I am interested in the HP Store and want to buy HP Envy 810qe desktop. It has a 'Blu - ray player and SuperMulti DVD burner." Can I burn data and media projects of discs blu - ray recordable with this burner? I have two different answers when I talk with the Sales Department of online chat.

If the description says "drive Blu - ray and DVD SuperMulti burner."  Then it can only burn to DVD or CD.  In the description in the "customize and buy" button is says - play music and movies, backup files and burn your own CD and DVD.

There is no possibility to opt for this particular model, unfortunately.

99% of laptop optical drives are interchangeable, which includes Blu - ray as well. Measure your old drive at the thickest point, if it is 12.7 mm thick, then you're good to go.

The tray is removable and it adapts to the new disk.

Do not buy a laptop Blu - ray burner, they are not that great. If you want to burn Blu - ray, get an external USB burner.

(I checked the part number too, what a rip off!)   200 and 300 dollars! )

Also, know that you will need a software to play Blu-rays and power DVD10 is free for owners of HP, but problematic, as with all Blu - ray drives on computer. Constantly, they need updates and affect many things like anti anti-virus programs, firewalls, Windows updates, conflicts with other programs, etc.

All that this can cause the drive simply stop working or cause jerky playback _ consider a stand-alone drive.

DVD10 power is in the list, if it settles, post again.

  • Burned DVD using Windows DVD Maker times only once on my Blu - ray player

    Original title: burned dvd

When I do a cd burned with my windows dvd maker, dvd will play only once on my blu - ray player separated from the TV.  It works fine the first time, but the Player cannot find the disc any time after that.  I use dvd + r discs.  Is there a formatting problem, or do I need to get the dvd + rw discs.  I'm really at a loss.  Thanks for your help guys!

    Hi frapachino21,

-The problem occurs with all CD/DVD you burn using Windows DVD Maker?

-After playback of the disc on the Blu - ray drive, the drive is not detected on your desktop/computer laptop with no problems?

To use certain kinds of CD or DVD discs outside of your computer, you must close the session, which is a process that prepares the disc to be read by other computers and players.

You can try to close or finalize the CD/DVD and check if it makes a difference.

  • PRE10 project burn as blu - ray but will not burn on DVD.

I created a project of still images in PRE10 with 30 NTSC-HDV-HDV 1080i settings.  I burned the project as a blu - ray player, and it turned out great.  I tried to burn the same project on a DVD and it goes through the process of encoding very well.  However, when it comes to actually burn it to disc it fills about 5% and then abruptly ends saying the burn is completed even if none of the files are written to the DVD (it is always empty).  The same thing happens when I try to burn the project to a folder (no files are created).  I created other projects with this setting and can't seem to burn to blu - ray or DVD.  Any ideas on why this is happening?

    Welcome to the forum.

As a test, and perhaps as a viable production flow, can you share your HD Timeline to an AVI DV widescreen file? This process completed, giving you a DV - AVI Type II removal w / 16-bit 48 kHz PCM/WAV multiplexed into a single file?

If this is the case, then the new project, choose NTSC or PAL, depending on where you live, DV Widescreen project w / 48 KHz Audio. Import this DV - AVI file in the new project. Use the SD value of your choice to create Menus, make your chapter markers and marker Menu, with no marker to stop at the end of the timeline Menu. Burning this project to record and test with a software DVD player. Does it work?

If your still Images have been scaled for an HD (your BD project) project correctly, there should be no need to re - fit the DVD, but if they were imported at full resolution of the camera, then you should follow the advice of Neale. Although the burnt end comic book project, have tons of unused pixels is a real load on your system, and when you have to down-scale considerably for the DVD project, it may be that more than the computer can handle.

Good luck and please report on how will this test.

  • Blu Ray player can not read the DVD. It can read CDs and Blu Ray discs, but not DVD.

Recently, I lost my hard drive.  Dell sent me a new disk with the drivers that came with the computer.

I just noticed that my Blu Ray player is no longer playing DVDs.  I don't know if the hard drive crash has nothing to do with it, or if it's a coincidence.

Windows says I have the latest driver.

The computer is a Dell XPS 8300.   Is the Blu Ray player: bd - re bh30n hl-dt-st.

The player has not served almost at all.   I read that there are the eyes for the Blu Ray vs DVD, then maybe the DVD part has failed.

I'm always suspect that miss me a piece of software or a changed value.

    Any ideas?

For all of you, the poor souls who shared my problem on the internet, I got beyond that.   Even though all said I had the latest driver, I found someone who said that they had downloaded a newer driver form the LG site and it fixed the problem.   Well, BH30N wasn't a model # on the LG site, but I found here: http://www.firmwarehq.com/download_1703-file_BH30N-A103.zip.html Norton said it was OK, I clicked on the EXE file, he said that he had me upgrade from A101 to A103 and suggested that I reload.   Once I did, my Blu Ray player will read the DVD fine.

