    I reinstalled Vista on my old compaq with a cd of vista OEM, my friend gave me and I can't get Vista to activate now. I understand that the original CD would have been pre-activated and this one isn't. I don't have the original disks and the computer did not have a recovery partition. I used an original cd of OEM Vista Home Premium x 64 make the re - install. When I try to activate windows, there is no option to not activate by phone and when I try to change the key he said is not a valid Vista key, if it is the original on the case. I tried to use slui.exe 4 to get the activation of the phone, but I had the screen normal activation that I'm used to without phone option.

    What should I do here? I don't want to pay for the new disks or reinstall again if I have to...
    original title: not activate Windows Vista OEM

    After talking with Microsoft, I am very pleased and impressed by their service.

    What the tech says the key to the case only lights up if the installation came from the disc from the factory, I did not and is no longer available from the manufacturer. They I generated a new key which also did not work because it does not correspond with the oem Setup, I used.
    Now they're sending me a new copy of Vista Home Premium retail toll-free sales. I'll have to reinstall clean, but I'm fine with that in the circumstances.
  • HP Compaq d530: HP Compaq d530 Chipset drivers for Vista

    Nice day. Could someone give me a clue how to deal with chipset driver for HP Compaq d530 desktop running on Vista? It is quite old and still works but not completely. The problem is that I don't have the specific driver for the graphics card built-in which generated the error like "Failed to start Open GL and Direct 3D" when I want to get an old game for my child.

    I see in my device manager I have given to the graphics card "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter" and after some checking, I found that it is Intel (r) 82865G Graphics Controller Driver. There are so many places where you can download the drivers and I checked several, I see some of this particular but none does not work on Vista, I see the other MS XP, Win7, 2000, etc... Please help me.

    Thank you.

    Hello:

    Intel graphics card integrated in the d530 is not quite the running Windows Vista or Windows 7.

    The workaround is to use the XP driver if at least you can change the resolution of the screen.  You have Windows Aero because the gpu can not run it.

    Use the XP driver as follows...

    1. download and install this free utility for files.  The first file on the list is for 32 bit.

    http://www.7-zip.org/

    2. download and save, but do not run this driver.

    https://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/download/10424/graphics-Intel-extreme-graphics-driver-for-865-chipset-based-Intel-Desktop-Boards

    3. After downloading the graphics driver, right-click on it and select 7 - Zip from the list of options.

    Have 7-Zip extract of: and let it extract the driver in its folder.

    4. go to Device Manager and click on the video controller needing drivers.  It can also be included as a standard vga adapter under the category of device display cards.

    5. click on the driver tab.  Click on set to update driver.  Select her browse my computer for driver and then software option at the bottom of this window, select the let me pick from a list of drivers for devices on my computer.

    6. click on disk and go to: created\Win2000\ialmnt5 of 7 - zip to the folder Driver, then select the Intel (r) 82865 G Graphics Controller from the list of graphics cards as well as the driver should install.

    Restart the PC.

    The "HP Compaq dc7900 Small Form Factor PC' sees a 4 TB HARD drive?

    I plan to buy a bigger hard drive for my desktop and I would like to know if the "HP Compaq dc7900 Small Form Factor PC" can take a size of 4 TB HDD.

    Maybe you can, but I can't say for sure.

    You will be able to format the disk to the GPT so that windows to 'see' a large partition.

    Toshiba support

    Contact Toshiba and ask them to send you a set of recovery Vista disc/s.

    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

    Then reinstall Vista with them.

    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    See if you still have a recovery Partition on your hard disk to reinstall vista home Premium.
    Try this and see if it works:
    Toshiba Recovery:
    To access the recovery partition Toshiba, powering the laptop. Press 0 (zero) key and turn on the laptop. Keep holding down the zero key until the TOSHIBA logo, which is where you should start to type the zero key repeatedly. Stop if the device emits a sound signal or when the TOSHIBA logo disappears. The screen should light up * MODE of RECOVERY of HARD drive * for a fraction of a second, and then load the Toshiba Recovery program directly from the hard drive.
    Note that this clears all data and reload all the software factory default. Be sure to back up all your important personal data beforehand!
    Or borrow a good DVD (not Dell, HP, etc.) Vista.
    A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
    The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.
    Call the manufacturer Compaq...
    1. ask a set of recovery disks. The overall cost is minimal. It is worth the money several times over.
    2. at the same time, ask to speak to a technician. Ask technology to teach you how to access the recovery of your computer partition and also how to use the restore system ypur partition.
    Note: you will lose all files and programs that you have installed. Save them if you can. If this isn't the case, you will need to start over from scratch, after you restore the system.
  • HP Compaq Dc7900: HP DC7900 will emit 5 beeps
    I installed 250 GB second HD in my DC7900 PC, PC has no beeps and starts 5 times, I checked the connections again and pressed on all the memory, PC booted OK and works fine, problem seems to recudding when I open the case and touch cables, Rams watch firmly seated and well connected cables , I tried disconnecting the second HD I installed it but it is not the problem, otherwise PC works well and fast, I think the upgrade of ram 8 GB instead of 4 GB is present, if the problem is caused by the ram, I appreciate any help? Thank you.
    Hello:
    If the problem is not occurring now, perhaps reinstalling each strip memory fixed the issue.
    I would not try again unless the 5 beeps happens again.
