HP all-in-one cannot receive faxes

My computer only has a line for the phone and therefore cannot receive or send faxes.  I bought a hp printer all in one, but I would like the computer to receive faxes and use the all-in-one to send manuals.  Is there a software that I need to download

Sorry, I don't understand this sentence right at all. You need two things to
Send and receive faxes: a telephone line and a fax modem. You say that you have
a telephone line, which is one of the two things you need, not something
preventing you to send or receive faxes. But you don't say anything
on the question of whether you have a fax modem.

  • Can send but cannot receive faxes on HP Laserjet on Mac 10.9 Mavericks with answering machine TAM

I have an iMac running OS 10.9 (Mavericks) and a machine to print/scan/fax all-in-one HP Laserjet Professional M1212nf MFP connected by USB.  I have a phone with answering machine connected system.

I can send faxes of the HP and the Mac (using the pdf fax).  What I can't do, is to receive faxes on the HP (I know that the Mac cannot receive faxes with this machine).  I tried all the combinations of parameters without result even unplug the phone/answering machine without result.

Any ideas what I need the settings?

    Hi ChuckStewart,

It is definitely a head scratcher! I found some additional information from the following link, you use a product of Fax HP with a telephone answering machine (TAM).

I found this interesting presentation text, when recording the outgoing message on your TAM, share of voice must be at least 10 seconds of time, but not more than 20 seconds . Save 5-7 seconds of silence at the end of the vocal part of your outgoing message (message coming out would be your voice message length plus the extra 5 to 7 seconds of recorded silence ).

I wonder if you might find something useful in the document.

Please let me know. Thank you.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 cannot receive faxes

    HP Officejet Pro 8600

    ================

    Cannot receive faxes.

    Able to send faxes.

Have a line telephone/answering system equipment, with 4 lights.

    I send a fax to the 1-888-473-2963.

A few minutes later my phone/answering machine equipment has started ringing 4 times, asking to leave a message.

Then I heard the ringtone that a fax has been available and I checked the printer display. I had an option:

    "receive faxes manually.

I pushed this option and the incoming fax was printed.

If this case should be closed.

  • All-in-one Officejet J6400 Fax receive not always or not at all

OfficeJet J6400, Vista.  Connected to the laptop via cable and wireless.  It is connected to the same phone number line, with the answering machine.  Settings seem correct and even when I had previous HP printer.  4 rings on the answering machine pickup and 6 rings for fax receive.  The fax does not receive.  Even if auto answer is on.  I am able to fax, manually. (have not tried otherwise)

I have to figure out how to keep the auto answer on vs switch mode 'sleep' (of another post).  But sometimes it is not in Standby Mode and AutoA is off.   Regardless, machine does not seem to take faxes.  BUT, when you do the test with HPFaxme, it doesn't work. !

And, when you use the HP Solution Center, all settings are made, and sometimes their fax Test does not work.

Another question... in Fax configuration, which is PC modem in this question in quotes?  It's same as router? -"Are you using a PC modem (to access online services) on the same phone line as the device HP?   Answer is Yes or no.  Which is mine?

I don't have DSL, and fax is on the same phone line. I have a DSL filter connected to the wire, of course.  Another wire goes from phone line in the wall (there is a separator) to the router.  This configuration refers to highest question?

Is the best connection wireless or cable (printer for laptop)?

    Thank you!

I'm back earlier than expected.  I never ran any patches of the HP link because another action (s) would have helped (which is recommended for another problem I had).

    So-

I had the printer connected to the laptop via a USB connection and network.  (wire cable between the printer and the laptop and wireless through the printer setup)   Due to many problems to make the light stays on 'Auto response' (I posted on this separately in the recent past), I have the settings Fax arranged in a strange way to make this work.  So I didn't want to change these settings, what would be the recommended link for me to do.  For the problem of the 'auto response', I ended up connecting computer to the printer via the cable. And that probably contributed to this problem.

I kept the two connections since and chose USB (OfficejetJ6480 copy1) wire as my setting of the printer preference in the settings box of the printer in Control Panel.  I think that even when I did the Wifeless-network connection preferably in the settings area of the printer in the Control Panel, the receiving fax machine or tests do not seem to work (even if it was some time ago and not tried recently).

I think the duplicate connections was things confused.  The fax Test seemed to spend during a test of the printer settings button.  But he would not pass when the test has been made Fax Tools in the Solutions Center on computer. (And this I tested it today.)

SO, I deleted the wireless network connection and the "device" (officejetJ6480) in the settings of the printer in the control panel.  I simply removed it.  I have left the "copy1 OfficejetJ6480" intact and continue the preference for the 'peripheral '.

I have rebooted computer and run Fax Test of the printer and printer Solutions Center on computer configuration tool.  And they both passed Test.  Go figure.

