. It's really a weird question. I sent you something to try out via private message.

Everything I insert through the adf comes out with a dark line printed to the bottom of the page, including pages that are being analyzed?

This is caused by a specification on the thin piece of glass to the left of the main bed.  Clean this area, it will solve the problem.  It can help to use a strong flashlight which is held parallel to the glass to highlight the area that needs to be cleaned.

  • Adding a new currency

How we add a new currency countries 3.6 numbers which is not listed, and how can I keep it there for all the software as for Pages too?

I don't think you can do anything you want.

A list of currency seems to be fixed and not related to a set of parameters of the system. You can find the list somewhere buried in the resources of the numbers, but modify these files is not recommended. In any case it wouldn't translate to Pages or other applications, either.

You can, however, create a custom cell format that appears in all what format you like, including the currency symbol, decimal numbers, etc. Since it is a formatting option that it should be retained if you copy your spreadsheet to Pages.app.

Use the Format-> cell-> Data format-> create custom Format to define the display of the cells.
