HP C6180 is no longer recognized by computer HP

Hello

I just got a message from a pop up that says:

"Windows can't open add printer."  The local print spooler service

does not work.  Please restart the spooler or restart the machine. »

I checked in the Control Panel and clicked on 'Printer' and my Printer HP Photosmart C6100 series has literally disappeared AND when I try to "Add a printer", yet once I get the above message.  Hmmmm.  I'm no computer guru, however, I sense enough to work my way around the times machine/devices.

I hope that this community will be ready to help as the CSRs HP in another part of the globe (you know where I mean) are not ready to think outside the box and at least TRY a process of elimination to solve problems rather than tell me I have a big problem and I have to buy a new printer

Moreover, what is a "local print spooler" and where do you find?  Here are the stats from my equipment:

  • HP TV m7760n E6400 (loading of bells & whistles...)
  • HP Photosmart C6180 all-in-One
  • Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium

In addition, my printer works fine when asked not to communicate with my PC and vice versa.  In fact, the two work very well just with zero communication feel between the two.  Please tell me this can be solved with a few 'clicks'... Please.

Thank you

DexterM,

Thank you for taking the time to react. From the display at the beginning, I have somehow... don't ask me how I found the answer/fix to the "question" of the past day or so (I am determined... all this implies), however, I copy your answer/help in a file for later use.  Here is the link I found who "fixed" my problem "local print spooler:

http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/2000007

Maybe this link will not help anyone else, but he me helped get my printer to be once more recognized by my PC.  Once again, thank you very much!

Greetings from Texas

  • Y50-70 - USB Reader and card reader no longer recognized

I have Lenovo Y50-70 (running Windows 10) and my WD My Passport Ultra external drives are more recognized (they worked fine until 3 days ago). My card reader CF is no longer recognized either. My Samsung Galaxy S5 works well.

The WD My Passport drives Ultra both my card reader still work with my older ThinkPad, which works in Windows 7. This isn't a disc problem, or a cable problem.

When I look in devices and printers, the WD My Passport Ultra appears. It has the following warning sign for troubleshooting option. When I troubleshoot it comes back telling me that the driver is not installed. Continuing, he finds the driver, install it and asks to restart the computer. After the computer restarts, the drive still does not appear.

When you look at the properties of the drive, it says that the driver is not installed and an error code 28 the list.

  • 16GB SD card is no longer recognized as such

I have two identical cards of SD 16 GB used for 6 months or more without any problem.  Recently formatted on a VISTA computer.  Now is no longer recognized as an SD card.  Works well as a high capacity flash drive.  Any way to restore the map as a 16 GB SD card?

Tried to format on different computers and operating systems, including Vista and Windows 7.  No luck.  Stuck the card in the camera and once more a message of "Check Card".  Decided to go and try to format the card using the camera.  It worked!  The card is again recognized as a card SD Cam by the camera as well as the different computers.  Appreciate your response.  Thank you.

  • Installation of XP is no longer recognized by the Setup disk after Format of Partition

    Hey all,.

In short, my problem is that I have an installation of XP (home or professional) intact windows, but after deleting another partition, the computer does not start to it. My question is what are all the things needed for a computer can be started on the windows partition - even just to the loading screen (which files are needed on the partition, for example boot.ini file, which must be in the MBR, how to mark a partition as bootable; etc.). Here is a description of exactly what has happened and what is the current situation:

I was working on a friend's computer, and he asked me to delete the partition that it has not been used (D) and melt in his primary partition (C) where was the installation of Windows. I used a program called Easeus to format the partition for Windows let me to merge. The program asks for a restart, and then it is initialized to a screen where he deleted the partition, then restarted once again, probably to load Windows.

That's where the trouble starts. Instead of windows, I have nothing else than a cursor flashing ("_") in the upper left of the screen. After 60 seconds, nothing was. I rebooted a couple of times, still no windows.