  • Blu Ray player and HP MediaSmart DVD problem

I recently bought a hp with a hp w2408h m9515y desktop computer.  This computer came equipped with a Blu Ray player and when I tried to play a movie for the first time on hp mediasmart dvd I got the message 'content is protected', "the content is not allowed to play in the current display mode.  I also tried to play blu ray on windows media player and windows media center and had no chance.  I spoke with hp and geek technical support team of the best buy also with no luck.  If anyone has any advice I would appreciate it, of course.  Thank you

Finally, after about 3 hours with tech support at hp, we have solved the problem.  We had to reset the computer to factory settings and it worked.  Erny, thank you for your help, I appreciate it.

  • My Sony Blu - ray player keeps restarting during playback of a DVD.

During playback of a DVD in my Sony Blu - ray BD/DVD player, he keeps cutting, then by automatically restarting itself and goes back to the home menu. It is a series of BDV-2100. Any suggestions? I disabled sleep settings. Unplugged for a minute and turned back. I did find some useful suggestions for this in community support issues. Is it a common problem with this series of Blu - ray?

    Hi Heather5300,

Try to Update the software of the player. If it persists, try to have the player reset to factory default settings. Is the issue only happening on a particular disc?

  • Blue-Ray player instead of the DVD player?

I have a 1285dx DV7 comes with a standard DVD player. Is it possible to upgrade to a blue-ray player?

I hope it could be as simple that buying a player blue ray (eBay?) to replace the dvd in the laptop drive, then the upgrade of the software for me to play blueray discs.

If it is a viable possibility, do I need a drive blueray HP or Dell will work?

    Win7 Ultimate 64-bit

8 GB of Ram with a Corsair SSD

These discs should work with your DV 7 if advertised properly...

you will need a Blu - Ray player to play Blu - ray movies, and the drive should be detected automatically as soon as you install it... no driver required...

  • PHYSICALLY HAVE A BLU RAY PLAYER but NOT blu ray properties list HP TS L633r

I have a laptop HP Pavilion DV7-6B55DX, A1T53UA #ABA Windows 7 Pro computer. 64-bit, brown spots. the watch to have a Super Multi DVD burner TS L633R as the optical drive. He also appeared in my Drive Properties. BUT PHYSICALLY I HAVE A BLU RAY PLAYER. I checked by the disc cover of brand with Blu - Ray Disc and Logo and the Blue Laser light rather than red, see also a Lightscribe sensor. After hours of phone with HP they say I don't have Blu Ray (because tasks Brunettes. say it isn't so). Has had a case of Archbishop telling me that the laptop has been changed by someone, and it came not from the factory with her. I bought at BB sealed. He also went to repair HP for a related problem of the United Nations and they have checked that the laptop has never changed. Mgr. case wants to send me for English to look at and remove the Blu Ray and put in a DVD Super Multi burner, as the tasks of the plant requested. The only thing I need is to know what Blu Ray I have so I can get the drivers/firmware. Case PS Bishop was not ready to do any type of Compensation,
Thus, the player won't play Blu Ray discs. Windows does not recognize a Rayt Blu on the disk. I looked everywhere don't know even how to get a driver/firmware to make it work because, after looking everywhere for a driver and or firmware to get it working, in addition, I do not know what the Blu Ray player is really

No, it won't. Not if HP has already confirmed that the drive in your laptop must be a SuperMulti DVD, that's all I would do. So your player works, and it's the correct drive. Not much you can do here unfortunately.

My only thought would be to go back to Best Buy and ask them how it happened. Maybe someone caught the laptop bad. They sell refurb and customer returns. They don't sell them as new of course, but they sell them. Maybe that's what you bought?  Sales were also known to slowly open mailboxes, Exchange parts and then return as new.  Best Buy has no idea because the box seems good and put it on the shelf.  Kind of looks like what could happen to you.  I used to work in detail and took people trying all the time.

  • HP ENVY 750se desktop PC: turn around blu - ray player?

    Hello

I just got the desktop PC HP ENVY 750se with Blu - ray burners and burner DVD SuperMulti burner.

Everything works fine. My problem is the orientation of the reader.

It would have been better if the reader was prepared horizontally.  Not happened.  HP box should go on the right side of my desktop, drive is mounted vertically, and this is my chance that the orientation of the player opposite me who puts Assembly and disassembly of the ackward media CD/DVD/Bluray and quite a twist of the wrist excersize.

Until I opened the box and experiement if I can go back to the disc, so he faced me, is this doable from a material point of view? Or is the disc material permanently set to this position to damndable?

I think that my last resort is to order my office by placing the box on its side and to serve as a basis for my monitor.  If the Player cannot be reversed, ok to run the HP box on the side?

    Any help or advice appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Hello @Ryck,

    Thanks for the reply!

If you place the office in a horizontal position, then the event must be correct upwards?  I don't think that should be a problem.  However, if placing the office horizontally, covers the vent, so I do not recommend it.

    I hope this helps.

    Kind regards!

  • The Blu - Ray player will be available by Satellite P200-1EE?

I bought this computer at Christmas to be able to play HD-DVD discs, which he does well.
Since that time, Toshiba gives obviously upward with the HD-DVD format.
Toshiba will now provide a Blu - Ray player as replacement? The machine is set for HD, then why not?

Does anyone know if there is a Blu - Ray Burner package for laptops in general?