And also, the test of HPFaxMe works very well.    Thus, 3 tests have passed. !

I hope this will be useful for someone even if it is confusion.

But I'm sure that one of the hotfixes in the MissTeri link should help too.

    Thanks MissTeri!

  • Scanning with HP all-in-one printer with fax and scan Windows in Windows 8

When you install a printer driver in Windows 8, you can scan from your computer without having to install any additional software to HP. This is particularly useful if you want to or not does not require the full functionality software or if your printer does not have a driver to scan for Windows 8.

Windows Fax and Scan uses a Microsoft Service called WIA (Windows Image Acquisition) to capture an image from the scanner and allow you to save without the need for additional drivers.

In addition, Windows Fax and Scan cannot scan to PDF.

  • Cannot receive faxes officejet 6500 wireless

    Hello

I suddenly have problems to receive faxes. Alone was able to cross over early today, and as I understand it, it took 8 minutes to my fax machine to connect. I get error reports saying type is "received" and result in "error 244 *.» I tried instructions support on the HP site, and those who, unfortunately, were not very useful. One thing, I thought may be useful was turning power switch on the ECM - however, it is not all the instructions to do it on my model!

  • Cannot receive faxes with 1522MFP M

Have a HP Laser Jet Multifunction all-in-one M1522MFP Series PCL 6 working with HP PC running Windows 7. The installation wizard using HP beneath all the programs/HP/M1522MFP, I put the fax in fax mode / such. Have connected a telephone service directly from the telephone wall jack to the port phone on HP computer and a phone line from the phone Out Port on the computer to a phone. I can make calls from the phone and I can send faxes to the machine but incoming faxes appears to be as a voice call, i.e. phone rings attached, the fax does not receive the incoming synchronization signals and incoming fax goes unanswered. The LED display on the machine says Fax / such. I ran the wizard configuration several times and checked the connections without success. Under devices and printers, I have two icons for M1522 MFP with a ticked by default. Could it be the source of the problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Implementation of all of the recommended changes and am able to receive faxes now. Don't know what change did more but suffice it to say that I am happy with the results. This forum and this collaborator, in particular, are high, in my opinion. Thank you!

  • HP Photosnart 7525 can send but cannot receive fax

I recently bought a HP photosmart 7525 all-in-one printer.  all functions seem to work except the FAX well. I see the following problems.   I have the device plugged into the PHONE modem provided by my company with a phone number with a telephone line splitter.  When two telephone lines are connected to the modem from the phone at home is unable to receive calls.  I have the auto answer disabled.

When I perform the test fax HP, it is able to send the fax but there is then a reply fax reception error.  This happens even if the fax is the only branch line.

This has been resolved. I switched to another phone line, I don't know if it's that came with the printer or not. changed the slow speed (9600) and I now get an answer of the test fax HP. the local fax test also notes that everything passes.

  • I have a HP Officejet 7300xi all-in-One printer scanner fax

The Hp Solution Center does not open. When I double click to open it a message indicating "no HP devices have been detected. HP Solution Center will close now. I tried to uninstall the program and then reinstall it with no luck. Nobody has solved this problem?

Thank you for your concern. I contacted HP through a chat session and received the information below to try to remove and reinstall. Well so far it seems to work. If someone else is having a similar problem, they should at least try this method.

Here are the steps to manually uninstall.

    (1) unplug the printer from the computer or network.

    2) click on the Windows button on the computer.

    (3) type folder in the box and press ENTER to open it.

    (4) locate and click 7zs2b7.tmp file to open it, if not, check for any file starting with 7z.

    (5) open this folder and then find the Util folder and open it.

    6) double-click the CCC folder to open it.

    (7) double click on Uninstall_L3

NOTE: For 64-bit, the uninstall file will look like and Uninstall_L3_64 for 32 bit, it will be Uninstall_L3

Now, restart the computer and reinstall the driver software of all the features by using the link below.

The document reads "HP Officejet and Photosmart full feature software and drivers.

    Hello

Your printer model do not support a full borderless printing, must not exceed the specified margin and it is a limitation of the hardware.

You can find his record of handling of paper below:

    Borderless printing: No

Welcome to the forums of HP.

I understand that your premium of 6700 does not receive faxes properly.

    I would like to help.

The communication seems to be there, but something is wrong with a framework.

If I could know a little more about the configuration, I can better help you.

The voice calls and faxes that are received on the same line?

Is there a voicemail on line service?

    Faxes have a distinctive ring?

The installation of the printer must recognize the distinctive ring?

Or if there is no distinctive ring, perhaps the printer is looking for one when it shouldn't.

Go to the configuration menu, then the Tools submenu.
