HP 9713c laptop: installation of an SSD in my HP 9713c.

How to install an SSD that features a SATA port to the interface on the MB that is pinned (not SATA)? There is no way to plug into the SSD.

I thought about it. I didn't know that the pinned interface appears off the coast of the SATA interface hard disk. He appears turned off, put it on the SSD and live. Side, note what difference in performance tremdous. He must have accelerated start-up time by up to 10 times and launching apps for iPhone by almost the same. It is a must for a slow laptop. I installed a Samsung Pro 850 128 G.

The best you can do is to contact Samsung and request recovery media to restore your system to its factory default state.

Call Samsung to get a recovery disc - to find a phone number for your location:

  • Upgrade Windows 10 + installation clean + new SSD

    Hello

My situation is that I have windows 7 Home premium OEM installed and running on a hard drive of my laptop.

My windows 10 upgrade is ready to run. (Probably, it does not matter, but I have already improved

front and rear devulcanization to windows 7).

I intend to buy a new SSD and want to end up with a clean windows 10 install on the SSD and use

my current hard drive as secondary storage.

I've read other questions on this matter, but sometimes the answers that you have upgraded to windows 10

on the old hard drive first, and then perform a clean installation on the SSD, and sometimes I read that

you need to install windows 7 on SSD first and then upgrade to windows 10 from there.

So which of these two options should I choose?

    Thanks in advance, Gilles

    Hi Gilles,.

Thank you for visiting Microsoft Community.

According to the description, you intend to buy a new SSD and want to perform a clean installation of Windows 10 on it.

    Certainly, I understand your concern.

I want to provide you with the information that you must first buy the new SSD. Then install Windows 7 on it, activate it, and then upgrade to Windows 10.

And even if you want to perform a new installation of Windows 10, you can do it.

My old laptop has ceased to exist. How can I get permission to install operating system on a new PC? I provided with the old laptop installation discs, but permission to install them on the new PC is denied.

If the installation provided with your Windows computer discs was preinstalled on the computer - it is OEM and cannot be moved. You can move Windows to another computer if you buy the retail version.

You can move the windows on a new computer

If it's a full license or upgrade retail - Yes. You can move it to another computer as long as it is installed on one computer at a time (and if it's a version upgrade the new Windows computer must have its own license of qualification). The previous Windows installation on your old computer must be formatted or deleted. You will have to perhaps call Microsoft and explain what happened to complete activation. Turning it on the second computer will automatically be in effect 'disable' the license for the first computer.

If it's an OEM license - don't. OEM licenses, including Windows preinstalled on a computer before purchase and Windows purchased separately, are related to the first computer, they are installed on and cannot be transferred to another computer. To install Windows on another computer, you will need to buy another copy.

  • Pavilion g7 1070US: installation of new SSD

I'm helping a friend with a HP Pavilion g7 1070US laptop. His original hard drive crashed and we bought a PNY 960 GB SSD drive to replace its old WD 500 GB. We were able to restore his old Win 7 because while trying to create a USB startup device the MS site says our OEM license. So we bought a new Win 10 license with a USB and when you try to start the message; "Core security check failed" appears, and the computer restarts then cycling in the same message. I tried to boot from another key USB and DVD ROM created by MS media creator but the same warning message appearing.

Later we have formatted the drive outside the laptop with a SATA adapter.  Reset us the BIOS by default. The drive is recognized by the internal BIOS diagnostic and test memory was also executed.  Both pass.  However, whenever a start is attempted the system responds with a BSOD and the message; "The verification of the security kernel failure".  All the world is facing a situation difficult always. I even bought an old copy of Win 7 Home edition and the installation CD has the same problem.

    Any suggestions...

  • HP Pavilion 15-ak002na Gaming: installation of an SSD

    Hello
I would like to install an SSD or a mSata/m2 in my PCie slot (if I have one). The SSD is expected to replace my HARD drive, this could go in a caddy to replace my CD player.

So, I want to be confirmed by the experts that my computer has a location free PCIe that supports the mSata and/or m.2 SSD? And if so, is this SATA II or III slot? There are chances that the installation of these will not void my warranty?

And finally, how the 3 options compare to eachother?

    Road to SSD:

    -Advantages:

+ Availability (I have a 240GB 2.5 "SSD already) (not that big of a pro)

    -Disadvantages:

    + More work

+ Certainly void my warranty (I got the laptop last month)

+ 1 TB of data up to 240 GB to sacrifice space.

    mSATA/m.2 road:

    -Advantages:

    + Less work

+ Not to sacrifice data space

    -Disadvantages:

    + Might not be as stable/fast /...

