HP All in One Printer 6110 - scanning does not work

I bought a MAC Mini 10.8.4 Mountain Lion and the part of the digitization of all in a 6100 does not, receive a msg scanner is not initialized, not found.   Went to the web to download a new software finished etc.    I rebooted the computer unplugged the printer etc. Still nothing.      Went to hard drive and the icon uninstall gives a msg. Cannot open App because PowerPC is no longer supported.     So what to do then, how do I uninstall and reinstall the software or part of scan to printer not compatible w/new MAC Mountain Lion?     Thank you.

As a former model, scanning is no longer supported for your device since Mac OS X v10.5 as you can find indicated at the bottom of the document below, goes the same for any new OS X version:

Although there are print drivers only there are third-party solution that can allow you to scan with the unit, such as VueScan seems to support your printer and compatible with the Mountain Lion (although only Officejet 6105 is registered, I would assume the 6100 series should work):

    Printer worked flawlessly after upgrade to Windows 10. But with the last update, I can't scan more by HP Solution Center. I tried HP doctor and then remove and reinstall the software suite full, ensuring I have the latest drivers, but it still does not work. HP Solution Center is installed on my pc, I can even click on it and then it opens (briefly) and then closes, there is no way I can use the features.     I can't open the HP Solution Center to scan. When I try to open it I get a notification that all software is not installed. I ran Dr. scanning HP and all software installation downloaded and ran. Every thing is installed. Tried to open it to new and same result.

    Am going to the forum and found this update of windows 3132372 could be the problem. Checked and I do not have that update to uninstall.

    Because the HP Scan and Capture app can be a solution. Who has downloaded but it refused to detect my printer.

    I really need to solve this problem. I got nothing else problems with printing and scanning as Windows 10 came.

    A ran a uninstall and reinstalled (second time). It's working now.

    Since then, I've lost the scan function of the printer all-in-one HP Officejet J4550 that worked fine so far in XP.

    Have you tried to update the driver for the printer?

    When I print a black and white document, only a few impressions, but it's very light.  No words will print at all. I callibrated, cleaned print heads, went out and reinstalled the dell ink cartridges.  I don't know what else to do.

    White pages or impressions of light can be caused by any of the following reasons:

    • Ink cartridges are not installed.
    • Ink depleted.
    • Failure of the print head.

    Here are some steps we can try in this case:

    1. Reinstall the ink cartridges. If the cartridges do not seem to fit, make sure that the print head is installed and re - install the cartridges again.
    2. Try using a spare cartridges to reproduce the problem. We would be able to locate it to a cartridge impoverished if the replacement cartridge helps you to print correctly.
    3. Load plain paper.
    4. In the printer control panel, press menu .
    5. Press the arrow keys to scroll to maintenance, and press OK.
    6. Press the arrows to scroll to print head deep cleaning, then press on OK. Print a cleaning page.
    7. Press the arrow keys to scroll to align printerand press OK. Print an alignment page.

      Note:
      does not remove the alignment page until printing is complete.
    8. Select a higher print quality in the printer software. To select a better print quality:
      1. Your document open, click file print.
      2. The print dialog box opens.
      3. Click Preferences, Properties, Options, or Setup (depending on the program or operating system).
      4. The Print Options dialog box opens.
      5. On the Print Setup tab, select a higher quality setting.
      6. Reprint the document.

      1. Make sure that you have selected the right operating system before you start to download the firmware.
      2. Print head needs to be removed and the cover must be closed before you upgrade the firmware.
      3. After the update of the firmware, install the print head and try to print.

    The printer will print after replacing more paper in the middle of a print job. Checked for paper jam and it is clear.

    No error message flashing.

    I read on how your Deskjet F350 will not print once you have replaced most paper during a print job. What comes to mind, is that the printer can think it's even more paper.

    Try to reset the printer and restart the computer and try again to print.

    Reset instructions:

    • Press the power button to turn the product on.
    • With the product, unplug the power cord from the back of the product.
    • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
    • Wait at least 15 seconds.
    • Plug the power cord into the wall outlet.
    • Reconnect the power cord to the back of the product.
    • If the product does not light by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.

    Let me know what happens!

    Alone is capable to scan himself. This is done by using the HP Officejet 6600 icon to access to the

    (also available in an earlier version of the software and not available on the other pc).

    This open a page with a sweep, a document or a Photo option, which allows me to scan a document.

  • All-in-one Officejet 6700 Premium does not work when a cartridge is empty

    On my officejet 6700 Premium, I have had trouble since the magenta cartridge was missing.  I'm unable to print even if you select using black only, it appears on the screen that gives me the choice to order or cancel, it gives also this pop up if I try to scan documents to save to my computer and even trying to fax.

    I am currently using Windows 7 Ultimate service pack 1

    I am at a loss on it and a plan to buy a cartridge, but in the meantime all that I need is to use black and also to scan documents.  Is there a way around this issue?

    I'm sorry that you are experiencing this issue.

    You will not be able to print WITHOUT this magenta cartridge. Some printers (older models) can print certain colors without another cartridge in the printer. The reason why it is not printing because this magenta blends in with all the other cartridges to perform a true black.

    So if it was another cartridge, it would give you the same error message and do not print.

  • Printer re - install - Scan does not work

    I have re-installed a series HP Photosmart C3100 all in One printer/scanner on a new PC with Windows 7-64 bit. Downloaded the latest version of the software including a patch (CPE_SCAN_DESTINATION_UPDATE_hpcom_001_003) without apparent difficulty. Print and copy of work but the Scan does not work. Downloaded the diagnostic utility, HPSDU and executed. HPSDU crosses the first five steps and hangs up on HP Scanner Twain, Message says scanner does not respond, the device and the computer to restart. Have done this several times with the same result.

    This printer and scanner worked fine on old Vista PC. Any ideas?

    I did a complete uninstall of all the HP software and reinstalled. I don't have reinstall the patch. Scanner works now!