The first thing I tried was to throw the disc to reinstall the window. I got to the screen configuration and supported on entry to choose a windows installation to repair, however he could not find one on the drive C (or D). I then tried to install Windows on drive D, hoping at least to be able to access the files on your computer with a parallel installation and then clean things later, but the installation struck a BSOD (sorry I don't have the message). The last thing I tried using the recovery console, but the only one installation of Windows that he found was on the D drive (I guess it was the remains of the failed installation that I had tried just because it contained only a few system files).

So I still need an operating system to access the files on the C drive, so I did an installation of Fedora Linux (on a small new partition in drive D). I could check on the files and they were all intact, including the Windows system files. I could not find anything wrong with the partition, except for the apparent absence of a file boot.ini on drive C. I tried to add a boot.ini file by default (even though I wasn't sure exactly what should be in it). I can only assume that when my friend had the computer built with partition by a local technology company, they did the D drive partition bootable, but put the Windows files on the C drive. It makes no sense, but I can't find any other reason format another partition that windows would make it unbootable.

The problem is, now, I have GRUB installed to Fedora. GRUB cannot boot directly on Windows, so he has to begin on an another bootloader that can. I think I have GRUB pointing to the right partition, but I get an error message. So, what I want to know from a point of view of Windows is everything necessary for a successful boot, assuming I can get GRUB to work on his end. What should a healthy Windows boot look - exactly, what should happen?

The other option, of course, must do a fresh install of Windows on drive C (and hope for no BSOD more). I could put all the files on the partition of Fedora and move them back after the relocation. So what you think - is it worth a try even to save the current installation of Windows?

Feel free to ask questions or for clarification. I have a limited capacity to test things, I have to wait until I can get to his computer. Your help is very appreciated!

  • My account at work is no longer recognized

After a clean install of Windows 10 on some new HDs on my computer, my Adobe Creative Cloud account - put in place by my institution - is no longer recognized. The link of/go/manage_team in redirects email from welcome to the main page of Adobe (version/name;) "I'm at the Canada), and all products are now on 'Try' instead of the installation when I use the application of creative cloud Manager.

The e-mail address used to create the account is always recognized - I have reset my password several times, trying different things, so I don't know the email address/Adobe ID used to create the CC account still exists. But it is no longer recognized as a narrative full of the CC. That is what it is?

The case holding the Maxtor no longer works or the Maxtor drive itself is a failure. Your first step is to contact their technical support.

    http://www.Seagate.com/www/en-us/support/

It is a perfect illustration of the reason why you cannot rely only on an external hard drive for backup. You have to burn to DVD - R on occasion or using a service like Mozy offsite backup. Hard drives are mechanical devices, and like any other mechanical device, they can fail.

If Maxtor (Seagate) tech support determines that your hard drive has failed, you can still get the data on it, but only by sending the drive to a professional data recovery company. I use Drive Savers for my clients, but there are others. Professional data recovery is quite expensive, running with an average of about 2700 $ $500-$3500. Hello

to copy entire websites is an arduous task in my eyes. Your sounds to me that you have access to your old site. If you could perhaps talk to your supplier at the time, to get it back.

  • VMDK is no longer recognized after cold move

As part of the migration of storage of a data to another store, I close the machine virtual and made a gesture of 3 files vmdk to a data to another store.

After the move is completed, 2 3 come vmdk files fine with the virtual machine, but the 3rd vmdk and also the largest 200 GB now is no longer recognized as a hard file. I have attached a screenshot.

Is anyway to fix what looks like a corrupted hard? Any suggestions would be welcome.

Except for the last two lines with the ' ~ ' the vmdk file looks ok. Please remove the last two lines of the vmdk file, to make sure that this does not invalidate the file. If you are not familiar with vi (dd deletes a line), you can use nano (nano w HOTWVGEUAT01_2.vmdk)

If this does not please compare the file vmdk with another of the differences (apart from size).