I honestly don't know much about this stuff, I just read an article that gave me the idea that something to do early in the spring. Please correct me if I have something wrong.

    Thank you

  • FM9 (TCS2) Installation not on SSD?

Only, I came across this article under "Required" for TCS2 installation:

    > 6.5 GB of disk space available for installation. additional space required during installation (cannot install on flash storage devices)

I intend to invest in a Thinkpad X 301 with a 128 GB SSD, I find this irritating requirement, to say the least.

Anyone here have hands-on experience with installing FM9 (or the TCS2) on a laptop with a SSD?

    Thank you

    Johann

I think that this requirement is indicating that a USB - stick must not be used. As far as I KNOW, the SSDS should be treated as hard drives.

  • Symbol ban after new installation on new SSD

    Hello

A few months ago, my original HD failed (MacBook Pro (13-inch, mid 2012)).

I decided to replace it myself with a SSD instead.

the thing is, every time you start, I get the symbol ban for a few seconds until sometimes for hours, but once the start is done - everything works perfectly.

tried to replace the disc SSD 3 times now - the same result after each new installation of recovery of the internet.

Currently, using SanDisk Ultra II 240 GB.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you!

The symbol you see means that the computer did not find a bootable system disk and sometimes occurs when you have not set up a default startup disk. Go to System Preferences, and then select Startup disk. You should see your SSD in the window. Select it after you unlock the preferences.

The strange thing is that, if this is your problem, it must be solved in seconds - certainly not hours. This would suggest there is something more complex. You say that you tried to replace the SSD 3 times. Different drives? Different manufacturers?

  • Tecra 8200: After SP2 computer laptop installation keeps rebooting

    Hello.

I am running Windows XP Pro in my Tecra 8200 and decided to install SP2 (oh error) now, whenever I turn it on I go as far as a blue screen with the following message
    STOP: c0000135 {Unable to locate component}
This application has failed to start because winsrv was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

After my laptop keeps restarting - boots - blue screen again. I have tried everything to connect to windows to uninstall SP2, but I can not connect.
I tried to change the boot sequence (some ppl said that it was starting in LAN), I disabled the CPU Cache and L2 in the BIOS and still nothing. If I turn off reset on the failure of the system (as some other guy suggested) I just can't not anywhere either.

Unfortunately, I do not have the boot floppies so I can not format the laptop.

Now I know why that is happening, but the answers I get is to uninstall SP2, update the Bios, or to download patches, but I can't make one any of them because I can't get into windows, even in safe mode.

    Someone at - it ideas?

    Hi Hector.

If you cannot start in safe mode, and then unfortunately mode your only real option is to reinstall your operating system to the original recovery disks.

I think something went wrong during the installation of SP2 and this has led to the corruption of one or more of your system files.

I also recommend that you take a full backup of your system before attempting to do a re-installation of SP2 so that you do not have to depend on start-up in Windows to regulate if necessary.

Personally I take a picture full backup to an external hard drive using Norton Ghost before applying any big maintenance work on my own laptop.

Update: I thought that it was portable average size but it of a laptop thin and seems your limit at just the 1 TB HARD drive or you can swap out to a 1 TB SSD but I also what HP says about the laptop.

"1 TB 5400 RPM SATA; Flash cache: 8 GB; The flash cache module is designed to accelerate the experience of response of the system and cannot be used as extra storage. It is not removable by and not accessible to the user. »

So your expansion options may be limited. Much will depend on what size is the 1 TB of HARD drive that is currently in it right now you need to find an SSD that fits this same dimension to replace the original HARD drive that is there. But what they have now is 1 TB SSD and SSD 2 TB are quite expensive and I do not know how it dimension compared to the CT 1 SSD drives.

  • HP 15-f215dx: installation of an SSD

I am wanting to install an SSD in my laptop to increase performance.  Would it be possible to keep the hard drive I have now in additional to the new SSD?  The f215dx can support 2 hard drives?

There is only one hard drive Bay. Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

See page 46. Access to the hard drive Bay is not too easy. You must remove the entire cover.

The only way 2 hard disks of the computer there is to give the DVD drive and install a disk adapter hard optical drive:

See page 34 of the manual on how to remove the DVD drive. The device above with the original mechanical hard drive can be inserted in place of the DVD player to give you more storage, and then run Windows of an SSD.
