HP A5120 JE074A Switch Series - produced comparable Dell?

I chose HP A5120 switches for 3 reasons:

1. price - they cost about $1300

2. warranty and assistance - duration of life without supplement

3. characteristics: stacking

Is there a comparable with Force10 switch?  I would consider PowerConnect, but I hate the CLI.

The S25 and S50 look like they would suite your needs.

  • HP Pavilion HPE h8-1050z-switch series

Hello, my computer below has a button/power switch that fell in and can either be pressed.

    HP Pavilion HPE series

    MODEL: h8-1050z

SERIES: [edited by Moderator serial number]
    PRODUCT NUMBER: LP026AV #ABA

Need part numbers for switch/button replacement sets.

    Please advice

    Thank you.

I suspect it's the button broke off his mount. It's just a piston. The actual switch is lower. You need to remove the real top panel to decide the issue. Here's a guide. See p 2 and 3. After removing the side panel and the front panel, you should see the screws in the top panel. You might be able to fix it to the mount.

If this is not the case, a replacement Panelcan be purchased here.

  • I tried to connect my printer HP Deskjet 2540 all-in-One Series to my Dell Inspiron 15

    Separated from this thread.

    Hi Bill,

I tried to connect my HP Deskjet 2540 all-in-One Series printer to my Dell Inspiron 15 for two days without success.  Can you help me?

    Lenora,

I have a HP DeskJet 2540 on my Dell Inspiron 1545.

The instructions from HP work so you should be fine if you follow them.  The CD contains a ReadMe file that describes the installation procedure.

You must install the software first, and only then connect the printer.  Note that you will first need to install it on a USB connection.  You can change this later if, like me, you intend to use it with WiFi.

  • Controller integrated with work RAID1 C drive defined (on Dell) to switch to a different Dell

Hi - I have a T7500 with a C drive RAID1 array (composed of two drives of 2 TB Hitachi sister) working set in a RAID1 (made with the integrated SATA controller) configuration and I would move intact to another identical T7500.  I tried with another set of disks on another computer Dell Precision game last year and jumped in thinking it was simple from the manual; but, I was wrong, I was forced to break the game and copy one of the disks for a configuration already, Virgin RAID1 set.

Manual is not so clear. Does anyone know how to do this?  Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you.

  • New switches to 1 G of S series

    Hi all

I want to ask about the new S series switches.

comparing them with the N series, I see almost no difference even rising same debit and all specifications are almost the same, then what is the purpose of these series in design and new implementation in use N series and when use the series S I already finished all the online training for the two and directed training.

Why use the series as ToR S and N-series, as edge or distribution switch and they are all the same in the specification?

Please, I want a technical answer?

    Thanks in advance

The N-series in many cases to suite most of the needs of the network. The CLI is very similar to Cisco, which makes easy deployment. The N-series is the older the PowerConnect line replacement. The N-series works Dell Networking OS 6, which introduced several features that the previous PowerConnect range did not have.
    http://Dell.to/2aD7tRU

The S series derives from the Force10 range and running the Dell Networking OS 9. S-3048 also is an open, network switch that allows you to run an operating system like Cumulus. http://Dell.to/2aq9qBl
    http://Dell.to/1LmMD6K

As far as to recommend one or the other, who goes really down to the current needs of the network, or the needs of the planned network. Review the features you need and ensure that these features are taken in charge by the switch. If both of the switches in the network needs more, I would then watch material currently being implemented on the network. S-series so much N works perfectly with other brands of switches. But if your shop is more familiar with Cisco, then the N-series will be the sweetest to streamline. If the network is composed of more devices Force10, then the S series can be the way to go.

Dell offer network consulting. They can work side by side with you so make sure that the design and the material meets your business needs.

  • Plug-and-Play for Cisco Small Business 300 Series managed switch

    Nice day

What are the automatic installation options available for the Managed Switch series of Cisco Small Business 300?

It seems there are not, the operating system is not the standard IOS I used to.

I would use with ability to bridge the Infrastructure first Cisco PnP.

    Concerning

    Stone

First Infrastructure use and assume an agent CNS (Cisco Network Services) on the other side, when you enable the 'plug & play '. Series 300/500 do not run IOS and does not include the CNS agent, but there is a way to activate the automatic configuration. Switches supported by the automatic DHCP configuration (using DHCP options 66, 67, etc.) in which case they automatically download their config to a TFTP server at boot time. This allows an administrator to put the configs for all switches on a TFTP server and simply start a default switch factory in order to obtain config.

Seal a document shows how this is done.

Hope that the information would be useful.

  • Series of unmanaged switches 100 and DHCP

Hi all, we have a router RV082 switch 8 ethernet ports, it is actually 8 lan with a DHCP address assignment devices (router is used as switch/router and DHCP server).

Now we need to increase the number of attached LAN devices (other pc, printers, etc.), and we think buy Cisco 100 ethernet switch Series 16 or 24 ports to connect to RV082.

In this case RV082 will be able to assign DHCP addresses for devices connected to the eth switch ports?

    Thanks in advance.

Hi Loris, yes it is not a problem. You should be able to switch on a lan port, connect computers to the switch and things should be OK.

  • Difference between Dell Powerconnect N4032F and 8132F

    Hello!

In the last days, the Dell PowerConnect 8100 disappeared from the Dell Web site and now, the M4000 series with the same characteristics are presented.

It's just a change of name or these devices differ in some way? The M4000 firmwares is usable on 8100 switches in the future?

    Thank you

    Kind regards

    Stril

Dell PowerConnect N4000 switches series both Dell Networking PC8100 series share the same version of the firmware of the image (for example, N4000v6.1.0.1.stk). The Dell Networking N4000 series switches can be stacked with switches Dell Networking PC8100 of the series with any battery necessary for the performance of 6.0.0.8 or later firmware (6.1.0.1). Dell Networking PC8100 switches can support the firmware both 5.x and 6.x versions, but Dell Networking N4000 can support only the 6.0.0.8 and later versions of firmware (6.1.0.1)

    I hope this helps.

  • Dell PowerConnect 7048 P reference stack Questions

    Hello

I have two switches in L3 7048P I want the battery but I'm not sure how it works. The two switches have the same firmware.

1 must. the two have the same configuration running on both to make it work?

    2. in addition, I created a VLAN (3) voice on the first switch with an IP address of 10.0.3.254. I use the same IP address on the second switch in the VLAN 3 addresses or assign another?

    Thank you!

There is a guide especially for stacking switch 7048 on the Dell page networking white papers:

    en.Community.Dell.com/.../2580.Networking-guides.aspx

Just search "Dell PowerConnect 7000 Series Switches stacking".  Page 16 will tell you how to add a new Member to the battery with minimum interruptions. Both can present the same firmware in order to stack.  So the answer to question 1 is no, the configurations do not need correspond to stack them.  Once stacked, both will look like a single switch, and you use only the IP address of the master swtich to the whole stack.  Therefore, treat the two switches as a single switch during Setup.  The guide provides more information on how it works.

    Hope this has been helpful.
