  • Compaq elite 8200 memory upgrade challenges CMT

Tried to upgrade my memory in my Compaq Elite 8200 CMT, running Windows 7.

Bought this memory HP, HP 4 GB 240 - Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 Unbuffered 1333 (PC3 10600) system memory low voltage model 647907-B21 - who must have worked, but it did not.

HP technical support was not able to tell me why it doesn't work except to say that the 201 memory error means certainly was not compatible.

Finally, I went back to it and got for about the same price Mushkin Enhanced Silverline 12 (3 x 4 GB) 240 - Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) memory Fund model 998770.

Then the same thing started to happen, and I went nuts, try to install 12 GB and get these 201 errors completely. Finally, I tried one in the first place and managed to do the work, so I knew they were good. Then I started to notice that with all of the modules that I inserted, it gives an error 201 memory initially, but it passes then the second time.

My feeling is almost it gives you this message after the first time after that any changes in the configuration of the memory and everything just it runs when you restart a second time in direct succession. It's like the first reboot is only for detection and error means nothing.

I couldn't find anything about it in the manual.

    Hello:

There is a problem with the BIOS.

Read the release notes for all of the BIOS releases because I do not remember that the error has been corrected.

The thing is my 8200 Elite CMT has the latest revision of the BIOS and I think I still have this error after upgrading memory up to 32 GB.

As you said, it's just a thing time and once I hit the F1 key after installing memory modules mine works fine.

And since I have maxed out the memory in the PC, I will not see this error.

What is the max memory for an iMac in early 2008? MacSales.com shows a 6 GB kit, but crucial only shows a 4 GB kit.

    Thank you

    John

The computer iMac (early 2008) has two SDRAM slots in the bottom of the computer and comes with at least 1 GB DDR2 SDRAM installed into a slot. The maximum amount of RAM you can install in the computer is 4 GB (a 2 GB SO-DIMM in each slot).

    Maximum RAM 2 GB

Note: the manufacturer was required to provide a way to reinstall Windows. If it is not a set of disks with the computer, there will be a hidden restore partition (do not be confused with the system restore), you would use to return the computer to the State of the OOBE (Out of Box Experience).

Usually, just by pressing F11 continuously during the computer startup to display a boot menu offering the option you need.

You may need to contact the manufacturer of your hardware (Dell) to see what options they have to repair Windows.

  • Desktop HP Compaq Elite 8300: stolen PC

    Hello

My PC HP Compaq Elite computer 8300 was stolen yesterday from my apartment!
I checked the specifications of product, and he says there is an anti-theft Intel processor installed on my PC.

I wonder if there is anything that I can track my PC!

PS I have already informed the Police about this, but apparently they have no idea about the ability to track the stolen PC.

    Hello

Yes, there are few services around and the way it works is similar to the GPS and mobile phones. It can allocate wher the power is turned on, BUT you have to pay for this service first, too late now, I think.

Sorry, I tell you this story: one of my friends who have used a similar facility for his iPad. The iPad was stolen, a few weeks later, he could see his location (more), using internet and he reported this to the police. Police told him they'd contact police officers of State to help him. Actually, he contacted the State to help police. He could not see on the internet 6 weeks later. No idea of what was going on. No good news from the police, the two States.

    Kind regards.

  • Question about the upgrade memory for my Satellite M40-307

Sorry for the newbie question. But if I have 512 MB of memory for the time being, what are my upgrade options?

Do I have to buy pairs of memory? So I can or buy 2 x 1 GB = 2 GB, or 2 x 512 MB = 1 GB + 512 existing. Or can I say just buy a single 512 MB or 1 GB chip?

Since no one wants to answer:
    1. check if your laptop supports Dual Channel Ram (it should be, but just see the manual to be sure)
    2. knowledge of what type of RAM you have. This will add or remove a possibility of upgrade

The thing with Dual Channel is, that you have the best performance if you use 2 RAM of the same type (really of the same type: company, size...)
    you could:
    3. Add a 512 MB of RAM of the same type you have
3 b. buy 2 pieces of new RAM of the same type (1 GB + 1 GB, or 2 + 2 GB) and do not forget that your laptop supports this quantity (once again: manual to check)

You will also find in the manual, if your computer supports DDR or same DDR2 RAM (faster)

If you have lost your manual, you can download it here on the toshiba Web page

    I hope I could help a little.

  • Satellite L10-226, what memory inside?

    Hello

I am interested in buying a portable satellite L10-226, but it has only 256 MB of DDR Ram. For this reason I will update the Ram 512 MB DDR - Ram after buying. What memory does Toshiba use for this model (Timings/speed/producer)?
If I get a 512 MB DDR - Ram inside and sell the original 256 MB Modul, is there any warranty issue, if the laptop has a defect or I am authorized to change memory by myself?

    Thanks for your help,

    Kind regards

    BoLzI

    Hello

I can't find any specific details for the L10-226, but I found some information for the L10-224, which has two available RAM slots and uses 1 x 256 MB module or module 1 X 512 MB, leaving 1 spare slot.

If you L10 - 226 has this configuration so your cheapest upgrade would be to add a second 256 MB module to the second slot giving you a total of 512 MB. The module for this is 200-pin PC2700 (333 Mhz) DDR SODIMMreference number PA3311U-1 M 25

The module of 512 MB is PA3312U-1 M 51part number.

The mnodules of RAM are components replaceable by the user so changing them will not affect your warranty at all. However, if your computer is then sevelops a fault with the modules of RAM, then you would not be able to get them has changed under warranty Toshiba, you must return yourself to the vendor from whom you got their.

I think you should check this page from memory Satellite Pro M40:

    http://www.orcalogic.co.UK/ASP/ProdType.asp?ProdType=26119&ft=m&St=3

  • Pavilion p6608f: upgrade memory for p6608f

Hello, my Pavilion p6608f came with 4 GB of RAM. I want to upgrade. By HP features, the motherboard is a MSI ms-7613 and it should support up to 16 GB of RAM (4 x 4 GB DIMMS). I bought 4 DIMM which seem to fit specifications, but the computer wouldn't POST after installation. I tried reseating the DIMMs, but no luck. My hypothesis is that the memory is not compatible.  I'm unable to find good information on the compatible memory for this computer on the site of Kingston, MSI site, or the site of HP. (Any ideas on one) why the memory I bought is not compatible and b) how to find compatible memory?

    Thank you.

Saw that Crucial guarantees their recommendations, I'd go with it.  You may contact their Customer Service to see what they have to say if you are still skeptical.  I have recommended Crucial memory for years without reports of incorrect memory being received.
